The ending is so beautifully ironic in how Caesar's plan for a synthesis between the NCR and Legion ultimately succeeded, just differently than how he had envisioned, in a future without him.
And the NCR evolving into a organized military state due to failing/dying leadership is hardly surprising considering some of their FO2 endings.
It's ironic since he meant it to be reverse. He meant for LEGION to become CIVILIZED but in the end, it's the NCR which became TRIBALISTIC.
@@danielsurvivor1372the NCR is by no means tribalistic towarda the end but i understand your point. Now to question for how long it takes for the cries for reform to be heard. After all, no empire can survive without an enemy
good. I don't see what's wrong with that. At least the ncr got stronger and much more efficient. Maybe it was actually some kind of amalgam between the good parts of both democracy and totalitarianism.
Caesar’s Legion was the Empire; it was literally modeled off the Roman Empire.
It expanded and took too much territory too quickly, which is pointed out to, I believe, Caesar.
"And so, the NCRs eyes glazed over as their grace was lost. Their most powerful enemy, most brutal enemy, was not felled by them in the end. Instead, the enemy was defeated by the cruel, painful passage of time. The NCR, now lacking its own soul, wandered and conquered what little it could. Not for its own gain, but because its all they knew how to do anymore."
While I hate when NCR fans swear up and down the Legion would lose because "haha spears", Legion players tend to forget the empire's kinda screwed once Caesar's dead. Lanius isn't an Octavian. He wasn't groomed for rule, he was Caesar's sledgehammer. Clearly the guy has some intelligence in him, as evidenced by the barter/speech endings to his encounter in the game, but that took someone looking him in the eye and talking him down. No subordinate is going to risk that, so he'll never get the wake-up call. Great vid as always man.
I'm not an NCR fan but the Legion has always been a joke and it's unrealistic that a bunch of luddite tribals could pose a serious threat to an industrialized military. The entire culture of the Legion doesn't even use agriculture, or medicine. This means that most of their soldiers would die shitting themselves to death, or of trench foot from their 200 year old football gear. Infections in the legion camp would kill many more than combat.
Even more so, they wouldn't be able to easily replace those losses due to lack of agriculture. The carrying capacity of the region they control would be dwarfed by a single "state" of the NCR, especially when you include birth rates and infant mortality. I highly doubt that the Legion would be able to even stay together after the second battle for hoover dam just because their military would be so depleted. While the average legion soldier has a machete and football gear, the average NCR soldier has a semi-auto service rifle and ceramic armor. One NCR soldier is worth about 20 legionnaires, is far more easily replaced, and is probably physically stronger and healthier too.
The Legion is just fucked.
Most of Legion enjoyers don't like Legion for purely the Legion's sake, but how it clashes with the NCR to rid it's faults.
The ending with the Legate being crowned Caesar, was horrific, and we saw how it went, but in the end came the NCR with it's new ideals that can deal with the wasteland, a new NCR as stated by the narrator even Caesar would be proud of, even more so than the Legion of the old and certainly the last.
I think the technology argument is funny as well because the legion has a guerrilla warfare stance on it’s military situation in the Mojave so, their technology doesn’t need to be modern.
Most people seem to get this wrong in my opinion. It's clear the Legion will win in New Vegas if The Courier dies (no NCR video :| ). Even the Mr. House video I think was a bit of stretch, but the NCR simply can't win Vegas from the Legion on their own. The Mojave is more or less contested territory, but NCR has the disadvantage just because they got to there first and over-expanded (basically the NCR's biggest weakness). Given the level of control the NCR has, it's easy for the Legion to just poke small holes in their defences and wage proxy wars with the local bandits. Like I (hopefully) conveyed in my video; the Legion is putting everything into this campaign, Caesar wants to make Vegas the Legion's homeland, while for the NCR it's a war effort far away from their homeland that rests on the value of the region logistically, i.e. Hoover Dam. In that same vein, the Legion has no chance of winning past Vegas, unless the NCR somehow collapses from within, they'll only become more focused on fighting the Legion and the Legion will have to push into NCR territory proper, not only with a greatly diminished fighting force from clashing with by far the most powerful enemy they ever faced, but with the death of their leader and only person with knowledge of how to maintain an empire, they'll wither away in at most years.
Caesar is the only reason I say the legion will die as Marcus said "it may not happen in a day it may take months even years but it will happen basic human nature"
I'd think House would go for a boulder city 2. Overload the Lucky's reactor and blow Vegas sky high. Or simply lock himself up and try again later, remember the legion had tried everything and couldn't get in the bunker. It's enough to blow the elevator up to stall them for months
Thats a possibility.
But if house locks himself into The Lucky 38, lanius might just destroy that tower with explosives or artillery. If he doesnt get The tower, no one does.
@@brok56 Definitely not artillery, that goes against Legion philosophy. As for explosives. I'd assume House made his tower nuke proof. I doubt that the Legion could kill House.
@@rutger5000
What is that one piece of artillery in The fort than? The only reason it doesnt function is that there are parts missing.
@@brok56 Was there when they found it. I don't really know.
@@rutger5000 the artillery was scavenged from an old military base, you can help the legion repair it. They’re not against using it.
Basically everything goes downhill. The NCR loses their control of the Mojave, House's dream collapses all around him, the various towns gangs and tribes of the Mojave are either integrated into the Legion or destroyed and wiped from history, and the Legion collapses without Ceaser leading them. This outcome is inevitable without the Courier and leads to a destroyed Mojave, the Legion fractured, and the NCR weakened. Not the ending one would want, all because of one man.
Merry Christmas, everyone, and to you too Omega!
It kinda acts like the plot of Mercenaries 2 world in flames
The Courier wouldn't join Caesar, after every ending he fucks off to only God knows where
only thing we know is that he comes back to Big Mountain from time to time
edit: I meant he wouldn't rule the Legion
Also it gives the enclave the chance to take over instead 😂
Edit: that just gave me an idea for a fallout what if involving the enclave and Caesar’s legion
@@zachduperron8543 either them or the tunnellers lol
I see nothing wrong. True to caesar
I would have loved if Vulpes Inculta could take over the Legion given his intelligence of warfare. Aswell as his ability discieve and plant spys in enemy territories. The legion would be much more scary with Vulpes' intelligence with Lanius' ruthlessness
He’s literally the first time we see the legion and just tells us everything there is to know about the legion with just his acts he did to innocents
Even so, the Legion already treats Vulpes with contempt with his ‘cowardly’ tactics and strategies and not enough support to solidify his own rule.
@@droidmaker7932 I'm pretty sure Lanius is the only person who ever calls Vulpes a coward. Ceaser himself praises Vulpes more than any other legionary alongside Lanius. I think Lanius would be willing to work with Vulpes as leader if he orchestrated his own version of NCR's boulder city trap. As we already know, Lanius only cares about winning. And it's not like Vulpes is incapable of making a statement, he destroyed Nipton and Seachlight just to send a message to the NCR
@@jonathanday5647 yeah, and that is the point around the end of the video. Lanius’ only cared about battle and the only reason he joined. He loved to kill. He loved the adrenaline of battle. And yeah, Lanius would work with Vuples only if the battle would be face to face.
he was almost crucified except for Ceaser's intervention. I don't think the Legion would unanimously give him power, especially since he doesn't have a rank that would warrant being Ceaser's successor.
With that ending, Caesar acheived his ultimate goal. NCR because of the conflict with the ideology of the Legion, took on parts of the Legions ideologically and shifted theirselves towards a militaristic empire.
Thesis. The NCR. Antithesis. The Legion. And finally Synthesis, a Republic as expansionist and chauvinist as Rome. Caesar would indeed be proud.
Now here's an idea I've always wondered about.
What if the Legion won during the First Battle of Hoover Dam
With Graham still an active member in the forces, I suspect we could wind up with an even worse ending than this
Which obviously would make it all the more fun.
I assume that the Legion would be better off with Graham in the long run as he would be able to takeover from where Caesar left off while Lanius can't.
@@TheOmegaInitiative Perhaps that is worse. Lanius is a smart man but he doesn’t want to lead a nation, Graham is smart and is able to lead a nation. Graham was a brutal tyrant when he was a Legate. Without his baptism by fire (in the most literal of sense) he would continue to be that way. I would imagine his reign would be like Lanius but actually sustainable for a time.
@@shiny1556 Graham to Lanius: Go there, bonk'em *Happy Legate Noises*
@@shiny1556 exactly, the man himself admits in the DLC he doesn’t have the logistic or talents as old Caesar does.
The Legion converts to Mormonism.
What's interesting about this is how pointless the outcome becomes. The first Ceasar had an end goal in mind as flawed and as brutal as it was. Lanius on the other hand does not and is not a good ruler. So with all of the bloodshed and victories the Legion literally is like "now what" with Lanius
Even if Caesar could defeat the NCR, he would ultimately be defeated by a foe far more powerful...
Brain cancer.
The one foe that cannot be defeated with brute force...
@@fluttzkrieg4392 one can kill brain cancer of you drive a spear hard enough into it. Keeping the rest of the brain alive is another story
Yes but he was healed. But even if he was not healed, he would have left the Empire United with no real major powers to challenge him.
@@louditalian1962 Caesar can only be treated with the player's intervention. And even if Caesar survives, he'll still die later. And without a clear heir his empire will fall into a war of succession and fight itself.
The Republic of Dave
Nothing better than starting Christmas Eve with an Omega Intiative video.
I think you should do a “What if Elijah won” video. Vegas may be a relatively dark game but if the Courier sided with Elijah or if someone was lucky enough to survive the Sierra Madre’s horrors and sided with Elijah it would instantly turn the world of Fallout into a universe just as grimdark as 40k
I mean dust essentially was based off that plus the worst new Vegas ending
I think that the interesting thing following this scenario is what happens with Vulpes Inculta, providing he's still alive. Vulpes is far more conservative with his resources, worse perhaps at outright battle, but more calculated with his brutality than Lanius, and more capable of diplomacy. He'd probably be Lanius' natural successor and might be able to give it a degree of resurgence. Knowing when to retreat, and when to attack.
Lucius probably would since he had Caesars favor and he was very loyal and had a mind for logistics and probably would be much better at ruling then Lanius imo.
Imagine if Vulpes and Lanius could learn to co-operate, reviving the old Roman republican concept of rule by two "Consuls"... but then, both men are far too egotistical and selfish for that.
I wouldn't be surprised if lanius killed Vulpes during the struggle to seize power. They were at odds with one another's philosophy.
Maybe but know they either work together or fall apart if they fight each other. It's a lose lose situation
In this scenario it's very likely that Lanius has Vulpes crucified, ngl
Graham would have gone all old testament on the Legion
I killed Graham before marching on the dam for the glory of Caeser
Bringing down the plagues on Caesar
Where buy Cheeseburger me?
That actually sounds like a cool sequel.
Sadly. Joshua would meet his end. He's a great warrior but he still needs the help of the courier to fight off againts the white legs. The full might of the legion would be 2 much for the burned man and a simple tribe.
This question hits different if you've played the Old World Blues mod for HOI4. The Legion usually just stomps the NCR and conquers California.
Turns into a total shit show, though, if Lanius gets turned by the Twin Mothers, or if Caesar dies and it turns into a four-way brawl as Lanius, Lucius, Vulpes, and Aurelius all struggle for control.
Old world blues mod for HOI4? isn't old world blues a fallout nv dlc... what is HOI4
@@aname8174It's a strategy game, originally set in WW2, but many mods have alternate history scenario or settings, like Fallout or 40k
They done nerfed the hell out of my legion boys😭😭 they ain’t won at at all in the last 10 games I’ve played
This is what happened in my own game rn, actually. The NCR and Legion were at a stalemate until Caeser died, and the NCR annexed basically all the land. Kinda sucks for my Mexican Unification playthrough, tbh.
The legion collapsing under Lanius is no surprise
People keep forgetting that likely Caesar adopts the legion aligned courier as his son and heir
And a house aligned courier is likely his executor should anything happen to house
Except in this scenario, the Courier is literally dead, with two bullets in their skull, i dont think Caesar would have any interest in, let alone do so, "adopting" a corpse :V
Oops, the Legion tried to kill the Bear, but only turned it *rabid* ..

@@iboildogsalive6535 transformed into an unstoppable, effective force of nature, far more than it ever was in the past...
This was a very well-crafted scenario building upon much of the critical source material from New Vegas. There's many ways this story could branch out from the militant NCR moving into a Mojave and finding whatever little remains of what was once a legendary army of slaves that conquered 86 tribes. Nothing is mentioned of the Brotherhood upon the NCR returning to Vegas. It is established that all of the advanced tech has been stripped. What follows is my opinion of what could happen after the end of the story put out in this video.
What was once a bountiful bastion of wealth, power and glory, is now a dry, barren desert long past its prime with whatever oasises now mirages long-gone. The Mojave Wasteland has returned to a time not seen before the rise of Vegas. The city became an action-packed entertainment jewel ripe with casinos in the mid-20th century. Now it is just a grizzled old shadow. Dominated by an arid mass with quiet, sleepy settlements no different than the humble railway water stop that Old Vegas started out as in the early 1900s. The city was quiet for two centuries after the bombs and had a second chance that is now went. But time must go on. The Brotherhood may have had no problem plundering whatever gizmos they deemed "unsafe" from the Mojave. The only trouble they had was with lowlife wasters, muties and savage Legion scum, that fought over the scraps themselves. But their and the Legion's acts of defiance against the NCR only made the Bear a scourge that could conquer that entirety of the old American West, perhaps all 50 states if they had what it took for such a feat. For such a powerhouse as the might of the NCR, they may have had it easy. That is taking a dust bowl of a Mojave no other group would see the value in. But greater challenges rest beyond the old sands. No doubt with what they may have taken, it is a very likely possibility the Brotherhood has also built up steam - a great army of their own. The Enclave that tried to conquer without resistance in the 2240s was spread out across the vast Old World. What the NCR found is only the prelude to a great game for the control of the West, perhaps for all of America. No matter how further the great bear of the west has changed from it's beginnings, the Lord never meant for their demons to rule unchecked forever. Only time will tell how the great crucible for the fate of America will play out after the NCR's return to the Mojave.
Very cool extension, my dude.
My goodness dude I freaking love your what if and alternate history videos. Every time I get a notification that you release some new content, its one of the things that truly brightens up my day. Great material as always Omega! You're the best and merry Christmas!
I'd love an expansion on the story where Caesar is only interested in taking New Vegas was just to commandeer Mr.House's stasis bed, thus becoming immortal. That way he could rule the legion and the Mojave from behind a screen similar to the Wizard of Oz. He would need to hide that from the rest of his Legion, save his top officers. Question is, what would he do with the army of Securitron's? With the combined might of his troops and the Secturitons, New Vegas would in fact become his 'Rome".
Worst outcome of the Legion. Sounds like 40k.
Imagine in the next fallout game, during the entire game there have been vertibirds flying over head, then we get a quest about a village being wiped off the map, and soldiers with advanced technology marching though the wasteland, and are almost at your location, the half way though the game they arrive, the player has been lead to think that this threat must be the Enclave again, but no. In a scene similar to fallout 4 trucks and other vehicles come swarming into the wasteland, but it’s not the Enclave, it’s the NCR.
oh boy paying taxes isn't going to be enough this time.
Honestly, if you took Fallout Extreme into consideration...
Pretty likely that'd be the Brotherhood of Steel, wiping out and/or drafting anyone they can get their hands on, plundering villages for every weapon :V
Because they have an even BIGGER fish to fry.
And then, Ulysses nukes everyone. The End.
It would be cool to see what a militant ncr would do going forward after realizing the collapse of the legion.
Same.

@@BaronVonBong * whisper's * T t C
interesting. very different from how I imagine it but I like the idea of the Caesar getting his way with the NCR, just not how he anticipated it
What if the Brotherhood won? I could possibly see it happening if Veronica managed to convince McNamara to start recruiting people of the wasteland or, with the war in the west potentially going poorly, the main group of BOS sends a large force to the Mojave, maybe trying to go further east before finding the Mojave chapter.
Unfortunately they just don't have the numbers. They lost the majority of their chapter at Helios, and even if they did break their rules to recruit outsiders, Legion and NCR still have their armies back East and West. They'd lose eventually no matter what
@@jonathanday5647 What if the main Brotherhood in NCR came?
@@ALLMINDmercenarysupportsystem highly unlikely if they are also recruiting newcomers as that would break their own rules. You'd see a similar segregation as you would in Fallout 3 with Lyons' brotherhood being shunned by the their other chapters. And if the BOS in back East would send their whole army to the Mojave, you'd have to imagine the NCR would catch wind of that to stop them. I'm not saying it's impossible with the whole BOS army, but it would also be pretty ridiculous to ask the whole BOS army to move to a dry unforgiven desert, with only Helios and the Strip being any fragments of technology that the BOS would even be interested in. Also the BOS would still have to fight the Strip families, securitrons, Fiends, and presumably the Boomers if they wanted access to their airbase. You'd imagine the supermutants in the Mojave would also fight the BOS given their history especially given their history. Even before they fight the Legion or NCR they'd have to suffer heavy losses before the real war would even start
I like the idea, but Legion out East and NCR out West still seem to have a much higher likely hood to hold New Vegas given their recourses. Even during the events of New Vegas, Ceaser is still trying to recruit more tribes such as the Khan's and White Legs. NCR with their treaty with the Desert Rangers is a force to be reckoned with. Even the NCR can gain an alliance with the Van Graffs. The BOS doesn't have any friends or extra resources as its in their nature to be isolists.
The only scenario where the brotherhood wins is the scenario where Vegas is independent. They wouldn’t be able to fight legion,Ncr, and possibly secruitrons at the same time which is why they aren’t one of the main factions.
It's absolutely insane the way you come up with this stuff. I honest to god take this as straight cannon the way its so well crafted and thought out. You do so well tying the cannon into fiction that its hard to tell where the line is so I sit here mesmerized watching these videos for hours upon discovering you. Absolutely amazing work never stop doing what you're doing. Sorry I'm a little smacked at the moment and am going to spend the rest of the night watching your entire Fallout Archive.
I absolutely love the style of presentation and direction in which you took this hypothetical scenario.
You didn't simplify practically anything, things weren't boiled down to just 'the Legion wins and takes everything with little opposition', you emphasised not just what made the Legion strong, but what made it weak, its founding principles, acting as a double-edged sword.
Sure, a violent, totalitarian regime is quite effective in swiftly dealing with problems in the short-term, but it requires a specific mindset to deal with long-term problems as well. The fundamental issue being that, the mindset of the dictatorship is centred around the dictator. And when the dictator is replaced by someone without the necessary mindset, he can't just be removed peacefully by a subordinate authority or opposition group in an official manner like in a democracy or even an oligarchy. It requires a plot, scheming in the shadows to facilitate a coup, which in turn requires far too many steps to be pulled off reliably every time an inept dictator comes along.
The realism on display is commendable, seeing the Legion show its cracks after their conquests because Lanius is now in control is quite believable. It quite strongly reminds me of more recent WWII Axis victory scenarios created in modded Paradox games such as Hearts of Iron IV (if you'll excuse the cringe-worthy comparison).
I do love that you included Joshua Graham, one of my favorite characters in all of Fallout
Watched his recent one, it's full on joshua's arc. He's my fav too
Through some kind of a dialectical process, as Caesar enjoyed to use for interpretating the evolution of societies, his objective like he said himself in the game was to transform the NCR from a corrupted republic into a "military dictatorship", and he did. Great video
I'm going to detail a little just what I meant : Caesar sees the NCR as the first term of the situation (the thesis), and his Legion as its antithesis. In a dialectical understanding of ideas, they do not remain distant and simply opposed, they enter in contact/conflict and with time they create a new material, the synthesis, which is superior to both the thesis and the antithesis (qualitative leap).
So after the friction in the Mojave and with some time passing by, both the NCR and the Legion have vanished, and what emerged is something that is supported by the qualities of both NCR and Legion (technology and discipline), and unburdened from their failings (generalized selfishness and over-reliance on one leader)
This is such an awesome story. I think this is your best video yet.
As always, awesome storytelling and creativity!
Your alternative fallout history videos are some of the major reasons why I hate the Internet and the overall CZcams landscape. Cause people that have actual talent towards story writing and storytelling barely have 50k subs with videos getting around 60k views whilst outright MrBeast clones are getting millions of subs and views. You are a truly underrated content creator and I hope that a day will eventually come when the algorithm will bless you and help you blow up. whenever I see a lesser know creator I like I go on their channel and comment on every single video. it doesn't do much but it does help with algo.
They are interesting, but the way he describe the Legion up until Legate Lanius becoming Caesar is weird. Because he described how House and NCR have finally grew and Legion got weakened due to previous Caesar's stupid move and yet I have to believe Legion won?
I've seen the greatest masterpieces made by channels with 400 subs, only to after that completely change their content and fall into obscurity

God I hate how these videos are so good, I keep watching them one after another and loving it 😭
Absolutely love these sorta what if videos you make though do you think you could do a sorta short story on Boone since in most Legion endings Boone becomes a high class bounty or just goes on a murder spree. Unless he died with the PMC during the defense of Vegas it’d be cool to know his fate in this alternate timeline and to see his reactions towards the newly formed NCR
I love the good ending for Boone with a Legion Victory, because he becomes a bogeyman to the Legion. 😎👍
I reckon without the courier Boone and his friend held Novac to a last stand before succumbing to the legion advances
The legion basically faces the same problems the NCR had, only exacerbated by poor leadership, causing the legion to leave its “Persia” and collapse internally. It’s ironic how Caesar saw Vegas as the legion’s “Rome,” but the entire area became the equivalent of Afghanistan. It was only when it was deserted that the NCR took it by force, with nothing to show for it other than dirty casinos and ghost towns. The only thing of true value in the area was Hoover Dam, it’s electricity, and all the fresh water the Colorado River could collect. That’s would certainly alleviate the monopoly of The Hub on water merchants.
Side tangent: My theory is that Lake Powell has been capturing all the radiation filled water and the clean stuff has been skimmed off the surface and sent downstream to Lake Mead.
You know who Legate Lanius remind me of? Robert Baratheon. A warrior who should never rule.
Unlike Lanius Robert knows that he was only good for fighting and entirely deligated the ruling to his foster father John Arryn unfortunatly for lanius he doesnt have one and if he did it would be more likely he would just straight up execute him...

13:41 As the wise man once said, "Remind Yourself that Overconfidence is a Slow and Insidious Killer."
I feel like by the point of the NCR retreating from Vegas House would have the strip obliterated before giving it up to the Legion, considering his response if the courier allows him to live after disconnecting him from the Lucky 38
Very true, he would 100% pull a boulder city and rig the city with explosives or something
This is the best interpretation of house in a while. Its really hard to properly picture house as hes so insanely methodical, its likely for example that he would have presicted the ncr would leave and maybe even order an evacuation of his body you never know, but you know hes the most stybborn old bastard in the entire fallout franchise so it makes sense once he realizes its rsther hopeless he fights untill death
I love how you told the story from the POV of the ones losing
They wont go quietly, the legion can count on it.
Glad to see that this isn't just a legion playthrough but without the courier.
Looks like the biggest winners here are the brotherhood of steel, they get the tech they wanted, survive, have their enemies damaged, and disappear

so the final conversation/ talking Lanius "down" proved correct in the end and Hoover Dam did become the be the grave stone of the Legion. nice to see the Brotherhood "won" but it feels like a hollow victory somehow as they still retreated to their bunker
Only because Lanius didn't understand Caesars plan for Vegas
@@spiffygonzales5899 wasn't a case of not understanding Edwards plans he simply didn't care about anything other that the "thrill" of battle
@@johnnyyuma5747
Exactly my point.
That's really how the West coast Brotherhood survives, they stay in their bunkers and outlive their enemies, only rarely actually involving themselves in outside politics and conflicts.
@@TheOmegaInitiative i always found it contrite that the Courier is the key factor that is able to dictate the outcome of the second battle for Hoover dam and the Mojave as to me at least they are basically a merc with diplomacy skills but watching this video has changed my mind some as i now see how incompetent the NCR are so frankly need to rely on a "merc" to fight their battles for them
You make amazing videos
I like that even when Caesar's Legion won, they still lose to the NCR.
how i view it, is that if Caesar legion beat the NCR at Vegas, they wouldnt be able to take the rest of the NCR. The legion would be spread too thin pushing west. While they might be able to hold Vegas and the damn they cant take New California
Exactly
@@joelmooner69 I'd say the same of NCR if they tried to push east in the Legion land. They can bearly wrap their hands around new vegas. Pushing to take all of the American southwest with just about no vehicles and an already diminished supply line would, at minimum, break their backs and force them back to california.
This is the best Christmas present, true to Caesar
This series would be amazing books, audiobooks, podcasts, etc. amazing alt history series about an amazing alt history game!
22:30 Damn, the Brotherhood of Steel's stealth build was so good they even snuck up on the Narrator.
Love ur work
Christ on a cracker that was a movie and epic story :D
Thank you!
Great video
That was great!
I’d love to see a scenario where Benny actually takes over and kills house and maybe actually claims a independent Vegas (especially since his late Voice Actor Matthew Perry has passed away recently)
Happy new year Omega!
The main thing I love about all of these vids that you make (especially the ones on fnv) is the very real possibility that these could happen
Like I could see the events in these serving as the backstory for new fallout games
Great job on this one
The Legion will die unless it finds it's Augustus.
I really liked the point when NCR turned to pre-war McCartneyism after losing the Mohave, really makes the entire loop of "war never changes".
I love the idea of the PMC
So the legion falls apart and the NCR evolves from an empire in all but name into a full fledged empire. Now though I wonder what happens to Elijah? Does he simply wither and die in the Sierra Madre with no one else to come and put Dead Money into motion? What of Ulysses?
Elijah would continue to try and take control of the Sierra Madre until he dies. Ulysses would eventually hear of The Courier dying and without a debt to settle, probably start a new life.
@@TheOmegaInitiative I really wish you'd utilise DLCs and especially companions in your what if video, yeah I guess you can make an argument that both are sort of Courier related and it's hard to imagine them getting started without him, but would still be nice to know their fate in those what if scenarios.
What did Cass do? Did she get proud or horrified of new NCR?
Did she get her revenge for caravan destruction?
I assume Boone stayed in Novac but even in Legion endings it's implied he lived up until captured by Legate, and those are endings where Courier helped Legion, I assume without Courier and his knowledge and expertise, Boone had way easier time surviving and maybe he even joined new NCR. Did he become corrupted by it?
What happened with Lily? Did she go more Crazy and turn into Leo or maybe she survived?
Veronica seems like such an overlooked character, how did she react to such a chaos? Did she even survive? Escape further east or west or even north? Maybe she somehow activates Sierra Madre radio and THAT'S how you can insert Dead Money (best DLC, no cap, no arguements) into your rewrite. Maybe Elijah with Veronica help succeeds, and then what? How would Veronica react to Christine and the fact she wants Elijah dead? So much potential for seperate video of Veronica being captured for Dead Money heist that it deserves seperate video!
How did Raul react? He was one of the only human companions who didn't just bash Legion, what was he thoughts about unstable Lanius Legion? What about his Thoughts of new NCR? Did he pick up guns or give up after seeing so much... Sadness, or maybe this motivated him even MORE to return to his gunslinging ways!
What happened to Arcade? Probably THE most overlooked characters, considering how he knows about Enclave Remnants, besides escaping with them, he could've tried to make em unite to join NCR/House allegiance, how did that turn out? Did he just flee somewhere since he can't unite Remnants?
P.S. Seriously make more what if scenarios and one of those must include Veronica in Sierra Madre DLC
HO-LY SHIT. that was an incredible fever dream of a video. thx bro
You tell good stories
"The NCR turns into the Enclave"
Really my only gripe with your presentation is how the legion takes the dam. We see in game that when it comes to war Lanius is actually a very clever fox, discovering old tunnels into the dam even the NCR overlooked believing no one would be crazy enough to swim through them, which is exactly what Lanius had his best men doing. He didn’t need to mass his troops for human waves on the top of the damn to push in because he hit every level of the dam at the same time. Realistically the courier involvement in this tactic too is so simple it could be assigned to any legate or veteran.
But yeah my rant over lol it’s a good video I did enjoy it a lot
So in the end Caesar's planned synthesis of the Legion and NCR was succesful.
I'm just proposing this if you happen to make another video in New Vegas, you could imagine that after Caesar's death and Hoover Dam battle, it's not just Lanius that controls the Legion but a triumvirat made of Lanius, Lucius and Vulpes, so you can build upon a Legion lasting longer
Was waiting for the BOS to drop the Archimedes II on the legion
The fact that you can simply talk Lanius out of being loyal to Caesar, and simply walk away from his greatest fight, tells me that he would NOT be able to lead the Legion in this manner. It’s a very well done video, however, it requires too much suspension of belief to follow as a possibility. Love the content though, and I like the debates and thoughts you hypotheticals conjure
As someone with moderate sympathies for the NCR, I’ll follow this new NCR. Great video, Peace ✌🏻 and Happy New Year.
Part 2 to this please? 😎👍
P.S. Sad that Mr. House’s dream didn’t work out so well.
An NCR I would follow!
In the end Caesar would have been right about the dialectical relationship between the NCR and Legion. NCR was the thesis, Legion was the Antithesis. But the new NCR was the synthesis.
I love the fact that my favourite faction i.e: the BoS is, by the end, lurking in the shadows, probably stronger than ever
I would love to see how it would be if benny would have been in charge of new vegas
Ironically ceasers thesis and antithesis came true with the absence of the courier. The parts that conflicted washed away to create a stronger combined being.
Me : do one for the legion
Omega : I don't like the legion
Omega: dose it anyway
I wonder what'd happen if all the brotherhood chapters joined up (like say they were all driven out, ex. Ncr expansion, growing unrest among the people overwhelm the DC brotherhood, and the commonwealth clearly isn't welcoming to the brotherhood and they are kicked out by settlers and/or the minutemen and railroad who don't want to under the control of a faction
Tl;dr Ulysses/Brotherhood win?
This video doesnt really discuss what happened with the DLC characters besides Graham. What about Ulysses, or the Sierra Madre? I doubt anyone would ever get into the Casino, although maybe one day this NewNCR could take it by force, only to find their endeavors being for nothing as the vault self-destructs, and the matter fabrication technology likely lost along-side it.
As for Big MT? Well, without the Courier's intervention, not much changes. The toaster dies, likely, and Cazadors, and other such mutated creatures steadily enter the Mojave as usual.
And regarding Ulysses, I feel he would *eventually* figure out the Courier's death, probably working backwards in the process (hearing of the Legion's fall, and basically watching this video in reverss). That is, if he isnt the one to put the final nail in the Legion's coffin, activating his nuclear warheads to completely decimating the Legion's base of operations.
OR, maybe he never had the chance to destroy the Legion, maybe they collapse within too quickly? And it is the NCR, this rabid, destructive animal that is *put down* by Ulysses with his warheads completely glassing the New California Republic. It'd likely be a mercy killing, from his point of view.
Ironically? If the Brotherhood was able to hold out even as the Legion collapsed, and the NCR retake the Mojave, they'd probably be the ones to "win" overall in this scenario. They picked the Mojave clean of technology they deemed unsafe, and if Ulysses nukes the NCR, will likely be able to take back Helios One as well (maybe dealing with some cut off, rogue NCR troops in the process).
