Great point about the 1989 victory. I feel like the 1991 winning side does not get enough credit either. One defeat all season, only the invincibles have ever lost fewer. 18 goals conceded, only the great Chelsea side of 04-05 have ever conceded fewer, that was an incredible team!

Bournemouth, Everton at home are GUARANTEED 3 points and United away will be a nothing game, United are done, aren't getting UCL and they're scraping draws against to Burnley.. They are all miles off arsenals and man city levels. You mentioned mini leagues well arsenal and city are about to be a mini league for the next 3 to 4 years at least its already been last season and this season, the rest of the league is miles off. We are going to get even better each year and the owners will continue to back the manager. Bare in mind this was our first season in the ucl in ages. This means mikel will have alot of money to spend this transfer window plus a few assets like ramsdale nketiah, Tierney, lokonga etc to sell.
All this and Timber has barely kicked a ball yet. When he pinged his cruciate ligament opening game, by all accounts Arteta was ‘why, Lord, why?’ His game plan depended on Jurien Timber. All season Arsenal left-backs have been fill-ins, they’ve done well (Kiwior, Zinchenko, Tomiyasu, all fill-ins!), but Timber was going to be the new star boy. Such is life.
Last summer AFC signed Rice,Havertz and Timber who was unliucky with a bad injury but what a contribution they have made superb signings if the plan is to bring in three new signings this summer if they are as good as last summers everything points to AFC going up another notch and that means AFC CHAMPIONS !!!
We're in a really good spot at the moment thanks to Mikel Arteta and Edu. They've united the fanbase, given us the ability to hope and dream again but I do think we need to deliver a major trophy ASAP. Need to just win our games, hopefully by a few goals to keep the GD up and just hope man city slip up in one game.

Nothing is guaranteed even though we're developing so well and improving. All it takes is one summer of bad recruitment and some terrible injury luck. We all may have thought Liverpool would kick on from their dominant league performance, but the next year they lose Van Dijk and the rest of their defenders. It's always on a knife edge and Pep is allegedly sticking around for yet another season next year so there's that monster to deal with.
There is absolutely no guaranteeing it and this league is so difficult. We will need to recruit well and cut our losses with a few players, and I trust the boss/Edu to do it. But I'm still so sad because this year was a genuine golden opportunity and we really were good enough to do it, just stumbled in a few key spots.
Finally someone says the truth about Anfield '89! That game is insane to think about, 1 month after Hillsborough, Arsenal go to Anfield and need to win by 2 goals to win the league, if we don't then its liverpool. Last kick of the game wins us the league. How can aguero possibly contend with that?

Then they went on this winning run, Bergkamp remembered he was good at football and was almost God for a few months. Then he and all the Arsenal strikers got injured so Wenger signed (mid season) George Weah’s nephew Chris (he was playing Sunday league at the time), and he scored about 4 goals in 6 games and Arsenal won the title with a game to spare. Rory, you didn't mention Arteta's ruthlessness when it comes to who gets to play, who doesn't and who will be sold. If they don't meet his expectations or show signs of indiscipline, they'll be dropped and eventually sold. In addition to Ramsdale, there are rumours he'll sell Zinchenko, ESR, Jesus and Martinelli.

Arsenal mentality is odd, Rory. I’ve been supporting for 50 years, I should know. We win the League just about often enough to know how hard it is but not often enough, so we endure most seasons going ‘not good enough, not good enough, not good enough!’ You’re spot on this team will win the League so long as their heads don’t drop with disappointment, but that’s the only way they’ll learn. Losing to Fulham with a Christmas hangover could be the whole season down the toilet. They’ll learn, we hope, before exhaustion sets in and they become ‘best team not to win the League’. Normally these Arsenal teams learn. Under early Wenger he was so good he made up for their inadequacies, these days that can’t be done. They’ll win so long as they keep learning the hard lessons.
