The show started to sink since season 6 . It had great moments here and there but for the most part was already a shadow of itself. The probabilities that this season were going to dramatically improve were fairly low.

Rewatching this in October 2021... this could have been so incredibly amazing. Started rewatching the show with a few friends who haven't seen it yet two weeks ago. I'm sad... just so so sad.
The king of the undead flies in on a dragon, landing in front of his vast horde of 100k white walkers. He clambers down off his dragon pet and takes a few tentative steps towards the line of living soldiers protecting Winterfell. He reaches up and takes off his battle helmet and looks at all the soldiers, generals, king and queen spread out before him. In a low gravel voice he shocks all capable of emotion as he speaks "Seriously, what the hell is an Arya?"
Season 1-6 of has always been about these long, epic journeys from place to place, which is where a load of character development happens, and twists and turns derail characters along the way. But after six years of that, D and D realized it was running out of time because of this self-imposed deadline, and suddenly everyone is warping all around the map instantly, erasing that entire part of the show that was a key aspect of it before. This results in some plot holes, but also a general sense of disorientation and like everything is moving at breakneck speed. And usually, this is done in service of just hammering us with battle after battle, with maybe one episode of downtime in between them. It’s felt exhausting, and like the show is trying to sprint its way through a marathon, losing steam far before it should. It is easy to see how the last 13 episodes of the series could have been 20-30 episodes if the showrunners had decided to take their time, taking an unlimited budget from HBO, respecting the opinion of the series creator, and doing service to fans who would loyally show up for a decade or more if asked. Instead, they wanted to be done, and rather than leave and hand the show off to someone who actually wanted to be there, they’re just blasting through it, and clearly, it’s suffering as a result.

First 4-6 seasons yes. As whole series, breaking bad wins for me. I like game of thrones a lot more for the many characters, depth and setting. But at least breaking bad was clean and round until the end. They didn't break the characters and plots. So I would say that is the best show of all time

Season 1-6 of has always been about these long, epic journeys from place to place, which is where a load of character development happens, and twists and turns derail characters along the way. But after six years of that, D and D realized it was running out of time because of this self-imposed deadline, and suddenly everyone is warping all around the map instantly, erasing that entire part of the show that was a key aspect of it before. This results in some plot holes, but also a general sense of disorientation and like everything is moving at breakneck speed. And usually, this is done in service of just hammering us with battle after battle, with maybe one episode of downtime in between them. It’s felt exhausting, and like the
show is trying to sprint its way through a marathon, losing steam far before it should. It is easy to see how the last 13 episodes of the series could have been 20-30 episodes if the showrunners had decided to take their time, taking an unlimited budget from HBO, respecting the opinion of the series creator, and doing service to fans who would loyally show up for a decade or more if asked. Instead, they wanted to be done, and rather than leave and hand the show off to someone who actually wanted to be there, they’re just blasting through it, and clearly, it’s suffering as a result.

First 4-6 seasons yes. As whole series, breaking bad wins for me. I like game of thrones a lot more for the many characters, depth and setting. But at least breaking bad was clean and round until the end. They didn't break the characters and plots. So I would say that is the best show of all time
