The bumpers painted in the same color as the bodywork really made the car look 5+ years younger, it's such a transformation.
the special editions had half the bumpers color matched. they look really good.
A younger, meaner Honda Pilot lol
I like when I see those Honda Element painted bumpers they look totally different to the non paint bumpers
@@db2integra608 e
Totally. I want to do mine red to match my 2001, 248k miles.
Small affordable builds. Love this and wish more YT automotive channels would go back to these.
What?! You don't want to watch the millionth wrecked supercar "rebuild"? 😂
For real. These are my favorite builds on YT.
No
Affordable? Lol they threw coilovers on a 21 year old CRV
Mighty car mods does that too like their recent yaris
These small fix up builds are really satisfying.
HEY LEX! Do a series on customizing Hondas on gta !
Fancy seeing you here, Lex
You were the last person I thought would be here no offense
You are the kind of person that you'll see when it's the most unexpected
Yeah bcs it’s cars everyone has and it’s just nice not to see a 80,000 Audi or BMW 😂
Hondas get a lot of hate for their questionable and cheap mods but this was so tastefully done and it looks so clean and well done. Great job!
they're just mad that the same QOL mods cost 6x as much for their cars
@@TubaKodyOnb. Hondas on top
Would've been hilarious if they forgot to do the oil pan after all that. 😂
I thought that forgot the tires and rims when they said the oil pan was the last thing they were doing
Like me going shopping for milk n come out with $100 down without milk.😡🤬💯🤦
That's what MTV and Pimp My Ride did, they did ridiculous stupid mods but ignored actual mechanical issues.
Builds like this take me straight to Craigslist lol
I was trying to post on craigslist yesterday and they were trying to charge me $5 bc theres other places that will let me do it for free. I will no longer post there. That's prob why it's so dead lately
Dc2 that’s crazy it’s been awhile since I posted on there I usually use OfferUp
@@jdmDC2ftw Use Facebook marketplace instead
@@SwangBangCo facebook marketplace is better
Me too with no luck.
I love seeing these old CR-Vs getting some love. They're such amazing, well-built vehicles and their design has held up well.
1st gen CRVs are so underrated. They're built like tanks - incredibly tough and durable. They have a lot of personality and really grow on you. I bought a '99 for my son and he drove it until he could afford something "cooler". I was going to just sell it after he was done with it but after cleaning it up and fixing a couple little things I just couldn't part with it. It has 270k miles on it and runs like it will run forever.
Its killing my OCD that you guys didnt at least wash the engine bay.
It’s undercoated it would still look dirty
@@argen809 yeah I know but ugh. I would have tried
Yup, I would have washed the engine bay. Also ceramic coated all the plastic trims to give it that fresh new look.
The whole point of undercoating is to protect it from rusting so cleaning it would essentially negate that
@@speedacademy Lol. Leave it dirty to protect from rust? First time I've heard of that.
Proud owner of a 97 CR-V and it really means alot to me that you went up and did a nice touch up to the car and makes me feel inspired and motivated that people still care about these cars 💯👀
As a Canadian goddamn these guys sound so Canadian when they get excited driving it for the first time lmao
this is such a clean cr-v. i have a 2000 and i plan on a subtle upgrade like this. thanks for your time involved in all of this.
This makes me want a CR-V. Never ever thought I’d say that
I have a second gen AWD 5 speed for a second car, it's handy to have.
My mom got a 2000 Honda CR-V lx
Gonna get my 2nd gen CRV this Tuesday! Yeah! I'm so excited!
This was my second vehicle ever. I loved it! The guys in my squad would have me carry supplies and guys to and from the motorpool and training ranges.
Why do you think you'd never say that? these are super reliable. And they actually feel like suvs more than a crossover and also gets the best gas millage for a suv also has awd so it can off road. Another words it holds its value and then some.
Didn’t think that CR-V would sound that good.
It is a B20 after all... The only down side to this exact motor and set up is no vtec.
Makes me want go get another 1st Gen. I would absolutely throw a VTEC head on it.
I have a similar intake with the same exhaust and motor swapped into an integra and I was surprised as well it does sound very good for a honda.
B20 baby!
@@cerealfamine1 I'm throwing a GSR head on mine!!!
Dude left the rust bubbles on the front fender and just painted over it 😂😂😂
That’s what I thought 😂
Lol
Complete hack job.
yup at 19:35
I thought it was an optical illusion. I wasn't seeing things...he actually did that? C'mon, man!
I'm really enjoying these regular car mods! Keep it up. I feel like the budget car upgrades are the most appealing to watch because I can relate to it.
Looks really good, modern and a bit agressive with those wheels, I'd take that over any modern suv, because Honda !
Why does a pimped CR-V that's old enough to drink make me happy? IDK :D
These vehicles are just like us. It's like you've just had a haircut and bought a new pair of jeans
Old cars getting love they deserved
Older cars look better than modern cars. Every new car that comes out is the same old boring look.
Because when people respect and take care of what they own it's psychologically fulfilling. Try deep cleaning then *conditioning* something you own and use frequently. You'll see what I'm saying is true.
I love builds like this. Nothing too over the top, just a little bit of a face lift. Very tasteful mods. Looks so good, I would definitely daily that car
Watching him get introduced to his old but new ride had me smiling from ear to ear! Great job guys!!!
“Simply replace the intake, lifts intake... clamp immediately falls down a 4 hour wormhole .... cars, am I right
Only true car people can appreciate little/big changes like this, such a great project and get to share it with your bro.
That’s so cool what you did for your brother. He seemed actually really grateful and You guys did a great job on the polishing oil pan gasket cleaning up the valve cover etc. etc. great job guys
Just got this car from my dad because my dad doesn’t drive anymore. This car is full of wonderful memory since I was born and watched your video give me a pump to take care of my boy and love it much more.
Here from crv enthusiasts fb group 🤘
I didn't know there was such a thing. Joining in 3...2...1...
Maybe you have the info I'm looking for .... The table and umbrella in the back and what was the purpose for them and whats the purpose for that storage ? Is it a cooler cause ive actual used it as one just lined it with plastic and added ice and beverages mostly wobble pops and then closed and locked table down and its a mobile casino with bar lol and in the shade .
Simple jobs made a huge difference. Great work guys.
I still got a lot of love for these Old CRV’s. I always liked the lines on them. And you still see a ton of them on the road
I'm new to the channel and these are actually my favorite videos. Its motivating to see what I may be interested in doing to my daily driver to breathe new life into it! Great work SA!
Giving me the warm feels going into the weekend!
Loved this little series, especially being a honda fan boy lol
The amount of fun you guys have doing this for your brother.... and the look on his face when you show him what you did, puts a HUGE smile on MY face. You guys rock. Now I have awesome ideas for my Wife's CR-V. What a great video, eh?
Wow, U both guys are amazing & so down to earth. Tubers like you guys are hard to find, super natural & polite way of talkin. ❤️
This is so nice of you guys, and the B series moment made me laugh, it sounds really good. B series baby, wooohoooo! Loved the video!
Such a good budget build but you're killing me with the miss matched spare!
Just bought my wife a new 2020 Passport so I could get her old 2006 CRV...little does she know what’s going to happen.... thanks guys for the “additional ideas” I got a few of my own having spent my entire career in aviation. Hopefully the time and money will come together for some creative time in the garage...then my son’s 2005 CRV might get some old man time! Great inspiration guys!!!
The rims put everything together well, wow, amazing work over all 🤩
Way better looking then the new CR-V. Love it! Great job. I would like to see more of those transformation! Thank you!
This kind of pimping just reminds me of my younger days ricing up my lil honda civic. I love it. Just like the 2020 corolla build. Soo good
my first car!!! when I was 18 I saved up my pennies and bought a beat up 99 crv for $1000 with 200k. it wasn't exactly the car I desired, but it was cheap and reliable. I slowly fell in love with it and the honda brand...I cleaned it up, made it look nicer and modified it a little bit, added an overkill bumpin sound system lol. Now I'm 22, recently got a Acura Rsx Type S, but sometimes I miss my lil old crv. If only mine looked as clean as this one lmao. Great videos guys, it really made me reminisce.
Thanks for showing us mod on basic car like this!
Love the fact that it is not over modified at a point it looks smart and brilliant but not losing and performance at the same time
Keep it up!!! Wish to see more!
I clicked on this video so damn fast
This car went from Honda to Mercedes! Good job!
Our old CR-V (gone but never forgotten) had baaad bumper fade after about 4 years here in Florida. I must say that was top notch, A+++ work you guys did and you should get awards for it.
i love my 98 CR-V which was given to me after my grandfather died. They got it in 99 and put many miles on it. right now its sitting around 225k miles with mostly factory parts. have done the oil pan and valve cover gaskets. oil pan gasket on mine was a pain to get off as well but did the same with the valve cover. stripped the factory black paint and just re painted it black. have replaced a lot of the front end stuff like sway bar links, control arms, ect. had to replace the wheels cause i found out three of the four were a bit jacked up. but i can say that i love the older model CR-Vs for sure cause they just keep on going. over all you guys did some awesome work this one and kinda makes me want to paint my bumpers now. good work and will be following cause of this video
Wholesome AF, everyone is smiling ear to ear!
Oh yeah! Just watched the first part ➡️ second part 😎
I don't know what it is but i like you guys. Y'all speak in a mellow tone and your excitement also has an underlying mellow tone to it. lol Anyways I enjoyed this two part series!
I have 2 CR-V that I just purchased, 1998 and 2000. Both of the cars are manual and in immaculate condition. Idea was to build exactly the same for two of my kids but didn’t know what to do with them. You guys gave me perfect idea !!! Thanks Much !!! Cars are already have a lot of job done under a hood by New Level Powder Coating, Inc. out in New York now thanks to you guys I know what to do next !
Do more of these videos! I'd love to see more of these fix-up style videos, but with more time for you guys to do it in depth. Like full tune-ups too, changing the oils/spark plugs/bushings out, etc.
I love these CR-Vs. You guys did a great job on this one!
This is the stuff I love. Modding cars most people wouldn’t give the time of day.
Aw man... the nostalgia in this video... my first car was a 97 civic with the d16z6 and I learned alot and they are sooo easy to work on lol. When you turned the corner and I heard it growl, that made me smile and took me back to those days. Im about to get a 1st or 2nd gen crv. I love this video 😊
Since we're all on the same page next time can you tell your brother your gonna K swap it & K swap & make it manual ?
Marquise Thomas I’d stick to generation specific but make it a Manual Transmission. #savetheB
Ha where do you get a donor k from is the question
@@krismartin1181 a crashed tsx
Hey guys, if u have a auto gear box, how easy is it to convert to Manual Trans??
I own a 2001 CrV automatic trans. Would love to do some conversions
Damn, you have me looking at my brother's CRV now...
Lift it
These were by far some of the channels best video. Need more like these please!!! I'm subscribing right now in hopes there will be more like it! 🤞
Gosh, this just proves that tasteful light modification can really breathe new life into even the older cars. That thing looks like it's 10 years newer and actually incorporates stuff I bet Honda wished they did. Also, I'm now looking into getting a set of those Konig Oversteer rims for my vehicle so they owe you guys a referral bonus!
Just my 2 cents but the aftermarket short ram air system may actually decrease engine performance since it now sucks in all the hot air released by the exhaust system and radiator. Without the enclosure, it does not shield the unwanted hot air from entering the engine.
Flash News: The factory intake sucks hot engine bay air. The inlet pipe to the filter box is shaped like a U, I guess for fording water reasons. I got rid of mine after hacking the filter box. If I had to do it a second time I would cut the U section and leave just enough of it to suck colder air from behind the front bumper and close the hole where it comes up out to engine bay space.
Yup, that’s the first thing i noticed, they installed aHOT air intake
SUCH A FILTER DOES NOT WORK WELL, ESPECIALLY SINCE THE ENGINE HAS A HIGH MILEAGE, SORRY FOR CAPS.
Agreed. Definitely not a power upgrade in a sense. There is less restriction in comparison to the stock intake which makes a miniscule difference, but definitely a more predominant intake sound. At speed the amount of cooler air in the engine bay pretty much breaks even for power. Throttle response does fractionally improve but nothing you would write home about. At the end of the day, it's purely for sound purposes.
I know this is an old video but I'm looking at removing the weird box between the valve cover and firewall.. I think it looks really ugly. Has anyone else done this??
wish i can make my crv like that 😢 love the simple but perfect build ❤️
97' owner here. Currently sitting at 162km. The paint looked great after that elbow grease. Mine is the same colour plus the spoiler. Thanks for the inspiration to keep making mine perform/ look better.
Wow this turned out INCREDIBLE! That went from a junker to a fully respectable, nice vehicle you can feel proud to be seen in.
This was a really fun series! You're a rad brother.
This was awesome I done a similar job to my daughters civic and she is so happy. Thanks to you guys keep it up from Noosa Australia 🇦🇺
Good Daddin’ Mate!

I love your yogart
Please guys! Help my green Ursulla. She’s a old classic lady ( Honda CR-V 1998)
I cried just for watching your brother sooo happy, and I want to feel the same thing by you guys ( I’m from Brazil 🇧🇷, sorry my grammar fails ) ❤️ I loved your enthusiasm and what you’ve done to that lady girl Honda CR-V
So much for respect for all the work you two out into this vehicle. I ended up learning some things as well. Cheers guys.
I love seeing something like this come together - way more realistic for the average joe viewer!
No idea why I’m watching someone work on a crv 😂
Love that you do everyday cars! Great job!
Real guy that love cars...this channel gives us amazing content
That is awesome I LOVE these small affordable builds
At first I was like awh man this isn’t gonna be as fun to watch... I was so wronggg! I love it! Well done
Entire thing was well done. Looks fantastic, color matched bumpers are sweet, the exhaust is just right. Cheers from not far away in Woodbridge!
I did something similar (not quite as extensive as new rims and tires lol) for my brother but man, its one of the greatest feelings to see the reaction and the joy :)
Oh man, this was an awesome mini series. I kind of wish we could see his reaction behind the wheel though
you should do more of these pimp series
Damn... I never thought that this old CRV would look good after being refurbished. Thanks for the video and appreciate all the information and tips from you guyz. Especially the adjustable suspension, the reconditioning the engine top, the M-oil reserve pan, the headlamps, the front bumper and rear spoiler plus back lamps...just nice... Makes me think about buying a secondhand CRV to reconditioned... 😃
This video makes me genuinely happy for some weird reason. Great job guys!
I love haow excited you were to show it to your brother! Well done ✅.
We need more of this content!
i really like this kind of video. Giving old cars some refresh looks and upgrade.
What a transformation! The wheels and tires look amazing with the painted bumpers!
Always like the reactions your brother makes everytime you pimp his rides lol. Does he have any more vehicles?
Best part is those headlights. I miss my two old lifted CRV’s
You guys knocked it out of the park on this CRV 😮💨🙌🏼
Awesome man modifying cars that the majority of people can afford....that's great makes us believe we can have a nice looking car..keep up the great work
The poor man’s G wagon 🥵. All jokes aside it looks soooo good 💪🏻
A smart mans g wagon **
Well you don't have to be a ju
I've always wanted to do a build like this. I'd also throw some changes into the interior - but this is a almost a dream daily for me.
This is real honest work. This is something I would've never thought to do, but man does it look clean. Great job!
What pimp my ride should have been. I would definitely watch a show that moderately restores old daily drivers like this.
I’ve never wanted a CRV, until this video. 😂
Damn! That CRV looks so good, I want one now haha
love this build, never thought a crv would look that good
That black pain with the wheels looks SICK!!!!🔥🔥🔥
Next we need a 5 speed swap with a GSR head! Part 3 and 4 coming soon!
OMW to buy a CRV after watching this!
You guys are awesome!! I'm looking for a CRV from this gen in Ontario and this makes me want one so much more
Just bought a 2000 with a 5 speed and I love it, this gives me inspiration.
Now my CRV really is sad that it’s missing some of that love.
When can we expect to see the STi killer Evo? 😁
I really enjoyed this... shows what a little love and a decent budget can do for a 20 year old car
This was an awesome video! Nothing crazy just simple things that anyone could do.
