It’s insane what fast food places charge for sandwiches now. Like it sounds like a joke.
Fast food used to be affordable, low quality faire. Now... well, it's still low quality, but who would pay these prices? I'm sheltered from it, I'm on social security, no way I could afford fast food.
That's what happens when they introduce a man made pandemic to shut the world down and pay everyone $15 an hour NOT to work and force everyone to pay $15 or more to get people to work again.
They forced a 50%+ inflation on everything
The McDonalds in my city just DOUBLED their prices on a large Coke.

I work at McDonalds and thought this sounded pretty good honestly. After work I bought one, yes, I actually paid for food as an employee because of how curious I was about it. I proceeded to get home and bite into the saddest, driest, shittiest sandwich I've ever had and actually cried a single clown tear as I envisioned Ronald laughing at me for his master work in worker exploitation

i also work at mcdonalds and i'll say this if you go sit down and eat it the second you get the sandwich it goes from being awful to decent, it tastes a lot better fresh and ready to be served

The rubbery, chewy texture of the meat is what I've experienced many times over the last couple of years from McD and BK. Needless to say on those occasions my disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined.

All McDonald’s had to do was keep their Buttermilk Crispy Chicken sandwich on the menu, it wasn’t a 10/10 but it got the job done. Now they’ve replaced it with this terrible quality chicken a few years back and I can’t for the life of me understand why

Glad you called their chicken sandwiches out. They used to be nice crispy chicken breasts. It was expensive BUT delicious, and now they quite literally put chunks of chicken and cartilage together in a block, compress it and call it the new crispy chicken. It almost looks like tofu sometimes. Not only is it smaller but it is disgusting. Its obviously extremely low quality chicken.and ingridients. How sad that the prices have gone up and the quality of the food has plummeted. I hate mcdonalds for their profit hoarding tactics.

I've had widely varied experiences with the McDonald's chicken sandwich. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it's like the one here, tough, chewy, borderline inedible.
This is a bummer because crispy chicken, ranch, and bacon sound so good together.
I just ate this sandwich and I gotta say that I'm gonna have to disagree with Reviewbrah for once. Maybe my location is just incredible, but I thought it was pretty good. I can agree with the texture issue somewhat, but the combo of chicken, bacon, and ranch is quite delicious, in my opinion.
@@reaganjaegan Another thing to consider is that reviewbrah brought the sandwich to his house instead of eating at the restaurant. So you put a hot sandwich in a foil lined bag where it could steam for 20 minutes and then act disappointed when it's soggy? For me the bottom line is cost, I don't care how good it is, I'm not paying eight bucks for a chicken sandwich when I could get one at Chick-fil-A with tomato, lettuce, pickle and cheese for half that amount.

@@mrs6968 UberEats and Majority food delivery services have an upcharge on all items featured on their platform to make them money. Hence why it always cost more.
@@mrs6968 doordash and uber eats charge a lot more up to like 20% or 30% more than what the business themselves charge. At McDonald's a large drink where I'm at is 1.38 after tax. On the doordash app it's like 2.19. And that's just for a soft drink

It sort of sounds like Woody chicken breast. It's a chewy almost raw texture. I think that happened on the Wendy's Italian review too. I can't avoid it, it was half the breasts I just got from the store.
McDonald's has not earned their premium pricing model. That sandwich should cost not a penny over $2.99.
We do have to remember that there is a time delay between when ReviewBrah gets the sandwich and actually eats it. If you transport a fast food meal from the restaurant to your house before eating it, you're going to have a different experience.
I ate it in my car in the parking lot, and it was soggy. And not good. But mostly soggy lol
You can get this thing in store and eat it on the counter and have the same experience. It's not cooked to order after all, so the small amount of time between drive thru and home isn't going to diminish the quality anymore.

That sandwich is garbage and for $7.59 that’s totally RIDICULOUS ! I gave up on McDonald’s years ago. If I want classy service and quality fast food, I go to Chick-fil-A. Their spicy crispy chicken sandwich is actually crispy and the lettuce and tomatoes are fresh. And they’re waffle. Fries are far superior to McDonald’s and Chick-fil-A sauce Can’t be beat. Plus the workers aren’t trashy and they treat you with kindness and respect. I’ll never visit a McDonald’s ever again. Their employees are always rude and dismissive, and the food is always prepared lake garbage.
One thing I noticed about fast food, oftentimes the quality of the food you get depends on the person preparing it, or the location. A lot of people in fast food just don't care so the food you get sucks sometimes

Crispy chicken sandwich isn’t possible while using a foil lined transportation bag why because the “bag” promotes steam sweat so the bun will be moist and softer leaving the chic patty wilted from moisture.
I'm shocked it's not all that "crispy". Most things sitting under a heat lamp on a piece of bread that more closely resembles a sponge are usually known for their crispiness
I'm shocked heat lamps are still a thing at American McDonald's. Everywhere else they were phased out in the early 2000s and everything is made to order. Which makes McDonald's even less appealing. It should be cheap and fast (immediate even). Now it's slow and expensive.

The one i got was actually crispy. It wasn't bad. He just got a bad one.
The chicken patties are fried for like 7 and a half minutes in a deep fryer and then put in baskets in a heated cabinet. They don’t sit on the bun and half the time they’re bad it’s because they put melted butter on them
Why is he surprised that mcdonalds chicken is A: not cooked in an oven, so of course it wouldn't be crispy, and B: that it's reformed chicken, so of course it's going to be like a block

I decided to try one after this review. And I got it through Uber eats so I wasn’t expecting anything good. But my sandwich was surprisingly crispy and warm. I guess it just really depends on the McDonald’s.

@@toplay1764 Depending where you are in Europe there are some other alternatives. For example, five guys is getting big in west germany and they are kind of decent in my opinion. That being said I still like eating the classic McDonalds burgers, every once in a while even though the price is turning me off too.

I kept seeing ads for this darn sandwich, tried it during lunch earlier this week. It was horrendous 😭 I ended up just eating the fries and my mcflurry.
Edit: I'd have given it a 3/10 especially for the price of $7 for a block of chewy chicken, watery ranch, a not crispy mccrispy, and even the bacon was rubbery on my sandwhich. It was a disaster in my mouth.

I got the deluxe version and really liked it. The chicken was extremely crispy and wasn’t nearly as thick as that monstrosity… but I completely agree that the ranch sauce just tastes like mayo. Still, I enjoyed the heck out of it, probably because McDonald’s so rarely releases anything even approaching “new”.

Back in the late 80s mcdonalds had a superb chicken sandwich. They just seem to prefer to downgrade.

Fast food has a fundamental conundrum: you want to take it home to eat it, but quality of the food goes down for every minute after you get it. This is especially noticeable when you get it delivered. I wish there was a better way to package the food after it's made, these aluminum-lined pouches keep sandwiches somewhat warm, but mostly condense water on the inside and make them soggy. And all that sauce only furthers the problem.
25 years ago they had the McDLT. Its gimmick was that it was a whopper but the styrafoam container they sold it in had two compartments so "the hot stuff stays hot and the cold stuff stays cold."

@@ChuteBoxe3 That was a great sandwich. Better than a Whopper, but was discontinued because the container keeping the hot, hot and the cold, cold (Styrofoam) was discontinued as packaging. Juicy and flavorful. You know you just had a real good sandwich.

My wife and I had the displeasure of trying this today, and it was horrible. It was very rubbery and chewy and did not feel like chicken.

Judging by how you’ve described the sandwich, and how it was presented, whatever Mcdonalds you purchased this at, they don’t know how to properly run a kitchen.
When the McCrispy is fresh, while not being as good as competitors, is actually a solid sandwich. The filets are kept, and put on timers, and judging by how soggy it was, the timers were ignored and the filet was kept in the tray for likely a very long time. Also the bacon looked very old and the sauce proportion was incorrect.
If you ever want a good meal/chicken sandwich, come down to store 11797. I’ll personally make sure you get the best quality. :)
That chicken situation is called “woody” chicken and occurs from time to time in chickens. I would give it another try since a small portion of chicken breasts turn out like that and there’s no way to know besides when you eat it after it’s cooked.
Couple years ago i couldn't get normal chicken. Everything at the store was "woody" aka bland and tough. Super weird texture too

McDonald's definitely pulls off the huge "Popeyes style" chicken sandwich trend the worst. This newer line of sandwiches is a downgrade from their previous chicken sandwiches in my opinion.
Back in the day when they first came out with the MCChicken it was the best and that was in the mid 80's sense then its all crap.. I can remember back when they were killer in the 80's now they just suck.. LOL and too over priced for yuck..

I had a regular chicken sandwich from McDonald's and it was inedible. Took 2 bites and chucked it. Cold, soggy chicken patty, drowning in mayo and and the nastiest lettuce and tomato. Also tried the shamrock shake and it tasted like slimy chemicals. Guess I'll just stick to fries and a Sprite when I visit McDs

The first & last time I had McDonald's & Burger Kings 'chicken' sandwiches was due to the overcooked rubbery texture of the 'chicken' on both sandwiches. It makes me gag just thinking about it.
I think McD's is aiming this sandwich as competition for Wendy's Asiago Chicken Club; so far I've had it twice, and found it to be not bad, but the deluxe version is pricey.

However, one day i decided to try something new this time and got their crispy chicken sandwich and it was just as you described, it wasnt crispy, the chicken was dry, and overall i was disappointed. As far as pricing goes, everyone should at least get the app. You get rewards points, there are special app only deals (one that's been ongoing is BOGO double cheeseburger, or six piece nuggets, although sometimes it's thirty cents for the second one). @@debbiestimac5175 It was alright. About what you’d expect from a McDonald’s chicken sandwich. That can be the issue with fast food; quality can vary a lot depending on who’s putting it together and how much they care, freshness throughout the day, etc. Largely comes down to luck in my experience.
I agree completely with your review. My expectations were fairly high and the idea sounded great. My sandwich was exactly as you described yours to be. I definitely won't try it again.
Nothing beats a classic McChicken or regular Cheeseburger from McDonald’s tbh.
McChicken is my favorite thing to get at mcd. I'm full with 2 and a large fries. Mcd app gives me one McChicken for free thanks to points.

I never understood where they got off calling their sandwich crispy. It’s more similar to the chick-fil-a sandwich which is just called a chicken sandwich, not a crispy chicken sandwich.
mcds has always called their fried version of the chicken sandwich "crispy" They don't realize that these days there are actual technically crispy sandwiches out there so you can't just equate crispy with fried anymore.

Mcdonalds is last place in the chicken sandwich wars. You would think with all the resources Mcdonalds have they could come up with a decent crispy chicken sandwich.
They absolutely can but McDonald's focuses on making food that is preserved and lasts a long time in storage. They focus on profit not real taste. As far as taste goes they hook people with the grease salt and sugar.
McDonald's main business is not selling food. It is selling real estate and franchises. The quality of the food is not important to them.

They put the McCrispy in a sealed bag. The trapped steam, in turn causes it to become 'McSoggy'.
Popeyes does that too yet somehow theirs doesn’t become soggy. McDonald’s was never crispy to begin with.

I must be honest, I gave up on McDonald's when the Big Breakfast was discontinued. This was followed in the UK by the loss of the breakfast wrap.
Everything new on the main menu is just looking for a market that just isn't there.
