- In this video I show you my standalone sample beatmaking workflow using the MPC Live 2 with a free sample pack, but this will also work for the MPC One, MPC Live or MPC X. I use classic hip-hop drums and reveal my favorite Air Lo-Fi plugin settings while making a hip-hop beat.

Dope! I use the resampler all the time as a quick lazy hack to remove harsh high frequencies. This was 😎 cool.

@@labandlegacy no, no it's an actual plugin, not air fx but one of the akai fx I believe it works similar to the air lofi you mentioned. I think its a bit rate reducer emulation type of thing.

Love your videos man. I've been a long time reason and cubase user and have just moved over to the MPC live 2. Totally different functionality to any daw I've ever used! I'm now trying to get to grips with the this new workflow process and learn from the bottom.
I appreciate the dope feedback bro! I think once you kinda wrap your head around the different types of programs you should be good. I still love Reason, but I always enjoyed sequencing on the MPC more. The Reason swing/groove channels are cool though.

Thanks for tuning in bro! It's a lot of fun starting out standalone and building the track out more in the lab. I definitely am less picky about sounds with the Live 2 speaker and focus more on the groove of the track. It's refreshing after being chained to a computer for decades, lol

Absolutely. You can load up the file using the SD card in the software, and I recommend saving it immediately to a cloud backup folder while I'm controller mode. Makes sure you always have a backup.

COVID hairline, aha. Cool video. Lighting was great, man. Still not LiveII for me but doing cool tricks with the software. There is really a lot we can do with it. Final mixes and arrangement is now mostly in S1 for me as the bussing features in the MPC Software are just not enough. Also, I really hate not being able to export all submixes at once. Any way you know?

Somebody please answer this. Im new to the MPC Gang and On the MPC Live 2 when i create projects in standalone mode, those same projects don't appear when i get to the software at all. They cant be reopened unless i switch back to standalone mode..
Make sure you are saving projects to your SD Card or SSD. I personally save everything to my SD card and just load it into my computer, the Live 2 should allow the projects to be seen in controller mode as long as the software version matches.

Q: Why DT770, not DT990 Pro?
I actually wanted the Custom Ones, but they are made like 💩 according to all the reviews. 770s were just recommended by a lot of people for mixing accuracy so it's kind of a influence thing. I'm a little skeptical when it comes to headphones in general (I think they're all overpriced) but I'm hoping to be proven wrong!

Sir I am hoping you can answer this question for me. I have an mpk249 using the mpc 2 software. When I use the chords function in pad perform mode I can only get the chords to play when I use my mouse and click on the pads on the screen but not on my 249 pads... the 249 only hits the single notes. I have pad keys selected. Can you please advise. Thank you in advance.
I haven't tried it with a midi controller, but I believe there is a setting for the pads where you can set it to "chromatic". That may be the issue.

What stand are you using for your mpc?
So is that Touch working smoothly with the latest MPC updates?
Mine has been doing great. A few minor issues/bugs but nothing that will slow you down much.
When your in software mode can you still access the unit's storage ? or do you have to maintain two copies of sample libraries?
You can on the Live and X, but not the One. I recommend having your expansion libraries in your PC and exporting for backup purposes, but you don't have to.
