They were completely over the top, visually, vocally and musically. Steve priest was hysterically funny on stage, bantering with the audience, keeping things lively. He cursed like a sailor. and every time he could substitute a word in the lyrics for something obscene he would. A Real rocknroller. Seen a lotta bands, these guys were unique.

However, NEVER, NEVER EVER got the recognition they deserved. They were as good as Purple, Zep and Sabbath. From what I have read Sabbaths production team had actually inquired about their sound because they liked it so much and wanted to work with Sweets producer. The song AC/DC was done by Joan Jett and done very well.

    I grow up in the Town of Musikladen (Bremen) and live already here! I am a great Sweetfan and had begin to play drums because i loved Mick Tucker! I saw Mick and Andy on the action tour in the 90´s and have a broken Stick from Mick at home that he threw in the crowd! In the past with Brian and Steve i hav´nt see a Concert ;-( What a shame!

      I would KILL for a drumstick of Mick's. You lucky dude! So glad you saw them. I have his identical necklace and I wear it every damn day. Hoping it brings me luck with my drumming progression too. :)

Thanks for posting! I loved seeing Cockroach and Yesterday's Rain especially. RIP Mick, Brian, and Steve. Love you always. 🥰😘

    FREAKING EPIC!!! Those distorted guitar chords and riffs are freaking awesome "Metal" Genre! I wonder if Sweet influenced this sound at all. The seventies were Pure Rock in sound, but this is right on "Metal" Heavy and in-your-face pushed hard with Brian's vocal and with the 3 part harmoanies on top, man, it's SUGAR on the cake!

    This was my initiation rock concert, my very first concert ever. Aged 12. Thinking back, and having kids myself, I am wondering what my mother was thinking 😂. My ears were ringing for a week. Holy moly. Full on experience. I went to one more Sweet live concert in Düsseldorf, in the early 1990s. I still enjoy listening to the sensational tunes, riffs, harmonies and drum fills. Thank you for uploading. ❤❤❤

    Cockroach and Yesterday's Rain live!!!!! YES!!!!! It's not only a horrible shame they never filmed a complete (or near complete) concert but they also never had one multi-tracked either except the Rainbow in 73. Half was released on Strung Up and is superb. Apparently the multi-tracks for the other half of the show were lost. That is sad. Soundboard recordings will have to do....

  • @FRTPGIRL
    @FRTPGIRL Před 6 lety +12

    This is both fantastic and sad at the same time. They were seriously on top of their game by this point in their career, but it's so painfully obvious that Brian is struggling to find the singer he was just a few years before. Makes it hard to watch, knowing how it all ended.

    • @vano758
      @vano758 Před 5 lety +1

      Brian's singing is very poor .... And we all know why. Same story was with George Byron of Uriah Heep.... From one of the best rock vocalist of all times he had literally turned into a weirdo.... A rather miserable replica of himself.... But the show was great. I wish there was a DVD with this gig - i'd watch it with pleasure. Thanks for the upload - i am very happy to happen upon this gem. The track list is amazing..... Live version of "Cockroach" is a wow

      @Harold de Mure , i think i should agree with your rectification. I just described my opinion of one of David Byron's shows with UH in 1975 or 1976, and obviously misused the word. Don't be too harsh on me anyway : i am only a learner of English. Thanks, best regards and hello from Ukraine! P.S. Am an alcoholic singer myself. This is why it hurts me so to see much greater singers and performers than i turn to waste ;-)

      @Harold de Mure , thank you ever ever so much. What a great response - i didn't even expect :) I used to be in love with a Finnish girl Veera. I even wrote her a song.... I think the Finns are fantastic : what great progress they have made since the early 20th century!! Here's my email : i.popatenko@gmail.com . Shoot me a message and let's be in touch. God bless Suomen Tasavalta! ;-)
