I'm pretty sure that the Iguana just sucks after the early game. The Seahorse at least keeps disrupting the enemy team into the late game, but 2-3 damage is useless from the mid-game onwards.

It was cool last week, the weekly set had iguana and caterpillar. The iguana insta-killed the butterfly as soon as it spawned.
It's like a mosquito in a melonless world.
It hard counters monarch/tapir (if using a custom pack) but I agree, mostly useless late game unless you have some serious toad strats going.
the iguana will be better when they release pack 3 into the full game, it'll be able to automatically kill some summons like butterfly, chicks, ants, and mushroomed scorpions

I'm one minute in and he's claiming he always regrets buffing the seahorse, forgetting all the games he's gimped his toad by buffing his iguana.
Good thing that the hawk at position 2 never fails.

I honestly think the best use of the woodpecker is at the front with a toad on the team. Double weakness and decent damage at higher levels because of the weakness.
I think the only problem with this build is that upgrading the Woodpecker does nothing to benefit it - if Level 2 Woodpecker could do one round of hits, trigger Toad, then do the second round, it seems like it would be amazing

The +3/3 dinosaur doesn't work too bad either I suppose. And the tier 6 fish with Hurt: +2 damage to all.

You ever notice that NL's most consistent uploaded game has pivoted from one of the most grotesque and wild singleplayer games (which he stopped swearing in during more recent times) from a genre he was known for playing to a cute and colorful multiplayer game from a genre he was known to dislike?
Yeah me neither. It would be pretty nuts though if that happened. 1 million on the horizon, im so excited for him to hit it- its been a long time coming.

NL, some lollipop tech for you: say you have 2 iguanas, if you use a lollipop on one of them before you combine instead of having a 2/3 on combine you can get a 4/4! it's really good for stat boosts like that

Man I love that he’s a survivor fan on top of everything. This egg has everything.
I love that NL immediately forgot he needed the toad to be stronger than the iguana. Got tunnel-visioned on the Eel.
I think my main issue with this pack is that stats are still and always will be king, and now there are very few avenues you can take to actually get stats.
They focused on having these cool synergies, but it comes down to like.. Panda buffs, a lucky Koala build where you somehow get a level 2 Koala super early on because it literally doubles the rate of scaling from a level 1, a lion or eel, and possibly Foxes if you can end on those like... give multiple friends +2 or +4 stat foods. =/ Nothing else scales as fast.
The Mantis is cool, but even that ends up scaling too damn slow to win against like a single lion placed in front of a Panda that has been being buffed since round 1.
Lion has already been nerfed, it only scales by 50% now
The foods in the pack are almost complete dogshit outside of super niche scenarios as well idk why they felt like the lollipop shouldn't have stayed 1 gold as a pill alternative
I feel like they saw how strong scaling was, and decided the only way to balance it was by making it only available late game. Look at the tier 5s and 6s and you'll see what I mean. The problem is that makes the early/mid game feel like a dice roll a lot of the time, and you don't make it to those scaling units. I think some things like the husky and maybe the ostrich and shoebill need to be lower tiers.
Well at least lion and panda have both been nerfed now.
@@snoreos yeah leaving scaling till late game turns the game into a slot machine. its all about who gets scaling on odd level up rounds. you can scale koala by tier two but there are so many animals in the pack that i i t feels impossible to get an optimal build for it

Starfish is really good with the free roll guy, lets you find your platypus and zebra often enough.

I would enjoy this pack a lot more if there were pills and chocolate. Both feel essential to the game and the weird workaround synergies to get their effect feels so annoying to have to do
Maybe reduce the fish box, and mantis by one rank, to make "chocolate more present? With a nerf to their stats of course (on top of doubling the chocolate buff of the Pup, but being one rank later
@@Bnvnu I like that idea. Or maybe have level 2 pug give + 1 permanent experience. Either way, adding more animals and eliminating chocolate is too much together.
Adding something like a random chocolate could be a workaround, although I'd still like the chocolate back.

Woodpecker koala is only a 2/2 temp buff so its not too good

I am seeing it here first so I'll say it here, congrats on 1 million subs NL. It's been a long time coming and even longer deserved.
Buy-sell with a starfish and a salamander at the same time is such an anti-synergy, you're never going to get a unit that fulfills both criteria so they just cannibalise each other.
I haven't played the new pack that much but it really feels as if most "team combos" don't work because they're too inconsistent to get and scale. You're just better off hoping to get the strongest pets and if you don't get them you're done for. Even the worst player can make the fox and lion work, but most of the other pets don't work even if you're experienced. I guess the real deal with this pack is learning all about the combos that come by mixing the the previous packs. The weekly and custom pack seem interesting. The only problem is that some of the new pets are way too specific to work with other packs. I mean... they hardly work in the pack they were designed for.

Man there are SO MANY animals at each tier it feels really hard to get even a Lvl 2, nevermind a Lvl 3 of anything. I wonder if chasing a level up is like chasing runner-runner to the straight.

I wonder why nobody runs front Woodpecker+Toad. At lvl 1 its Weakness for the first two enemies, at lvl 2 woodpecker its weakness and 6 damage for the first two enemies
The problem is that level 2 woodpecker doesn't interact with the toad "correctly".
The woodpecker resolves both of its hits, and then the toad goes. So it's 1 damage and weakness, then 2 damage and weakness. Which is even worse if you have a level 2 toad, because the toad just uses all 4 triggers on the same two pets.
Weakness that overrides a cucumber and is wasted on a Panda just isn't that good imo
