I think the blue bird is genuinely a really good animal but I do tend to keep them around at level 1 for wayyy too long sometimes. It's easy to create blind spots like that sometimes.

He focused so hard on the idea of the wombat hitting a badger that he didn't realize that like 90% of the death triggers are better or don't matter if the unit is earlier.
Though if he did move it forward he would probably have immediately gotten destroyed by a badger

@@herilubis4475 I keep thinking about this but feeling like it might be awkward in practice. You need a spare pet slot to put your duplicate pet in, you need to actually have two of the same pet *and* the right food combo... it's cute if it lines up naturally but it seems like putting any effort into trying to pull it off is really likely to end up wasting gold to just not find whichever part you're missing.

@@josht130 Why? You almost always want it behind your strongest unit to get more triggers, plus the lion fish provides a benefit to snake being in front
As soon as he decided not to take it I knew it would happen. Lol even if the snake only got 2 triggers it's still better than a cow.
I think he was banking on finding a more useful unit next round.

an objectively worse buffalo that you can get a tier earlier + can run alongside a buffalo without it interfering as much as running 2 buffalo

@@rhysuschrist9969 starfish is T4 now, i guess you can run it with a buffalo without wasting an xp for the buffalo, and level it up at the same speed as a buffalo, but that doesn't mean it's not objectively worse than "more buffalo"

Pepper doesn't get passed along by toucan. It loses it (by taking damage) before fainting

Doesn't he realise that buying a pet whose XP you don't need is basically equivalent to an apple. Getting pets to level 3 almost always is a waste of gold. Same with level 2 if the pet has a "static" ability, like toucan.
toucan doesn't have a static ability, it passes food back to more animals
Pet levelling also gives you another shop option of the next tier up
@@Ghostneedle1 Okay, I missed that. But I noticed that he buys pets all the time which have no benefit other than adding +1/1. Edit: For example, at turn 7+ buying a pet that's not good just because he already has one at level 2 (0/3 XP). That's basically 3 gold for an apple in late game, so a terrible investment. Just roll 3 times instead.
@@andrewdevita629 Only relevant if you don't waste a lot of gold during the process. Otherwise it's just praying to get something good which is not a good approach if you want to do well consistently.
