The event was organised by Sir Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise funds for the Ethiopian famine disaster. Broadcast across the world via one of the largest satellite link-ups of all time, the concerts were seen by around 40% of the global population.

What’s so beautiful about this song is that it wasn’t made for the sake of live aid or to promote it but it was when Freddie and Brian were watching tv and they saw the news about the Ethiopian famine and it was too hard for them to watch so they made a song about it, we still love you dearly Freddie 🙏❤️

Was lucky enough to have seen this in ‘85 although it was at home in Ireland. Couldn’t believe how good queen where that day. When they came to play Sloane castle in ‘86 I just had to be there and they where still unreal. Broke my heart when Freddie past away but these videos on CZcams are great to remind of a time in my life that Freddie and queen where the “ Kings “ 😁
