    There was a four inch deep pot hole made during construction on a major highway and it took them a month to fill it!
    There was another 2 inch one on a road the way home and its been a year that they ignore it. There's another man made pot hole at an interstate on my way to work were we got at 70mph that they ignore even though freaking construction is happening next to it!

    How long does a repair such as this remain in good stead in the north? Our city had a dedicated truck that did if not this very thing then something very similar and they got rid of it after the first year as the repairs failed in Northern Ontario where we are. The Sault has gone back to cold patch unless the hole is dry in which case they apply hot patch.

It would be interesting, four years on to re-visit the same site.

  • @NeilLB7
    @NeilLB7 Před 5 lety

    The alligator block cracking means the asphalt is totally ruined. NO pothole patch of any kind, style or type whatsoever can correct that area. It is structurally destroyed and must be removed by milling. A 2" structural resurface is the only thing that will work. Otherwise it needs full depth reconstruction Expensive? Yes. But it's the only thing left at that stage. The pothole patch machine is fine for a 5 year old road that has an occasional pothole.

    Can you imagine the sales tax revenue from each pot hole. How many new tires, front end alignments are necessary because of pot holes. It’s counterproductive from a revenue stance for government to repair pot holes. Great system we have right?

    If that is really that fast, then why are there so many potholes around? seems like they could do a whole city in a week or 2. So what is really going on with city employees??
