I teach you how to lube a mechanical switch in three minutes! It will help you understand where to lube and what the common lube types are! You do this for every switch!
If you want a written tutorial check out my website here -

I have another tutorial you can watch here which is more detailed and steps you through the process easier - • How to Lube Mechanical...
This video is to give you the gist of what is required to make your mechanical switches feel even BETTER with some high quality lubricants. Do not use peanut butter, WD40 or any other lube alternatives unless they do not react with the plastics/metals in the switch and are thin or fluid enough to allow smooth/unrestricted movement of the switch.
USE GLOVES OR WASH YOUR HANDS THOROUGHLY AFTER LUBING YOUR SWITCHES. DO NOT INGEST THE LUBE!

Thank you for watching! I made this tutorial since it seems more people need to know about how to lube their mechanical switches and getting confused WHERE to lube!
I like how you use the big switches for demonstration makes it a lot easier to understand visually.
My pleasure! That's why i did it. It's much easier to see
i love how he says juju with like a slight arabic tone
That's how it's supposed to be pronounced for me or in the Levant ;)
ahahah idk if you arab but if you're not, great job on picking that up you must be bilingual or some ish. i subbed this sude cuz he said yalla bye lmao (unrelated but yeah)
Love the vids! Makes me laugh every time I watch them. Keep up the good work!
Shay! Thanks for popping up again :) Hope all is well!
This is amazing. Thank you for using the giant switch!
thanks for the video, i really love the big switch, I can actually visualize how to lube
This reminds me of the dentist showing me how I should brush as a kid lmao
More like three minutes per switch 😂 Great video man! Your videos have helped me out a ton since getting into the hobby.
Haha! Thanks for watching! You are not wrong 🤣
I'm sure he meant it for the duration of this video. Either way; you are not wrong.
Haha indeed I did. He knows it 😉
Same reaction but i love how the instructions are clear and the visual aid is so great! Having a giant switch helps a lot how to lube it properly! Kudos to the uploader @JUJU
Thanks bro. Great video ♥️
My Pleasure! Thanks for commenting!
Gonna make my first build with some ink blacks, ive just been looking at all the videos. I liked this detailed video, thanks bro 👍🏼
Thank you so much!
Thanks so much for the clear explanation!
Pleasure!
Nice video. Some had suggested only to lube the stem and not the housing, it will break in eventually. What do you think of that?
Very help video. Great job.
Thanks!
Dielectric grease worked for me. I couldn't remove the switch though. Had to use a toothpick and apply a tiny amount on both sides inside of the switch housing. Cycled the switch a bit, and all is good.
just bought some zeal sakurios and been looking to lube to make them sound better, appreciate this video
Can't wait to hear them! Come join on the discord. We would love to hear!
When are we getting the lightning cable vid you hinted at?
My next video 😉 good reminder!
"You'll need some lube"
*holds up a jar of the driest substance known to man*
Haha it's good for toast and Nutella at least ;)
Dasani waterbottle
you are one of the best youtubers dealing with these topics, I hope you will get more followers.
PS: i m waiting for yourcables
You are too kind!
DIY reverse coiled cables we need it
Im super happy (almost!) with my Steelseries Apex 7 with blue switches, i put some rubber dampeners under the key caps, and they sound nice on the downpress but they rattle like crazy when i release. Thats the only thing i hate.. I want to lube the side rails just to try, desoldering all is not an option or something i want to do i think.. 🤔
where should i buy the thick lube? i got no idea where to buy it tbh
How about an overview video on Holtites or Millmax sockets? There's almost no video overviews on CZcams that cover the steps, the perks or issues. I know a lot of people are leaning towards hot swap these days but a ton of people also need more specific layouts :)
Good idea! Will consider it if I get my hands on some :)
Hi Juju! I want to ask you if you have experience lubing clicky switches. I want to remove the scratchy feeling and the ping of my switches. I'm thinking about using dry lube with teflon, do you have experience with that?
I have in the past, but I don't think it's worth it honestly. Try it! It's subjective! If you do it wrong you might stop the clicky feedback. Practice and let me know!
@@JoeGaz I actually grabbed a few switches to test, I tried using dry lube on the housings and stems and bag lubed the springs with krytox 104. I am quite surprised how well it worked out since it still clicks like it should but the pings have dramatically been reduced and feels a bit smoother than stock. Thanks for reaching out though man, really enjoy watching your tutorial videos.
hey man, what switch keyboard would you advise me to buy. I want a not noisy one but a switch that gives decent feedback. I have been recommended to go with browns but idk if they are good on the rk61
do the akko gateron pinks, they are smooth, pre lubed, linear, and cheap
I saw a video on living without opening the switch and I did that lol
hey juju, i recently used your method and added krytox 205g0 to my gateron reds (45g).. after the krytox even with super thin amounts i almost found that it actually added more actuation force neded, which does make sense but since its my first time i just didn't expect it.
i ordered gateron clears (30g) and going to lube those up and hopefully that with krytox 205g0 still has an easy light press..
for someone like me who prefers super light 45g, do you think I should have just gone with krytox 105? i wasn't sure how well the oil based lubes held up..
It's not instant. It take some time for the switches to adjust to the lube. It was also your first lube! Nice job! I can't tell how much you put but it still sounds like you may have put a little to much. Don't worry though! As you use the switches the lube will move out evenly.
You should have gone with vpf1506 thin lube. 45g is a bit light for buttery lube and if too much is used
I would recommend trying to lube just the stems if you're having this issue. Lube the stem well enough and you won't need to lube the housing. The stem will touch all those parts of the housing anyways, so you'll end up applying way too much if you're unfamiliar with how much to apply.
A moment of silence for the kid that now has a broken membrane keyboard
Btw : Thanks for the vid, got a new sub
Thanks for subbing! I love when people comment :)
You and your switch model are like a dentist with a Tooth Model 😂
Nice Video man! , I hope your doing well, 8 months no videos 😟
I'm still thinking about that huge switch
It's big and very helpful! You building a keyboard?!
@@JoeGaz Still waiting on the switches :( Got everything else ready
@@WolfgangsChannel Wolf love your channel brother. Come talk to me on discord! :) We can have a chat on your keeb!
@@JoeGaz I'm shy 🙈
Don't worry about it! Then just add me
Halo Clears are giving me ringing springy sound, I am not sure if I should only lube the springs or need to add dampeners between PCB and the Plate. What would you suggest ?
Definitely your springs. Lube them with a thicker lube if not any lube! :)
JUJU thanks a lot for quick response. One more qq would you suggest krytox or for springs I read di-electric grease also works. I already have the 81150 Permatex Lub.
I would recommend 205g0 for springs. I haven't tried dielectric grease on springs. Test it on a switch!
Seems like the 1080p transcoding had a graphical glitch at 0:22... Looks incredibly cool though! Watch at 720P if needed :)
Can you use the bag method for the stem?
Yep! I just did it recently :) Some lube on the top doesn't hurt!
How we get rid of the lube ? Just soapy water and toothbrush or there is a another effective way to do ?
Ultrasonic cleaner is good! Easier and less chance of breaking switches doing it manually. Otherwise yea just wiping it with a fibreless cloth would do. You don't want any dirt or particles in there.
I just lubed my linear switch with Krytox 205g0. Is it normal for the switch to feel heavier or is it because I over lubed the switch?
Most likely over lubed but it doesn't matter because after a few days of use it will feel much more smooth. Keep using them and it will fix it self up!
@@JoeGaz alright cool. thanks for the reply. awesome tutorial content in your channel. keep up the good work!
What can i use, if i don't have krytox at hand. I ordered some Super Lube, is that good enough?
It depends on which one... :)
@@JoeGaz i have the Super Lube dielectric grease, and the Dielectric Super Lube oil
So the title means 3 minutes per switch then? I feel jebaited...
I always thought it was JUJU. But i think it’s SHUSHU.
Haha it's pronounced jou-jou in arabic ;)
Oh.. you meant explained in 3 minutes. I thought you found a way to end my suffering. Lol.. thanks anyways though.
60% keyboard lube any% speedrun
This would be super fun!
whens that updated usb c port vid coming ?
Probably after my the lightning cable video and the keyboard build :)
how long does lubing hold?
The thicker the lube the longer. VPF1506 is around a year. My 205g0 cream switches still feel the same since the build video.
Sheee yo that’s sus but cool video
Has someone tried Krytox 205G2?
Can u get me a ducky one 2 mini
Can I lube mx cherry red switches?
Indeed you can!
@@JoeGaz you can't open a switch that are already soldered to the board right?
@@arlokkkk you can't no sorry :( not with this method.
So, 3 min * 60+ = 3+ hours. k... How do I get my 3min 50sec back? I could use it to do 1 switch.
Watch phantom blood in a nutshell
Not first at all. HELL m8
next time ;)
75% keyboard has 75 switches which means it will take 225 minutes to lube every switch or 4 hours. Plus we all know it will take longer than 3 minutes for switch if you’re a beginner.
Wait so mechanical keyboard enthusiasts have to hand-lube each switch in the keyboard?
Outside of it but yes :)
One comment but no visible comments?
Glitch 😊
Can't I just toss the lot in a bag of lube and leave it in there overnight or something??
Hi! I highly recommend refraining from lubing the inside of the cylinder in the bottom housing as that causes the switch to make a mushy, squish sound when pressing down !
who else made the mistake of buying blue switches
lubing the case is actually redundant, why? because u have already lubed the springs & stems. 😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑
That big switch gave me an idea. Santa's elves would be great at lubing normal sized switches LOL
Haha my gosh it would :D
יאללה ביי
Yallah! :D
why do you look like syperpk
I know right. lol
