This is an incredible petrol v electric drag race line-up!
We’ve got our hands on the almighty Rimac Nevera electric hypercar, and it’s going up an absolutely wild Lamborghini Huracan!
So let’s see how the two compare. Starting with the Rimac, it rolls up with four electric motors that combine to put down 1,914hp and 2,360Nm of torque. It’s equipped with a huge 120kWh battery, but as a result, it’s pretty heavy, weighing in at 2,300kg. It also comes with a proper hefty price tag, costing around £2,000,000!
Next up we have the Lambo, and it’s had a whole load of work done to it, including a fully built engine and gearbox! As a result, the 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 can produce 1,800hp and 1,500Nm! What’s more, it’s a whole lot lighter than the Rimac, weighing just 1,650kg!
So how will this one play out? The Lambo may be down on power, but will the weight difference prove decisive? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!

Props to JM imports for bringing a seriously tuned car which doesn't fall over after just 1 run. And Carwow have just been amazing lately, a video a day lately and now new cinematics, pushing on toward 9 and then 10 million subs.
Seriously. Most of the "tuned" cars we've seen on here turn out to be absolute turds. These were some really good races though.

Damn that Huracan is a crazy build. Nothing about that car is stock yet it's so reliable being a 1800hp setup. Hats off for keeping it so close to the Nevera throughout. 8.7 second quarter mile is a seriously quick car.

This race doesn't look so dramatic and fast due to how close they were, even though any of these would annihilate most other cars. Just shows how amazing the Rimac is and what an amazing job JM Imports have done to the lambo!

The fact that a NEVERA is a 5100lbs car vs a 3200lbs Lamborghini, is what makes it really insane. 200hp difference but almost 2000 pounds difference, and the rimac still gives the middle finger. I honestly thought the Lamborghini was going to win hands down! That rimac is a beast! Don’t underestimate the power to weight ratio on the rimac, it’s a SLEEPER! Didn’t expect it to do that good!

The stats will make you think the Lamborghini will destroy the rimac! It just doesn’t make sense on paper to lose to a rimac lol that rimac is a sleeper as far as performance delivery goes! It’s much quicker than anyone thought! It shouldn’t be that fast with only 1914hp weighing more than MOST family sedans.

2,300hp vs 1914hp, both have awd, gemera is about 500kg lighter though per Christian himself on the jww channel review of it.
It should be very interesting as koenesigg didn't take to the nevera beating his cars very well. 😀

The Rimac is insane, obviously, I've seen this very car go up the hill climb. However, can we just appreciate the fact that the Lambo managed to get ahead immediately in the first rolling race, on pure throttle response alone, against an electric hypercar? That's a very well setup Huracan
Not sure about that. In that first rolling race they launched and the Rimac immediatley went ahead in the overhead cam (7:58). Then there was a cut in the video to the in-car cam and suddenly the Lambo is half a carlength in front...Just rewatch it closely, it's pretty weird.

I'm so impressed by both cars. First of all, the reliability of that build. 1800hp and ran without a hitch. But I'm most impressed by the top end of that Rimac. It just keeps going. So unexpected from an electric car.
electric is just as fast, if not faster overall, than combustion engines. People need to realise that. Battery technology and price are the only things holding them back

Wow I think this is the first time I have seen a meaningfully tuned car that actually performed extremely well and didn’t explode. Usually you see these tuned cars with 1500 horse power that can barely get sub-11s quarter miles and have tons of excuses or drop out after a run or two.
It's great for Rimac that Matt and carwow are giving them so much exposure and "air time". Love every single drag race of the Nevera

The way that the Rimac continues to rip after 300km/h is just insane. Mental even, considering it weighs the same as a Land Cruiser 300. Which brings me to the braking... how the hell did it manage to stop like the 800kg lighter Lambo?? Physics seem to work differently for this car!

I'm by no means an expert but maybe the brakes get help from the motors (acting as generators, braking the axles even more)?
You might shocked to realize that in the 400 km/h to 0 stopping test, the Nevera stopped from 100-0 in the same distance as a Porsche 911 GT3 RS. That's, AFTER already stopping from 400 to 100 km/h, already shaving off 300 km/h with tires and brakes hot as hell, and it still stopped from 100-0 in the same time as a 911 that weighs 900 kg less does. The brakes on the Nevera are insanely good.
The center of gravity is much lower and more strategically laid out. Plus crazy brakes
This is because unlike every other electric vehicle. The rimac has 2 gears allowing it to re apply all that power 😈

The craziest thing is how easy the RIMAC is to drive. No drama or fuss - you can easily do crazy acceleration and speed and the electronics handle everything perfectly safe. Crazy!

A three time World Champion - once at 125cc and twice at 250cc, and in MotoGP he had 112 podiums with 31 wins.

The rimac is hella overpriced. A tesla model s plaid is not much slower while cost like 1/10

@@trephix yeah but the plaid is still a second slower and will never be quicker no matter how much you modify it. Can't just chuck a turbo and a built engine to make the plaid faster like you can with an ICE car

I would love to see more 1 mile drag races.
1 mile drags are only ever used to give a bias to the car with the higher top speed. Top Gear did this with the McLaren F1 vs Bugatti Veyron race. The F1 was kicking butt until it neared it's top speed sometime after the 1/2 mile point. The Bugatti's higher speed then gave it the advantage, just as planned.
Official drag distances are 1/8 mile and 1/4 mile. 1/2 mile drags are mostly used for high performance production cars as opposed to custom drag cars.

Looking at Rimac keeps pulling n pulling away at higher speeds is really fascinating considering EV are good at putting power at lower speeds basically. What a beast!!

I’d love to see a 2000+ hp UGR Lambo on the channel. I didn’t expect this Lambo to do as well as it did, even more so on the wheels and tires it had. Very well done. I think what is most impressive about the Rimac is how the 4 motors can manage the power so well.
Tbh any car racing this car should do it on regular street tires like the Rimac.
Anyone can show up with Nitro FC rear tires swapped race car and preburn em in bleech for instahook.
I'd love to see the Lotus electric car myself against this one.
1500HP Lambo's V10 almost good as Rimac electic 1900HP, -400HP difference, it so amazing that petrol smashes electric car in place where it should be )) Petrol ftw ! If it was not 5.2l V10 but Lambos 6.5l V12 that puppy Rimac would get smoked
@@barath4545 I doubt a top UGR Lambo would so happen to be in the UK anyway, I meant it more as a curiosity after seeing what this car did. I agree that whatever cars race should have at least relatively similar tires. It would be cool to see what it would take for an ICE car like this Lambo to beat the Rimac, UGR has Huracans up to 3500 hp, I'd guess that would run in down in the quarter even with a worse launch but it would be interesting to test different power levels to see what it would take to win. The Lotus would be cool to see and it would be cool to get a McMurtry Speirling at some point, the way that can launch with only rwd is insane but I've yet to see what kind of top speed it can do.
@@InegoMinblan the Huracan was suppose to be 1800 hp and over 500 kilos lighter, it put up a valiant fight against a much more expensive and superior car. Lamborghini v10 engines have been pushed much further than the v12 engines, like I just commented the v10 engines have been pushed up around 3500hp which is probably more than double what a Lambo v12 has ever made.
