The Hernández silver head joint with a wood lip plate might be nice to try.
I guess it would be a little warmer tone than all silver.

I haven't picked up my standard flute after getting my alto. I'm practicing Canon in D Johann Pachelbel its a nice tune and has a mix of note lenght and speed.
