    I don't think those sorts of things existed when I took up the flute many decades ago! :) I do like a nice light flute though, on the odd occasion I get to try one.

      It is so light. I think if hand problems were an issue this flute would be perfect.

    Great review. Seeing that the price is 700$ in Flute Center and a Gemeindhart student flute (for example) can be bought at the same price or less, I'd say that a metal student flute of some quality is better for a beginner.

      I understand where you are coming from. I think if it were just a bit cheaper they would be a great choice.

    Very impressive making a plastic flute sound that good! :)

    I’ve bought a Guo Tocco flute for a friend who lives on the equator. They are in a high temperature, high humidity country. The neoprene pads and lack of a head joint cork should be idea. There won’t be any issues with silver plate rusting off either.
    It both plays and sounds just fine for anyone except an advanced player.

      Great advice. I can see how it would be great for that type of environment.

      There are Guo's for advanced and maybe even pro players.... just not this one.

    • @DoctorFlute
      @DoctorFlute  Před rokem

      Yes you are right and they are definitely worth trying.

  • @PlanetImo
    @PlanetImo Před rokem

    Yes - it was less 'th'y with the 'piccolo' embouchure.

      I’m not sure I understand?

    • @PlanetImo
      @PlanetImo Před rokem

      @@DoctorFlute the ‘th’ sound. Like a hiss but with less ‘ss’ 😆 I have a tendency to make up words. Apologies. Like a long ‘th’.

    If a repair is needed are they being repaired in the US?

    • @DoctorFlute
      @DoctorFlute  Před 11 měsíci

      That I'm not sure of. If you buy from Flute Center they will do repairs but also there is a manufacturer guarantee. So I think you are covered.

  • @zipias
    @zipias Před 4 měsíci

    nice...but...what about the pads?!...do they need maintenance?...are they made of compound also? :/

    • @DoctorFlute
      @DoctorFlute  Před 4 měsíci

      That I’m not sure about. I’m sure you could ask the maker or even shoot flutecenter.com a question via email and get that answer back.

  • @potapotapotapotapotapota

    kind of like a more fancy Nuvo flute

    • @DoctorFlute
      @DoctorFlute  Před rokem

      Could be true. I haven't looked into the Nuvo. Have you tried one?

    • @potapotapotapotapotapota
      @potapotapotapotapotapota Před rokem

      @@DoctorFlute I think I have tried one but it was so long ago I forget what it was like to play one, they had been selling them at my local music shop I was working at before it closed down

    • @carolinehowell5203
      @carolinehowell5203 Před rokem

      Not at all. The Nuvo is effectively a toy. The Tocco sounds and plays ‘almost’ like a metal flute. It’s much better manufactured and plays in tune……using a tuner.
