My tahoe doing samething going 1st to 3rd took pan off saw accumlater spring broke and plastic piston broke thought that fix it but nothing changed might try this next that pan was tuff getting of lol
Does any body in the audience. I’m particular this type of transmission . Replacing this part would only serves gear changes. My problem is same transmission no reverse gear..,
If the band is this far gone, the drum needs replacing anyways. I guarantee you the center of it is wore down and you can see light when you put a straight edge across it. I’ve rebuilt a handful of 4l65e’s and not one had a drum that was reusable
I've got a 99 and I'd never sell it let alone give it away. Best truck ever made. Still has the original exhaust!

Thought i give update on mine was same as yours bought the long pin sonex makes its about 5/16th longer i have 2nd gear now

Do you know what the simultaneous abs and brake lights are for? I have the same ones replaced all wheel bearings and brake pads/rotors
Wheel sensor in the hub , wire broke or sensor bad .
Oh yeah can't work on it unless it's hot lol I do the same shit but I can't understand why !
Where you only missing 2nd gear? I still have 4th I thought this fix was if you had no 2nd and no 4th.

It's possible you think you have 4th gear and in fact do not.

Oh and I have to manually down shift it or it slips unless I come to a complete stop

It aint the right drum anyway , stock drums are junk from the get

@@cojluk2000 Not likely. This servo and the pin inside it applies pressure to the 2-4 band that holds the drum which is held for those 2 gears.
