    I live in Russia , in the North of the Amur region . I am 59 years old . I have a Japanese ,,Yamaha XT250 Serow,, 2017 V. From my house to Yakutia 56 miles . In September , I went to the taiga to pick cranberries . When I drove 22 miles from home, my light bulb lit up ,,reserve,, . I collected a bucket of berries 10 kg. and drove home on a bad forest road . There was enough gas to get home !!! A very good economical and reliable motorcycle . I really like him . Thank you for the video ! I wish you happiness and good luck !

      @@kd_enterprise3404 Thanks ! The berries are delicious . I have 2 daughters , 1 son and 2 grandchildren and 3 granddaughters . I 'm taking my youngest granddaughter Anya with me to the taiga . Anya and I collect cranberries , cranberries, blueberries , cones and mushrooms for all four families . On ,,Yamaha XT250,, we are going where I am on my ,,Toyota LC Prado,, I will never go ! All my life I have worked as a driver of truck tractors , dump trucks and buses in the areas of Yakutia and the Far East . And now I 'm having fun in retirement . The wife laughs , says indulge , you deserve it !

      I bought a motorcycle,,Yamaha XT250 Touring,, with a trunk , hand protection and windshield in June 2023 in Japan at a BDS auction with a mileage of 12,200 km. and a score of 5 points . With customs clearance and delivery from Yokohama to Vladivostok , and then to the city of Tynda , it cost me $ 4,100 . The color of the motorcycle is similar to yours, only more beige and on the tank it is written not ,,XT250,, but simply ,,Serow,, . Unfortunately , it is now impossible to buy a normal new motorcycle in Russia . In our stores you can buy new only Chinese motorcycles and Indian ,,Bajaj,, . Alas , sanctions ...... 😬

      @@TRAKKER252 Yamaha makes good bikes, I don’t think Japan had much of a choice in the entire situation. Japan also had been selling around 50% of its snowmobile products to Russia. Yamaha will no longer produce snowmobiles I believe 2024 will be the last year.. It’s all ridiculous. Yet in North America almost everything you buy is made in China, it’s extremely rare to see made in USA or Canada… none of it makes sense…. Anyway, glad you got the bike and fortunately they are very reliable…

      @@kd_enterprise3404 You said everything correctly . China is everywhere now . But I try to live normally . I have cars : ,,Toyota Land Cruiser Prado,, and,,Lada Granta,, . Motorcycles : ,,Yamaha XT250 Serow,, ,,, Izh Jupiter 4,, and,,Honda Tact AF 75,, . Outboard motors : ,,Yamaha 3 amhs,, and,,Mercury F15,, . I try not to use Chinese technology . Chinese technology is slag . But I really respect Chinese medicine . Before the New Year , my wife and I will try to go to China . Just to heal and relax . I 'll watch your videos this weekend . I am very interested in nature and life in Canada .

    Looks like you're near Tweed - maybe we'll cross paths one day (I'm east of Kaladar along 7). I have a DRZ400 but have been thinking about getting an XT to replace my wife's TU250X so she can join me on the trails. If I didn't have the DRZ I'd probably be looking at one for myself too.

    On my XT250, my gas light comes on around 170 miles.

    That would be the one thing this bike truly needs. A proper fuel gage. Perhaps the new models have them.

      It might be helpful, I’m just so use to filling up before a drive and making use of the trip meter, and fortunately the reserve is adequate to get you somewhere…. If you notice when it goes on… 😂… have a good day, thanks for watching and the comment.

    You got about 90-100m b4 the light and a safe 15m after the light.
    What I do on mine is reset the 1st trip meter after every fill up and when it gets to 80-100 miles I stop to fill up.

    assuming that had 1.8 L on reserve ... I would say yes.. I have seen Javanese videos and they been getting up to 40km/L. They seem to be ridding 60 on spedo mostly due to lower speed limits in Japan

    • @kd_enterprise3404
      @kd_enterprise3404  Před 2 lety +2

      Yes, the fuel light comes on with 1.8 litres left in tank. The difference compared to some bikes is it’s just a fuel low light, it’s not really a reserve like on some bikes where you physically can turn the fuel to reserve. I kinda like the old school style honestly. On the xt if you don’t notice the fuel light then u have no hope, whereas with the old style you can run out, and flip to reserve.

      @@kd_enterprise3404 On bikes with electronic fuel gauge it is even worse. it is just small gray bar flashing. I had VanVan 200 and it had a an orange light ( only 1 of 4 status lights: fuel, nutral, turn signals, long lights ) fuel light, I liked it .

    • @PeterCichoszewski
      @PeterCichoszewski Před rokem

      I just acquired XT250 and did 250km from very full till reserve light come on. Stopped at a gas station just 2km further and only was able to put in only 7.35L Since you only made 42km on a reserve .. I am thinking that maybe the Canadian version of XT250 has the 8.5L as stated on Yamaha website is so. The good side of the news is that maybe your fuel consumption is lower than you think. Mine calculated at 7.35/2.52 = apox 2.92 L/100km. If I get chance I will test how far I can make on reserve light.

    • @PeterCichoszewski
      @PeterCichoszewski Před rokem

      I had a chance to test how far on reserve.. and got 80.2km. Maybe the sensor on mine is at different sport.

  • @SantaFeVman

    So when the fuel light comes on you don't have to turn a petcock valve to reserve gas?

    • @kd_enterprise3404
      @kd_enterprise3404  Před rokem +2

      No valve, so you need to watch for light…. I don’t mind the setup because it has two trip meters, I leave one to register the entire summer, the other one I reset when I fill, it’s predictable when to expect it on.. it’s both good and bad… this is the first bike I’ve had without but I got use to it.

      @@kd_enterprise3404 Thanks for clarifying, guess I should read my manual. My bike is new to me, just a couple of weeks old. Was going to buy new and found a used 2019 with only 30 miles on it. Paid thousands less, I'm reliving my childhood having this fun bike.
