  • In this video you can drive along on the D1 and D8 roads from the center of Split to the smaller city of Trogir, which is about 30-35 kilometers to the West.
Split is beautiful historic city in the Dalmatia region of Croatia. Back in the day it used to be a single fort our castle, of which a large part is still preserved. Much of the city is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site and worth visiting. You may recognize some areas of the city from the famous Game of Thrones series.
Split is also the 2nd largest city of Croatia with about 160.000 inhabitants. It's right on the Adriatic Sea with the A1 motorway connecting it to the rest of the country. The A1 motorway is about 10 kilometers from the city and located uphill. The D1 expressway connects travellers between the A1 and the city.
Trogir is a small city with only 12.000 inhabitants but also with a significant history and beautiful town center. It's basically nestled on a small island and features an old castle and beautiful cathedral. A lot of the town is also enlisted on UNESCO.
Both cities are connected via the D8, the long coastal road in Croatia. For this part it has a 2 x 2 alignment for the entire section between both cities. I hope you enjoy the drive!

Been once in Split, in 2009, very beautiful city. We came from Mostar to Split and then headed to Dubrovnik, so I never drove on this section, to Trogir, thanks for sharing it, greetings from a roadtripper from Germany!

Mercedes-AMG C43. Yes it's quite thirsty but I can average 8-9L with regular highway driving 😄
