    Fantastic video! Question -- when switching back and forth between apps, do you find said apps refreshing? For example, if I'm in Instagram and I toggle over to the Messages app, when I come back the Instagram feed has completely refreshed and doesn't stay on the portion of the feed I was on when I left. I have this issue with my 6Pro. I also agree that they should do a smaller Pro size. My favorite sizedPixel of all time is the Pixel 5. It was absolutely perfect for me and my hands.

    Thanks for the video. I tried the pixel 8 pro and returned because Verizon data speeds in my location was abysmal 10-20mbps. I wasn’t to happy about the phones inability to use face unlock when lighting conditions are not good, and then when you have to rely on the fingerprint sensor…well it’s not the best. What’s your opinion about the phone since the release of the Samsung 24ultra.

    • @itstheBMAC
      @itstheBMAC  Před 6 měsíci

      Thanks for watching! Face unlock on the Pixel 8 Pro is camera-based. Any use of an IR-blaster like the iPhone has would require a larger "notch" or "pill"-shaped cutout in the front display as opposed to just the "hole punch" cutout. I thought the fingerprint sensor was a good backup option and that it works rather flawlessly for me. You can always try rescanning your fingerprint! My opinions on smartphones don't typically change with new releases as I like to review each individual product for what it is. I do plan on reviewing the S24 Ultra, however, so be on the lookout for that video soon!

    Thank you for the video! I am a P8P user, bought it in preorder. These days, my SOT is more like 5-6 hours, idk why, on release was much better. Easily scratching on the camera bar metal part. Tensor G3 by performance is a bit weak in my opinion, cannot really play Genhin on it for example. Honestly wish I could return this phone somehow, I still get some mildly frustrating bugs too. It could be a great device if these things are not a problem.

Maybe even the size of the Pixel 5 although it's just a tad too big for me personally. And my family use the temperature sensors our the P8Ps pretty much daily with our children. It's very accurate in temperature reading especially if you use it on the carotid arteries.

      @@mackmccord3743 yes because the technology has changed if you compare a pixel three XL to a pixel eight Pro, the eight pro arguably is going to be more powerful. It’s the same way how if you take a super computer now and you compare one to a 1980s or 90s super computer it’s going to change, there’s a very small demographic of people that want small phones phones are very powerful where you need them to have enough space to hold more battery hold more cooling and hold other things. There’s a reason why you look at game console such as the Nintendo switch where they made it ultra thin and small, but they don’t jam pack it with super powerful hardware because you would need more space to cool down the machine and a bigger battery to support it.

    What did they pay you for that video?
    I sent my Pixel 8 Pro back because of the following reasons:
    - selfies and food pics look incredibly pale and bland
    - in Teams or Zoom calls Autofocus was not working properly, the camera was switching between my face and the background once in every second
    - the quality of the front-facing camera is pretty mediocre in general, I saw phones for half the price doing much better than this
    - after work I couldn't use my phone because the battery was below 20%
    - charging from 20% to 100% took over an hour
    Those things are unacceptable for a 600$ phone. The Pixel 8 Pro costs 1300$ for the 512 GB version. It's not that I hated everything about the 8 Pro. I absolutely loved the OS, the security features and usability. Loved the Buds Pro too, in combination with this phone it's a dream. Back camera was excellent as well (as long as you don't want to shoot food pics without having to manually post-process the pictures). But, the competition in that price range is just too good.
