I love my 8 Pro. I find the battery life a lot better than the 7 Pro in my brief time with it. I’m very happy with my purchase!
Which memory version did you buy?
How much is charging time?
@@PrabhatXLR81h30 0-100 and battery 7-8.5 sot hours
How long does the 7 pro get and how long is the 8 pro battery
Well the battery is new so of course 😅 I remember when my pixel 6 was easily lasting full days. Now I'm struggling for 12 hours after 2 years
The best objective review out of all the big tech CZcamsrs.Thank you 🙏🏽
Cheers!
Just bought the 8a Pro yesterday ...upgraded from Pixel 2a (big jump, but loving it).
... Great vid/explanations & details/demos. Your fam are gonna love those phones !!!
You're one of the most honest reviewers ... Please don't change ❤
man i like your reviews, they are honest, simple and straight forward! no bs and that is just cool! thanks for your effort.

I'd probably go for the regular Pixel 8. I currently have the 6 Pro, and I wouldn't look into upgrading it if it was reliable. Sadly, it's not, the screen stays black from time to time. But as much as I like the telephoto lens, it's just too big for my taste. The regular Pixel 6 wasn't much smaller, that's why I went with the Pro back then. But now the Pixel 8 finally arrived at a very nice form factor.
Get well soon! and thanks for the video and speedy recovery!
Reasons to use thermometer:
1/ A bath for your young ones. Double check temp.
2. Babies milk - as above.
3/ Cooking, check cooked properly.
4/ Elderly family, use to check tea, coffee, soup, etc to make sure it is not too hot.
5/ Check the fridge to see actual temp is correct.
6/ In a fire emergency, check temp of door to see if fire behind it.
7/ poke it out the window in cold mornings to see if you need an extra jumper.
8/ Skating on ice, check for weak (less cold spots).
9/ Meals or hot drinks to check at restaurants and coffee machines to see if cooked or hot enough?
10/ If at work to check your employer is not beaking the law with a lower than expected environment.
11/ If you have pets to check temp if they are not their normal self.
12/ check temp of fish tanks.
13/ Check electrical stuff like plugs to make sure no overheating.
14/ to check windows or doors to see if there is any energy gaps.
15/ Checking temps of stuff like slides on hot days for kids.
16/ check for insulation by measuring inner and outer walls.
There are probably many I missed. But it could be useful for some?
This list is freaking awesome 😂 seriously LOVE it.
When learning to steam milk it's good to get a feel of how hot 65°C milk feels as the milk breaks down when it gets hotter. So you can measure a few times just to get more confident.
Also when brewing coffee you can measure water temp to get f.e. 90°C, so you don't have to buy a 150$+ kettle.
I think many niche use cases, but people disregard it because they don't need it and everything needs to be made for them and only them.
I have a fish tank just tried it. Awesome list!
One of the best practical reviews out of the lot! Thank you
Thank you!

Really good review and I think that not having a 5x potrait option sucks as that would look clean af ❤
But you still can turn the 5x photos into a portrait on google photos....actually, any photo and with surprisingly good results
Hello Mr TechChap. In these reviews I would like to see camera comparison with 2 or 3 gens behind, as example the Pixel 6 Pro or the Pixel 5. Many people (like me) would rather upgrade every 2-3 years than every year. But I would still understand the choice with comparing only the last gen in future videos.
Have a good one, thanks for your videos :)
That’s a great idea! I’ll look into doing this
Yeah, +1 to this. I went from a Samsung Note 2 (my first smart phone ever) to a Pixel 2 to a Pixel 5. The longer I can keep my device, the better, so I'm really curious not about the incremental increase but rather what the new phone can do that the old, perfectly functional phone can't.
me too - considering upgrading from 6pro....
The one thing that seems to have improved quite noticeably is the video quality. Together with the generally better build quality and the long term support, Google seem to be going the right way with the Pixels
Pixel has stepped up video recording significantly... But at the same time the iPhone just added Log support, so is still massively in the lead (provided you know what you're doing with that footage!)
*audio recording at video is awfull*. distorted, isolaed, noise cancelled, just unnatural comletelly, Especially in quite environments
The longer support is important. In a year or so the value of the phone should have dropped, but still has 6 years worth of updates left. €860,- for the pixel 8 is a lot of money for a lot of people. but in a year they will probably have some sales dropping it to €500,- which is much more reasonable. This way they can sell old stock. Only thing is that it might interfere with the pixel 8a in terms of budget so they should price that accordingly to keep it as the budget option. €450,- would be a reasonable starting price for the 8a.
@@lucvandriel2408 pixel is giving me a trade in value of 1/4 of new.price for a p7pro that is 11months
Fu Google turning into apple at a crazy pace
I'm glad I went with the pro. I was a little concerned about the size and while I can't use it one handed. The size isn't as bad as I thought it would be. The camera edge makes the phone much easier to hold. The build quality is really nice, the brighter screen is great, and the long term updates give peace of mind. The watch bundle made the price easier to digest as I wanted the watch too.
For me, I feel like the curve corners make it much more manageable to hold.
Got the Pixel 8 Pro yesterday for me and for my wife. Haven't had a Pixel since the Pixel 4 and I believe this is the one to get. So far so good and we're both loving it.
Which memory version did you buy?
Great to hear!
@@credomargonem6352 we both got the 512GB version, Bay and Porcelain colorway
Great review ! That's what I'm looking for.
Great review. Actually, the best review I've seen for the Pixel 8 Pro!
it would be amazing if you could use the temperature sensor in conjunction with the cameras to create some really weird sciencey stuff
Well detailed review 🔥 i hope some camera magic would make it to d standard 8 and older pixels with tensor chips. The cat 😺 part is my favorite ❤🥰
Great review, once again though we are done over in phone prices here in the UK tho
As usually you always do the best reviews, 10 out of 10.
Excellent and much appreciated review.
The most awaited Pixel 8 review 🎉❤ Tech Chap - The Best !!!!
Mine just came in the mail and I cannot wait to fire it up. Been wanting a premium camera smartphone for quite some time and feel like I made the right decision! The Galaxy A71 that I am upgrading from has served me well with great battery life and durability, but the camera and underlying SOC are so underwhelming that I've stopped taking photos. Looking forward to documenting my life experiences again in proper fashion!!
Great review. Highlighted both the strengths and weaknesses. Thank you! Only had my P8 Pro a few days and waiting for the PWatch 2, but would agree with everything said. Love the phone, and love the Bay blue colour, but not sure I'm brave enough to go without a case. Even with the lovely mat back, still slippery.
best review. great presentation and visuals. just so good.
Excellent video Tech Chap - having Motorola Android... how good is the 4K Telephoto video shooting subjects in distance - using Optical Zoom at 2x and 5 x ? is it detailed or wash out lane content
What kind of lighting do you use for behind your television? I wanna get that lighting. Looks super slick. Great vid too
You are slowly becoming my favorite tech reviewer.
Nicely done! 😊
Fantastic video. I love this smartphone and I'm sure it will get better and better over time. Excellent work
Excellent review. I'm watching this video on my 7 Pro with a battery saver warning popping up. I'll be setting up my 8 Pro this weekend, and it'll be interesting to see just how much better the new phone is over the old one.
Gonna get my bay blue next month and I’m so excited 😊
Excellent video Tech Chap - having Motorola Android...Shooting photos with this device and want to use the AI Gizmos of magic erase, dynamic touch up ? - do I need to purchase a Google One / Photo and storage account ? ( From my motorola states this service starts at min £1.90' ish per month ).
Great presentation. You touched on all the important points to consider when choosing a phone.
I pre order my Pixel 8 Pro and waiting for it. Nice video. Thank you.
Great balanced review as always , I picked one up and really happy with it .
Most of the bugs of the 7 pro are gone i.e. bad fingerprint sensor, screen issues etc .
Sold my 7 pro and been using an s23 ultra for the last 6 months , very close between those two . I prefer the rounded edges and lighter weight of the Pixel , the new screen is brilliant. Will be interesting to see if the battery can get close to the mighty s23 ultra
I'm in the same boat. Sold my 6pro for the ultra and in afraid to get the 8 pro in case the battery is poor. Keep me posted on how you get on 👍
I have zero issues with my p7p, including finger print reader is perfect..ain't it the same one in 8? It's a new phone so hopefully will stay that way

Great vid thanks - is the porcelain colour have silver rails or are they like off white/champagne? Thinking of upgrading from P7pro thanks
You're a wellspring of motivation! 🌟 - "Love what you do, and the rest will follow."
Awesome full review keep it up as always brother
Finally, one more rather honest review beside Marques Brownlee's. Thanks!
I think we should now distinguish between "full" and "partial" updates!
Yes, Apple gives 5+ years of updates, but has a noticeable tendency to artificially cut features that would be technically possible without problems to give customers a reason to buy the new devices.
So, we should judge companies on whether they really deliver full updates (if technically possible) or artificially withhold individual features from older devices.
My 8 pro will be becoming tomorrow. Super excited going from the 6 to 8 pro definitely will test everything
I've pre-ordered the Pro 8 and awaiting it sometime this week.
Awesome review! Did you notice any fluidity issues that is being reported on Reddit? Any frame drops where it didn't on the P7P?
Glad you noticed the oversharpening issue with the front camera, my hypothesis is that because of the lack of AF in past models (and base p8) the software it's tuned to compensate the lack of sharpness that implies not having AF, something the P8P doesn't need but that tuning it's still present, for now the best way to use the selfie is to shot RAW, the issue isn't present in raw, but it takes more steps to get the photo obviously, hope google fix this sooner than later.
Your hypothesis, OK Mr. engineer
Watching your videos jut makes me so happy and sets my mood) I really hope that you and your family are happy in your life.
Bruv..... The shot with the dove was lit! 🔥 🔥 🔥..... Nice review as always!
Ok, I want to buy the small guy pixel 8 as I have a small hand🙃, but I want to know if there is any differences in the new software (photo and video editing techniques) between the 2 phones, I mean can you please tell me if there is something missing in the pixel 8? or may be make a video comparing the software of the 2 devices?
My pro in Bay is coming Tuesday 🎉😅 I can't wait... Free watch too so I'm happy enough
You’re so creative glad ur feeling better
Thanks JD! 👊
Thanks for an excellent review. For some reason the pidgeons marching perfectly in rhythm at around 16:21 looks so creepy and artificial to me. Is this because the Google Pigeon March (GPM™) feature is turned on or do they just do this normally?
Hey Tom. Your videos are visual delight.
Fab honest review, you're my go to reviewer..and local! I struggle with the cost of these, I'm keen on my photography. My present S20FE with optical zoom was the best until it started smouldering whilst charging, any replacement suggestions without the cost ? Of the three Samsungs S2, A41 I've had they have all let me down ...
The video looks so good!
As a long time iphone user I’m definitely tempted to buy Pixel this year ) Thanks for the review, Tom )
4:25 Love that llama cup ❤
Can the temp sensor be used for hot-spot indication or IR pics when combined with camera? I'm an engineer and inbuilt ir pics would be a game changer for me.
Just a question. Are all the new features you mention for the 8pro available in the UK ? Or is this video for a US audience.
I swear your reviews are the best in my opinion in every aspect
Wow the video quality is amazing.
Nice review video
Great job of explaining the camera AI and the controversy around it
The hysterics around it has been insane. It's not like the AI is generating brand new faces, it's something you could have done yourself in Photoshop if you had the skills. I'm delighted by it, because I lost my husband in 2020, but now I finally have a wedding photo where everyone is at least looking at the camera. On the actual day the sun was in our eyes and over 6 photos, there was never a photo where everyone was smiling or everyone was looking at the camera. I still don't have one where everyone is smiling, but at least my primary picture no longer has people who are looking down or off to the side. That's where this feature really shines.
I bought the Pixel 8 Pro this morning, just finished installing it. I would have liked all the features of the 8 Pro in a smaller body since I prefer smaller phones but I am happy with it anyway :)
The temperature scanning feature is designed to monitor your other devices and detect overheating issues, similar to what you might experience with an iPhone 15 Pro Max recently LOL
I would imagine the thermometer will sync up with Google Home as a secondary or tertiary remote sensor amongst other temp-based apps.
16:04 what do you mean the selfie camera now supports auto focus, did you have to manually pull focus when taking a selfie up to now??😅
I have the 8 pro and love it so far.
It's a bit disappointing that it doesn't have video out over the USB-C. So a Software Update with something like Samsung Dex isn't possible.
Could you do a HP Spectre review by any chance,?
Am really loving the 8 Pro...kind of wish I had the blue now, but the black is cool. Get well soon.
That's the most sexiest black 🖤 phone ever I absolutely LoVe it ❤ keep it it's awesome I promise 😂
Hey Bro nice work! Can you please test the screen display of the pixel 8 pro ? I noticed that the screen is so dark when it's on 50% brightness (comparing to the S23 ultra which is much brighter --- 40% Brightness on S23 ultra = 70% of Brightness on pixel 8 pro // however, on 100% they are identical). Thanks!
Could we have more reviews or discussion about the connectivity with a phone, especially the pixel lineup. They are notorious of having a bad modem. A phone is worthless if the connection is not consistent and slow. I want to know how is the modem on this phone. Is it maintaining connection?
I’m really thinking of trading my iPhone 13 Pro Max for one. It’s a crazy difficult choice for me for some reason. One min I’m like “done I’m convinced” then the next “but I don’t know do I really want one?” And this battle goes on endlessly it seems.
Do it,I have 15 Pro Max and Pixel 8 Pro.. This Pixel is the best Android. Even is faster then 15 Pro Max
I’m in exactly the same position. I’ve had the Pixel 8 sat in my basket on the Google Store for 3 days 😂 I’m just not sure what to do
This is the iPhone 20.
Tom - the best review of the phone I have seen. I have a Tesla model 3 also and my 7 Pro would always randomly stop charging on the wireless pad (I presume this was a temperature related issue). Does the 8 Pro do this for you? Thanks. Matt
Cheers Matt! I need to try it for longer on the charger, haven't used it that way much myself so far. will report back!
The best feature imo is the audio noise reduction, the meh temperature feature was a missed opportunity to do something better, if it had the Flir infra red system, that would have been way cool.
Some of the AI features are cool , some are very gimmicky , still good to have though.
Nice and honest review, thank you. I got a good deal on the 8 pro when switching phone service provider, which means I get the phone and a watch for the equivalence of £795 (I'm in Denmark). If I sell the watch it's all good. I'm switching from the OP 7 pro, so I expect it to be more than enough for me. Not a gamer, don't really shoot videos and not a huge "screen on time user". However, there are a couple of thing that worry me. Does the phone heat up during normal day to day use? Is there a lot of freezing and lacking? How about battery time, is it good? Also, I'm worried about connectivity issues, WIFI, Bluetooth etc. It's funny how some people say that there are no issues, while others complain about many things. I mean, it's the same phone, right? It's a brand new phone, so I would guess that, a lot of these issues will be fixed with updates. All new phones have issues... I would really appreciate if current 8 pro users would share their experiences 🙂
Hi, you are the first CZcamsr I see gives a reward to Xiaomi, in it was a little surprised for the best camera.
This new Google phone looks very interesting indeed, however, I still prefer the price to come down a bit more before I upgrade my phone. Is it possible to do a full comprehensive cameras comparison between this 8 pro and the iPhone 15 pro max when you feel better? By the way, get well soon, mate.
I'm getting 1.5 did on a full charge. Love it. On the 8p you get 30w charging and that feels like a huge difference from the 7p. The 7p charging was so slow.
hello, which camera and lens do youuse for recording videos?
This is my first pixel I can't wait to use it
Great review! I upgraded from the Pixel 5 to the Pixel 8 Pro in Bay. Loving it!
Good that you pointed out the improved aspect ratio of 20:9 because of the width difference it brings. I still like the squarish corners. So Series 7 is still the better looking Pixel for me.
The 7 pro lies a loooot better in the hands. Also the screen is wider and more beautiful

So I've been a apple user since the first iPhone (I was 21) since then I've always used apple. I pre ordered my 15 pro and apple watch 9 got them and was bored so I thought about it and when I saw the keynote from Google I was impressed and I preorder the 8 pro and got the pixel watch2. I've been using the pixel 8 pro and pixel watch since Wednesday (they came a day early) and I love them!! I put my iPhone and apple watch away in the box. I think I'm team pixel!
How did you read your temperature through the phone? Is there an app for that?
The pixel 8 pro is stunning. The watch 2 runs out fast but the phone with screen at 120 and smoothness on it lasts 2 days. Got 7 hours screen time still at 38%. I started pixel at 4a and whenever been without always went back. Speed isn't the fastest but the features make up for this. Love the flat screen always preferred flat screens. Watching content is crisp and clear. A1 Google your heading in the right direction ⬆️
wtf is that xD I'm getting like 4-5 hours SOT with my Pixel 8 Pro and I'm at like 20% left
No draining issues? They say the pixel faces draining issues in standby
Nothing on the secure face unlock or mentioning the fingerprint sensor? Both big deals / issues on pixels.
You are the best tech CZcamsr to me I really appreciate your work keep up 🎉❤ I will be here when you reach 10 million inshallah
Thanks for the review. Could you please give me a link to the Thermometer app that you use in your review? I can't find on my Play Store.
On my 8 Pro it was pre-installed
@@Thetechchap There is no Thermometer app on my new Pixel8 Pro. The Photos app does not have the magic button for moving an object to a new location in a photo as you have demo'ed in the video. Is it because of regional restrictions?
@@Thetechchap thermometer app appeared the other day while the AI aide icon popped up on photo editing screen just a few minutes ago. Erase action is available, but not move action yet. Hope the full set of AI features will be coming the soonest.
The audio eraser seems to work somewhat well from what I can tell in this video, but I hope they can work on the algorithm so that it will not muffle your voice as much and make it more clear while simultaneously cutting out the background noise.
Nice review as the guy side clearly the only difference between the pro and the none pro varient is 3 things the size the tomomiter and the 5X lens camera 🤳📸 I am definitely going to get one was thinking to get the iphone pro max but I am loving the 7 years update and the AI features totally amazing 😮😮😮

Pixel 7A is terrific value for money
I had soo many issues with the 7 Pro. Everyday i had signal quality issues. Then one day while i was MILES from home the display decided it was done with. When i took it in for repair the technician said they do a lot of pixel repairs so much so that they cannot keep the parts in stock. The lady in front of me in line was having issues with the pixel 7 screen. The phone was also very hot all the time no matter what you were doing on it. Tensor is inferior to snapdragon processors in day to day tasks.
Switched from a S23 Ultra. I never used super zoom outside of a party trick and never touched the S Pen. The smoothness of software and the flawless integration with the free watch makes me an early fan boy!
I wanna switch but I'm worried about the battery life, how do you compare both?
What is this flawless integration with the watch you speak of?
@@Joker-yu5kp I am a pretty heavy user. 100% in the morning and I'll have about 20% when I go to bed. The Watch 2 is around 27% when I go to bed with always on display on both and all sensors running constantly on the watch so not too bad!
@@foysalahmed3881 Well when I had my Bluetooth Galaxy Watch, I would get delayed notifications, sometimes nothing at all on either the phone or watch. With the Pixel Watch it hasn't missed a beat! My phone and Watch go off at the same time every time and app controls work perfectly
@@Joker-yu5kpthe s23 ultra definitely has longer battery life, I'd say around 25% maybe. I made the same switch, I wanted a slightly smaller form factor, round edges and hadn't used the pen either. Performance is less, cameras are probably about equal I'd say. I like the software of the pixel more.
Why would you buy a 1000 dollar phone and run it at such a low resolution....
I’m a iOS user because of how flawless iPhone work with other Apple devices. However I want this phone so much more than the new iPhone.
Call screening sadly doesn't work in all countries. I live in Norway, and it doesn't work here; even if I turn on the English language.
Samsung's bixby actually does work. Still just in English, but it has been severely help for me, with spam calls especially.
That's not right nor is it OK Pixel should work the same everywhere or the price should DROP!
