I'm having a problem with my battery always showing 100% after charging. I've read that others are having this problem. I have to go through sooooo many steps to get it to the right percentage. Have you had this problem???

Nice review but the finger print reader isnt bad. I hear you about it being bright at night but mines have always worked well even as good as others.

I have this exact colour. Great phone except for the overheating issue. Hope Google pushes OTA update to fix this.
Bought it as an upgrade from Samung S10e.. I'm very happy with it :)

Unfortunately I cant find any other of the same form factor.. so I settled with the slightly larger Pixel 8

@@ExtrangHero, both the s23 and s24 are smaller than the P8. Only other option would be the Zenfone 9/10. I switched from a s10e to a Pixel 5 and found the S10e size to be nicer...but all of the above options are bigger so need to get some handson time before I buy something.
I had the same phone the galaxy s10e upgraded to a pixel 7
I've got the pixel 7. I think I'll wait to upgrade until the 9 comes out.
I have a pixel 7 and one of my only problems is that the tensor is not exactly the greatest. That's why I would prefer something like Snapdragon like Samsung but other than that the phone is like one of the best smartphones I've ever had and I barely have any problems with that
How is the battery life after updates and signal problems?
It's good, full day easily (early morning to late night) with moderate use
hi, what about slow focus camera issue?
what about the heat issue, seems like just regular use makes it hot at first. will it get better over time?
My personal experience I haven't gotten heat issues. Maybe because I don't play lots of games or watch a lot of things on my phone.
It gets no warmer than my Motorola G Stylus. I haven't had any modem issues either. It's a good phone.
have u tried rebooting into safe mode? miraculously fixed my heating issue
I only shoot raw pictures with the pixel 8 pro, there is no going back. It brings the photography from a solid 9 to a stellar 11. I use color profiles from cobalt colors and I edit on a 28 inch 4k srgb Screen. The pictures look great even here, and I also have a canon 5dm3 that I use rarely because the pixel is always with me.
How's the dynamic range with Raw? I gotta think Canon and Nikon have better DR
I still remember my first experience with the pixel... I didn't believe a phone could be so sharp.....

Remenber the day the different between the bigger and the smaller one was only about sizes, but still same camera performance..
Google artificially restricts camera options on the 8 from the Pro, Samsung doesn't with the S24 series.
Personally, I wish they would drop the whole glass back and bring back the budget. Friendly plastic or at least make a frosted plastic to make it premium because some of us don't want a case
Forget Pixel dude buy a Nothing 2a it's way better.
The Nothing has a 6,7 inches screen, is a biiig phone, with worse camera (smaller sensor), not in the same category. @@jevonsims900

Just got the pixel 7 today
Only concer I have with my pixel 8 is , battery drains faster and heating issues and also Tensor performance compared to the competitors they have to improve a lot
With regard to the price. The Pixel 8 Pro has three prices, It varies depending on capacity of storage. 128 GB / 256 GB / 512 GB UFS 3.1 storage10. The 512GB capacity is 999 £.

Yeah good job on the video and you're right never pay full price for a pixel they always go on sale. My main gripe with my pixel 8 is you know as long as you're on Wi-Fi a lot of the day you'll get good battery life but if you're on data all day your battery life takes a gigantic hit more like 3 and 1/2 to 4 hours max that's not to say I don't like all the cool features that come with a pixel phone I do but yeah the processor in the modem are okay they're you know will get you by but they're not anywhere and comparable to say like a Galaxy s23 or s24. So I could easily recommend the pixel 8 to anybody that's on mixed Wi-Fi and data and wants a smallish phone and especially I would recommend you get it and used market as you can find the mint condition one at a pretty good price without a lot of legwork.

Will spend a lot more time wifi then on my unlimited data so no problem.
Bought Google 8 from Voxi for £10.80 a month for three years works out just under £400 and much cheaper then other contracts which cheapest seen £29 a month and over £600 from Google direct. The network Voxi though not been great yet can't get Sim work or register but phone worth it for just £10.80 a month.
pixel 7 speakers had less bass, what about pixel 8? (non-pro)
They're hollow and tinny sounding. I've tried all of the recommended fixes. P3a sounded fantastic

I love smaller phones even tho im using a Samsung Galaxy S24 ultra. I also have a Pixel 8 and love the size. I actually would like a smaller one tbh lol
I'm planning to buy a pixel 8 in a week or so cause I love almost everything about it. But I'm still seeing a lot of complaints about the battery drain problem when using cellular data and I use cellular data a lot. Is that problem still there? Did Google fix it somehow? Let me know please 🙆
Don't bother. You won't be getting any new updates for AI features with the standard Pixel 8. Either get the pro or don't get either.

The phone takes a couple of weeks to get used to your charging and usage habits, and then you notice the battery getting better.

I just got the 8 and I'm hoping it relieves all my qualms with Samsung trying to pry its fingers into my life.
Large phones don't make sense to me. It is so convenient using a phone with one hand and not struggle to reach things with my thumb.

Same😂 i absolutely love my pixel 8 i put my iphone 15 away in drawers as a back up as i now use my pixel 8 as my everyday phone now and i was so worried about getting it as i absolutely hated the pixel 6 it was far to chunky i only had it a few days before giving it to my mil so i was abit worried getting the pixel 8 but i tell ya im so glad i did lol x

I'm afraid they aren't stereo speakers at the bottom. 1 x MIC and 1 x Speaker. Google uses the small phone speaker at the top as a "pretend" 2nd speaker. Use your ears and listen while playing a movie.
How does the Pixel 8 compare to the Asus Zenfone 10 in terms of long-term use (5 - 7 Years)?
I haven't used the zenffone 10 before. So unfortunately I can't give an objective answer
The Pixel 8 gets 7 years of both security and OS updates. The Zenfone 10 gets 2 years of OS updates and 4 years of security updates.
So for long term the Pixel might be better.

Not a lot of the time. Actually only time is when you turn off smooth animation

The Pixel A series is usually really good. If cost is a concern then I think it's something to consider but also Amazon is running sales on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 7a right now so check those out!
The Pixel 8a is going to be the same cost as Pixel 8, if not even more expensive. Better off going for something else as P8(P) sucks

The S23 when it comes to detail but the Pixel 8 is brighter which in turn it's better outside
Small phones are really weird though. You can't watch movies on them. They're not good for multimedia
The light sensor is under the screen near the left top side, so it gets annoying when you have a call and want to use the phone.
Just moving your finger to that side blanks the screen with ongoing calls. This sucks balls, but besides that I love the Pixel 8

It looks like a fun little device. Easy going. Doesn't take itself too seriously, still works well enough primarily as a phone. Can do some casual point and shoot street photography, nothing major.
I can see the value and appeal of it. Bummer the display clips blacks though.
It really isn't any better than a Pixel 5. But the pixel 5 was pretty good so that's good enough. Easy breezy Pixel 8. That's the non-pro version. If someone wants a casual, small, stylish and affordable phone for general use the regular pixel is for them.
Buy it if you prefer Stock OS & 7 years of support.
Skip it because Gemini Nano is not coming to pixel 8 due to hardware.

Pixel 8 is pretty good in normal usage, but unfortunetlly it is trash in gaming. Lagging even in Brawl stars
Your review does not address the weaknesses of the Tensor chip and the phone's issues with heating specifically in warmer climates. This has been a consistent complaint from Android users.
@@rangerkayla8824 Actually I have always been an Android user. Had a phone die on me due to a similar issue so the prevalence of these complaints over the Pixel 8 has been a concern for me. Its funny how your default response was to call me an iPhone user without any proof. Can't stand Apple and the lawsuits by the US and EU governments are long overdue.
You don't need to work hard to find reviews raising concerns about the Tensor 3 chip and the overheating issue. For the price Google is charging for their phone, those issues should have been resolved. There has been a marked improvement in the Tensor chip and the AI capabilities work within their ecosystem. In some cases it is better than Exynos. However there are limitations in maintaining 5G connection in addition to the other issues raised. The Tensor chip is still vastly inferior to Qualcomm's.
Maybe you should listen more instead of jumping to conclusions. You also do not speak for every Pixel user. Instead of being defensive or using surrogates, Google should address these issues. Hopefully the Tensor 4 will be better.
Exynos/Tensor, modem, battery life, finger print scanner, bugs, not reliable hardware 👎

I so wanted to give android many chances..as i am so used to the OS. But Pixel 5 burnt me, bad exper8ence with exynos before that..then motorolas lack of water proofing fucked me over. If its compact then poor battery life. Ir u habe to carry huge slabs in your pocket.i just gave in and got iphone 15...someday when i trust pixel hardware again..i might come back
