Pixel has the best HDR. Period. From an S22 Ultra user who is happily using gcam on a daily basis. Pixel nails the HDR in all corner cases almost always.
what gcam are you using ?
Perhaps dumb question but does GCam result in photos that look more like they were taken with a Pixel in terms of color and exposure?

@ervisvisha6926 Shamim 8.4.400.42 v20. I followed an xda thread for Exynos 22 ultra to get this one. Default settings were just OK and then I found a fantastic config from someone in that thread which totally sold gcam for me.

Don't forget iPhone and pixel got months of software updates where galaxy is just released. Those high exposure and red tints can easily be fixed by an update
If you wait for the camera to be fixed with an update, you will wait longer. The s23 still has a crap camera since it came out

@@Akcy09 i don't know about your S23, mine takes pictures that some people often mistake for an iphone 15 pro max picture, the only thing that i can complain of in the S23 is the video capability, not so good
@@iceynuel9066 Such a thing is not possible, I have seen many examples of photographs taken with the S23, it is truly disgusting. Samsung cameras are the worst now
Feels like overall you can't really go wrong with any of the phones with how capable they've become nowadays and the average person would have a hard time telling which phone took which photo/video, I think personally I'd go with the S24 Ultra just for the versatility of the camera setup and I prefer Android over IOS.
It's problematic when different individuals perform different in different situations.
As a person who has used pixel and Samsung s series both, pixel is superior. Samsung tends to overexpose anytime it gets a chance, and it actually irritates.
this has changed in s24 where they want to keep everything natural, thats why i was leaning into samsun's processing everytime there were no ppl in the frame
and not to mention the video performance is just the greatest this. year even when compared to iphone 15, id say the only time iphone won in videos was in the front cam

s24 is going to be better than iphone 14, ip 14 is absolutely similar to iphone 13 with the same cpu, same cameras and same design (in this case just buy the 13 it's the same phone and cheaper). i have a 15 pro, but i'd rather go for an s24 instead of an iphone 14|13 because it's way better than those two with 120hz and triple camera. @@mahimodi6418

@@Gabriel-hv1yu i do not know about others but whenever there is detailed video comparison featuring my favorite devide, the Pixel 8, I always watch the video till the end to see where does the Pixel stand.
And I'm so happy to see that this time the Pixel 8 comes 2nd and in the previous video the Pixel 8 was 1st.
So it tells you a lot about the camera brilliance of the Pixel 8.

Great vid, however, when demonstrating slow motion, you should film something like flowing water.
Moving, or spraying water is something that we are all familiar with in terms of the speed in which it moves.

I was considering to get 15 pro from my 13 pro but after this video i am eyeing on pixel so maybe pixel 9 series can convince me to get back to android. I wish pixel bring ability to shoot in log profile like iphone 15 does..
honestly tho there's no clear winner imo. all 3 keep exchanging blows in one category or the other. I think this is the smartphones camera peak for the next 3-5 years.

I own a Pixel 8 and and shot a bunch of videos on cinematic mode on the Pixel 7 last year that looked better than the iPhone 13 Pro. Compared the ones with my P8 and iPhone 14 and it was hard to tell

Seems to be an honest review! I love my s24 except the camera part, whatever the settings I put, the most of the time its blurry and less detailed than my girlfriend s s23.. hope it will be patch
It would be great if you will make more videos about google camera mods on mid tier phones and flagships.
For example "old" OnePlus 9 Pro with LMC8.4 mod makes muuuch better photos than more recent and expensive iPhone 14pm. And even better that 15 pro (easy to proof)

I totally disagree with you about the stabilization category! Yes, the iPhone had more of the slight up-and-down motion, whereas the other two were more still, but that’s not a bad thing imo. Try walking or running, this happens with your eyes too! What DOESN’T happen is the constant slight jitters and weird exposure inconsistencies that the other two Android’s were exhibiting the whole time, as a product of electronic image stabilization as opposed to Apple’s more reliance on optical/sensor shift image stabilization. It makes the iPhone look WAY more natural.
Also, with the stabilization modes, please consider the quality of the overall video (detail, exposure). The iPhone clearly won there.

I don't understand why sometimes the subject is not in the same position, considering the fact that all 3 phones take same picture, same exact moment.
She is using a tri pod phone holder which can cause all three phones to recieve slightly different lighting and angles which is important in comparison videos, also each phone has slightly different zoom than the other.

The iPhone's face brightening with no shadows might look appealing to many but it's not real. Google has the most natural shadows on the face but it may look dull.

So I am actually confused, each phone has their strengths and weaknesses, what should i go with then if I want the best camera among these three? Also @ 16:29 you said that the galaxy takes the win in audio followed by the iphone and in last place we have the pixel, but you have both pixel and iphone 0 points.

Depends on what you want the most, I guess. For main camera point-and-shoot, Pixel is still on top, but that's subjective. Other people may prefer the iPhone or Samsung or any other phone's results.
I agree, the sound should have been 2 points for Samsung and 1 point for Apple and 0 for Pixel. I think Sony and maybe Xiaomi or Oppo are the best at audio.

I would have loved the camera of the S24 ultra, to bad the phone felt like a small tablet in my pocket.... Had to go with the S24 Plus after that. I hope they return round corners on the Ultra models someday..
First Samsung had a blue tint problem z this year it's a red tint problem. Idk why they can't fix tbis but i goke they do really soon
Just came from iPhone 13 to S24 and must say I’m less than impressed with S24 camera quality. Photos of landscapes and objects are good, photos of people are mostly detailed, but in my experience the colour ratio is just so off. I hate how ghostly pale I look on my S24 compared to my iPhone 13 which was much more true to life. Also alters the colours of certain things like curtains in the background, a birthday cake I took of photo of recently was like an aqua bluey green but showed up as just bright blue. Night time photos with the selfie camera are blurred in my experience even despite the lengthy processing time it takes to try and get it right. Extra disappointing considering I’m coming from an over 2 year old phone to a brand new one and it just feels like a downgrade.
I don't know about you but the iPhone camera takes too bright and orangish photos or you can say warm, which is subjective to the people so chill

Hi, how is lt called the device you use to hold the 3 phones?
if you still didnt got the device name, then just use google lens or AI, you might get the exact product
S24 comes with the smallest main sensor among these three...that's the reason, S24 looks less detailed than other two...Samsung should use bigger sensors on their flagships,not such smaller craps.
That's not a valid reason lol, they're all flagship phones, Apple's used 12mp for years

Incredible seeing Samsung overtaking iphone with its mic and video capabilities. I've switched between ios and android (different ones) but I just started getting Samsung phones now and I got to say. As a person loving to film, I was wary of the Samsung because I've seen what others posted. But I did get a super pleasant surprise. The front and back camera, the stabilization and the mic. Never did I think I would actually write that it is better than the iphone. And the camera options... Damn, I switched from a iphone 14 (regular) to a samsung s24 and the only thing I miss is imessage, but that's now coming with apple opening up to RCS.. :) Or not imessage, but the quality of images and videos being sent. So I'm just a happy camper as of now.
If anyone is thinking of switching from Iphone to Samsung, but insecure, trust me, you'll get adjusted quickly. Although AI features is nice, circle search and the translation over calls is the only things I like. And the "slow-mo" feature on videos :D
All these are great for the price they are offered But in portrait photos and videos samsung and apple only .

Why are you biased towards iPhone 😂😂😂 Its either Pixel or Samsung that is better. You constantly give 3 to iPhone, such as in the night mode. Which is horrible and you looked like a ghost.

Pixel front camera video looks sooo weird. Like it’s upping the contrast too much and tries to do weird stuff with the face. iPhone front facing looks awesome. In most other categories pixel is awesome.
