    Thats crazy! Another to be wary of is new/old stock items with batteries inside, even though brand new and sealed, they have usually corroded. Been stung so many times by this.

      Good reminder, got a couple of things like that. I guess you just have to weigh up whether to open it up, depending on the value.

    One of the best things I bought was an old van that I broke for parts. The glove box was broken so I thought I'd just take it out & junk it.
    Anyhow the crack in the back had allowed a polythene bag with £500 in to slip behind the dashboard.
    The van only cost me £100.

      I've been scammed by EBAY UK and their associates beware anything over £1000 is not covered by eBay UK or anything purchased or deemed then stolen becomes a CIVIL MATTER not a Crime

    Interestingly, I bought a job lot of PS1, controllers, games etc at an auction. Before I listed it, I thought I better check the games to make sure the right ones were in the right boxes. Sure enough. Some of the games cases had p*rn DVD's in them. Bloody good job I checked them.

    Excellent story & quite a scary shock for you all 😱
    I don’t very often buy unused new to resell but I have got some new unlisted items in storage so this will have me thinking 🤣
    I did find a really nice vintage Harley Davidson collectors 🔪 with leather pouch hidden in a secret compartment under a table.
    Liked the little forgetfulness touch at the end 🤣👍

    Haha, small scale.
    A very good friend of my daughter used to get massive rounds of gouda cheese ( 1 to 2 foot in diameter)from one of his friends at the golf club, they used sell it in blocks in her pub. They got a fresh one one day and opened the box to cut it to find that the cheese had already been been cut open and 3/4 of the inside was missing in a big square shape.
    They haven't sold cheese since

    No nothing like that. I've bought some second hand items that have had a pleasant surprise in them, e.g. a Subbuteo set with an extra team that I sold separately, a travel bag that contained some nice gold (stage) jewelry. Also some games that where not sealed and I thought used, but when I got them home opened the box the game parts where in sealed wrappers. Even then I'd describe them as 'unused' not 'new'. I like to find Emma Bridgewater stuff in the field. I've also visited the factory shop in Stoke. I'd recommend it if you're ever passing that way. They have a nice cafe and you can buy seconds, ends of line as well as new and latest stock.

    I think the reason is thats because seeds are not illegal in the uk the sellers end up selling their seeds all over the world and require stealth to get the packages through to other countries. . lots of the companies even offer stealth shipping as an extra

    hello , I am new to your channel and wanted to ask why you wrap the items in cling film….i can understand that they are more visible but it cant give them much protection can it? i suppose some and keeping them dust free ? i just wrap breakables in paper and perhaps write on it

    • @campcop9214
      @campcop9214 Před 2 měsíci +1

      I guess it helps to keep them clean and dust free, with no need to re clean them once they sell. Probably helps with scuffing abit aswell, nothing worse than selling something only to find it's not quite as described as when you originally listed and filed it away

    • @Married2Reselling
      @Married2Reselling  Před 2 měsíci

      It’s to keep things from rubbing, and keep sets together. If we bubbled them for storage, we’d have to undo it all before shipping.

    When I first saw the headline I thought someone had contacted the police about the swords you had! That experience must have been scary and to have had something similar happen twice more....Could really affect someone through no fault of their own. And yes Faye I did roman numerals at school, but then I went to a grammar school in the 80s so we did 2 years of Latin as well lol.

    Both times this has happened to me, the seeds were stashed in amazon basics camera cases with fba sticker barcodes on them. I was very close to accidentally shipping one of the cases GSP to spain. That could’ve ended very badly. It was pure chance that i checked the pockets of the apparently “opened never used” case. On the plus side, I was absolutely off my tits the following summer 🤪

    I knew you ran a 'joint' business but this is ridiculous 😅 .The seed dealers are devious, packaging/ sealing equipment is available cheaply and making an item look innocuous is simple. This means any item we buy 2nd hand capable of concealment is vulnerable. The home 'gardening' industry is a 'growing ' sector, so this is going to happen more frequently.

    Another great video, never found seeds but I have had an issue with stolen goods. When you buy at bootfairs you never know where goods have come from, luckily it all got sorted amicably, but another lesson learned. Thanks for the info. Jane x

    Why did yo look up the buyers house value

  • @andrewfinch7453
    @andrewfinch7453 Před 2 měsíci

    To be fair not just seeds. when i do house clearance the nightmare is when a person who you meet at the house is the dead persons daughter . She tells you all must go and best price . You give it then two weeks later , three large vañs to take it away amd then you get a call from a solictor BRING it all back the daughter didnt have permission to get rid without consulting the younger siblings , You then find yourself in the position of buying stolen goods and selling stolen goods all in one day 😂😂😂

  • @siturl5834

    All those reactions are totally understandable. That’s the risk of buying to resell…. Your less sure of the origins of the item.

    First time I’ve watched one of your vlogs and only came to you because of Chris and Belle. I am shocked this happens as I’ve never been involved in this sort of thing. I won’t put my opinions on here as it’s not the thing to do but I would not of been happy if my 10yr old got anything that was drug related

      They are no more dangerous than tomatoe seeds. Not dangerous at all. And i presume your 10 year old hasn't got a hydroponic setup that would be needed to actually get them to grow.

    Sounds like the buyer just decided to be a scammer...if the item was sealed, what else could it have been....they probaly opened the item, wasnt happy with the item itself, but needed an excuse to return it... sinister

    • @Married2Reselling
