/// ABOUT ME ///
Iâm Catalina, a Spanish teacher and language lover. Iâm passionate about helping people learn Spanish, and I believe that everyone can achieve their language learning goals with the right tools and resources.
Iâm also a big fan of travel, and Iâve been fortunate enough to travel to many different countries around the world. I believe that travel is one of the best ways to learn about a new culture, and Iâm always looking for new opportunities to experience different cultures through language learning.
I was born in Colombia and I am a Spanish native speaker. I moved to the United States when I was 16 years old, and Iâve been teaching Spanish ever since. I love helping people learn a new language, and Iâm always looking for new and innovative ways to make language learning fun and effective.
I started my website and my CZcams Channel to share my love of Spanish and Travel with others. I hope youâll find my resources helpful and inspiring. Whether youâre just starting out with Spanish or youâre looking to improve your fluency, Iâm here to help you reach your goals.
During my 17 years of teaching Spanish, I spend a lot of time specializing in Spanish language acquisition & learning Spanish as a Second Language. I have always continued my education to advance my teaching ability. Therefore, I can help you learn Spanish, share my expertise as an educator, collaborate with people worldwide, and share my travels.

Hi teacher

You're very welcome! Thank you for your support!
THIS IS AN AWESOME VIDEO!!! thanks for helping me learn Spanish!
Happy to help! Have a super day!
BRILLIANT LESSON THANK YOU
So glad you liked it! Thank you
gracias el professora, can i ask why comprar was not the conjugated verb and instead instead tener was?
Great question!
Are you referring to minute 8:13? Maria tiene que comprar âŠ.
Comprar is not conjugated because what this sentence says itâs Maria has to buy ⊠comprar means to buy. In this case we have to leave it in the infinitive to not change its meaning. Tener was conjugated because Maria has to (she has to) .
This is part of the lesson tener que + infinitive. Here is the lesson: czcams.com/video/0RMOzABkShg/video.htmlsi=lMwLWAlHGtKUks5D
Hope this helps! Have a super day!
@@TeacherCatalina gracias! Thatâs exactly what I was referring and youâre explanation was perfect mucho agradecĂ going to watch the video now
No problem @musicoverseer glad itâs helpful. Thanks for watching the videos đ
Thanks for the great job of explaining the more advanced topic of indirect objects. I do have one question though (I'm still a beginner trying to understand everything I see). At 12:09, what is the difference between saying "a Maria y a Pepe" vs. "para Maria y Pepe" ?
Hola Dave, Great question! If you said para ... the sentence structure would change a bit. In that case you would say: Yo preparo unos sĂĄndwiches para Maria y Pepe. Para is used to indicate the recipient of something, in this case the sandwich. Way to go learning Spanish!
@@TeacherCatalina Thank you for your sharing your valuable expertise.
Con mucho gusto Dave. Glad the videos are useful.

Sounds like you will be traveling to Mexico? ;) such a beautiful country. đ
@@TeacherCatalina My main reason for learning Spanish is to better communicate with the co-workers I have where I am the business manager of a construction co. in Nor Cal. We have about 15 employees, most of whom were born and raised in Mexico. Not to mention most of our subcontractors and some friends who I don't work with too from Mexico. But....I'm also a hardcore mountain biker and want to visit either Costa Rica or Columbia to mtbike & learn more. I don't have a date for this trip yet nor have decided on which country to visit first.
Excellent TC :)
John muchas gracias John. Hope you and your family are doing well. Feliz SĂĄbado.
Dear Cat, you use les and Maria and Pepe together. Why? It's like saying 'Im preparing two sandwiches for Maria and Pepe them.' Isnt it weird ? Proper nouns and pronouns that refer to them are used together?
can you please explain when you added indirect object pronoun then why didn't you remove a maria y a pepe as you did in pedro example.
Hola. Great question! The subjects can be removed once we know who we are talking about since the pronouns implies who we are talking about.
