    Thanks a lot for making these videos, they help a lot. I still need your help on a specific case that I encountered today with a translation that I didn't expect it will turn out the way it is. Here's the sentence: "You like this movie, right?" I expected it to be translated as so: "Te gustas esta película, ¿no?" but it was not :( They've actually omitted the letter 's' on 'gustas' to end up being: "Te gusta esta película, ¿no?". Is it because the question is addressed to someone to whom you wish to show respect and formality, thus the personal pronoun "Usted" is being used here?
    If this isn't the case could you please explain why is this correct ?

    • @SpeakSpanishWithPaula
      @SpeakSpanishWithPaula  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you 😊
      Regarding your question: the verb “gustar” is used in third person whenever you want to express that something is pleasing to you.
      - Me gusta…I like
      - Te gusta … you like
      - Le gusta … he / she likes
      - Nos gusta … we like
      - Les gusta … they like.

      @@SpeakSpanishWithPaula Hi, thanks for your reply! Is this a particularity that only the verb Gustar is known for or there's other verbs alike? If so, could you please tell me what this rule is called in Spanish grammar.
