The fact that you commit to falling for us to learn. I appreciate you man
The camera man is always a myth, a lengend
Tommie, your videos are great! Really helpful! We are getting back into snowboarding after a few years break, and are in our mid 60’s. Neither of us can ride switch yet but we are going to give it a try on our next trip. We went to an indoor slope last week and found your turning tips worked really well! 👍’Tap your knee, squash the bug! Open the door!’. We keep repeating it going down the run! Great stuff Tommie!! Loving your work! Ray & Sue (The ‘greys on trays!!’) 😀🏂🏂
In the same vein as the chairlift forcing myself to take the tow rope switch helped a lot.
I turned by bindings 180 degrees and rode a whole season goofy. The first few days was different. But now it ride switch without even thinking about it.
that part at 3:24 reminds me of ‘simple’ drawing tutorials that start with ‘step one: draw a circle’, ‘step two: picasso’. likewuttttt.
This is the perfect video Tommie. I was planning on spending a full day riding switch this weekend.
I want to thank thank so darn much Tommie.....I've only been snowboarding a few times with no lessons and I'm already carving down black diamonds at high speeds because I've been binge-watching these videos....hands down funnest thing I've ever done.... I skateboarded years ago but I don't think that skill helped much..... Snowboarding is a different animal. Absolutely love it!
I can switch heel-side no problem, but have been struggling toe-side switch. Thanks for the tips!! They've been immensely helpful!
Awesome video. Thank you very much
I just started snowboarding, after watching a couple tutorials with you I feel like I've improved so much. Thank you!
33 picked up snowboarding after 16 years and wouldn't be sending it down the mountain like I am without your videos. Thanks for the awesome videos and great instruction!
Yeww
I love youuu! Thank you! I watched a dozen of your tutorials they are super useful! And I love your style of riding! You're are my hero
Great tips as usually, switch riding has been my biggest focus last couple seasons, plan to use these to help.👍
Great intro brother it was really funny seeing you on the ground , thanks for the tips i will definitely be practicing those drills. Thanks for everything my friend.
Be safe men.
Thanks for your amazing content
Great tips again...love the vids
Just what I needed!
Going to try these tips next time I go thanks for the great content as always
Thanks!
Love the content!!! ❤️
this is gonna help so much, i found out after last season, that I've been riding "goofie" as my primary ride style, and ive never been comfortable opposite way, wish i found this sooner!
awesome vibe in todays video !!
Solid content, tips, and advice . Most of this I was already doing when learning switch teaching myself, but I’m def going to go through this whole video tomorrow on the hill.
FANf'ngTASTIC VIDEO......the b roll, cinematics and video quality so good but the content even more awesome!
Hey Tommy, thank you so much for all of your tutorials videos. My skills have improved dramatically by just watching your videos and practicing what you teach. I think you’re the best instructor via CZcams. Hope to meet you one day man.
I just got back on the board after 8 years, following a broken tailbone from boarding, and your videos have helped me feel so much more confident. My first ride out was triumphant and I'm looking forward to the remainder of the season and years to come! Thank you
You are awesome. I love all your videos. I am learning a lot from it.
Thank you, your the man!
Wow , Tommie awesome video again man... Thank will try next time I snowboard 🏂😉
Dood, I went through the front side 180 progression today and nailed my first 180! This is my 1st year on a board and all of you have helped me to progress so fast.
Great video, TB.
LOOL at the saying good bye but not leaving eachother ahahaha
Tommie's soundtrack always bumps!!
I just recently started learning how to snowboard. Yesterday would be my 3rd day. I do have a slight skateboarding background however without your videos I do not think I would have excelled so fast. I want to thank you for the hard work putting these videos out. I plan on copying and pasting this message to all the CZcams videos that helped me so don't be alarmed if you see this on multiple of your videos.
you have the best technical contents
Switch on and off the lift…. Now that’s effin’ genius! That thought never crossed my mind. Don’t know if that tip will help me carve better switch rather than constantly skidding my turns. Really need to clean that up. Definitely going to try these. Thx again
for those out there just beginning, don't be stupid like me and just take off riding regular once you learn. for almost 25 years i don't think i ever linked a turn. i could take off and land switch and use it to get out of a jam, but that was it. i'm guessing about 10-15 yards max. now i ride it on flat spots on the mountain and it saves the legs.
Thanks to you Tommie I’m about 70% there on my switch riding. I went from feeling super awkward when riding switch with zero confidence to no more awkward feeling and feeling much more confident (still not 100% though). I’ve pretty much followed your drills (the knee steering was the key for me) but I still need to work on the full range of movement, Ollie’s, and the airplane drill.
I try to do at least one run switch now but in the beginning I dedicated a whole day including getting off the lift while riding switch. Practice makes perfect;)
Shout out to Tommie! Your videos have MADE the difference for me. 3 days on the mountain and I'm leaving pencil line carves on some easier blue runs. I'm controlling speed and already playing around with pressing and some butters. Truly, keeping your techniques in the forefront of my mind have helped me progress faster than I could have ever imagined possible! I've fallen in love with snowboarding and I think its gonna turn into my new passion. There is nothing like it! You're a fantastic teacher and role model for the community. If you're ever at Crystal Mt. WA, I hope I run into you! Never stop being awesome! Keep sending it bro! 🤙
love it lets go
Quality content 👌
Forced myself to ride switch for 3-4 runs today. Painful but reminds me of the early days of snowboarding, which is also quite fun 😆
Knee steering made such a big difference for me. Still working on the muscle memory to maintain weight on the front leg and not yet lazy about it
Lol almost like you followed me around to do those intro switch attempts!
When I started my son on his board I set him up goofy and he now rides regular and switch with no problems.
Good stuff...
Open door ,crush bug ! Is why I love him haha . That made me ride switch ;)
Just spent today switch for first time. The toe to heel side is a leap of faith. Weight still very much in back foot and need to shift more towards front. Hopefully comes with more confidence
Bro! I was at keystone on schoolmarm giving my buddy the airsquat exercise having him go straight last weekend! I wish i would have seen ya cause i woulda said hi! Much love brotha!
i got bodied on hard pack the other day and it definitely made me LESS AWESOME lmao. my ribs still hurt like 5 days later.
Saw you at copper today!
Hey tommy :)) went snowboarding for first time in 2 years during christmas and dedicated practice to riding switch which I have barely done before. So far not gonna lie it feels very weird on goofy and I don’t feel comfortable at all. On my normal stance I can ride prob faster than anyone on the slope with ease and good turns but switch is like completely restarting. Hopefully i’ll be going back during easter and incorporate some of your tricks cause I wanna be able to hit jumps and ride both ways 💪🏼💪🏼
Bro the walk the lift trick is such a simple trick but it work so well now i ride goofy but when lifts i walk with regular because i got so used to it 😂😂 come visit us again and big snow soon when they go back up and running.
Great video! You misspelled "improov" in the title but besides that, excellent 😀👍
Come to big bear on Sunday Monday and Tuesday I need some tips and training.
Tommie great vid, is there a snow board you would recommend for some that is intermediate?
yo Tommie what do you think of the lago double barrel? I'm not due for a new board for a while but it was one of the ones I was thinking of getting. It always looks super consistent and lightweight whenever I see people ride it.
Life hack. Hardee’s chicken tenders are awesome and easy way to make chicken and waffles.
The switch chairlift riding is so hard! I really have to fight my body to not just turn around 🐧
Great video. BTW hope you got that Dragon goggles for free as their lenses are not durable and you can scratch them very easily. I was very disappointed with NFX2 ...
Hey Tommie what is the brand of your glove with zipper? I remember you mentioned it before in old vids, but I couldn't find it. Thanks in advance
do you need to have similar binding angles for switch or would it be harder to not have that
Could you please tell me what is your bindings setup for?
I'm gonna come back to video when get some fresh powder lol
Hey Tommy, I love your videos abs they have helped me improve and now I feel like im a solid intermediate rider. Im looking to get a good all mountain board that can bomb but also jib and butter and hit small jumps on the run. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks
I forgot to say I have been considering the Capita Mercury.
I rode the chairlift switch for that exact reason and fell like a newbie getting off lol. I mean I am a newbie but not that new.
Yo dude I’m in summit county! What resorts are you riding this week?
Tommie can't even fake being bad at snowboarding 😠
What a problem to have just being such a steezy snowboarder.
@@tommiebennett I commented before watching the whole video 😅
I'm just mad I didn't start riding until after I was an adult.
Yooo i wish my normal riding looked like that lol
Hey Tommie. Love the videos. Quick question. What are some good angles that I should put down in my bindings if I'm just beginning to ride switch?
+1 same question!
sorry watching with CC but are both bindings angled out slightly? thanks
I think the best way is to ride a shit ton of switch. Ride all day.
Hey man what board are you riding?
I will definitely try it, I can't ride switch at all, what should be right position for bindings? Now I have 15 and 9
W/e feels comfy, I ride 15 - 15
@@tommiebennett i saw your advice long time ago how to choose right position by just jumping couple times without any gear and after that just still and check how does my feet land and feeling comfortable... And i it was 15-9 after that I improved my riding so quickly, now ready for next step I will follow your advice again 💪😎 it looks like you and snowboard are one whole unit 💪😎
🤘
New camera?
This was a gift to my grandson. He loves the stylish snowboard.Says it's the best one he has ever had.Worth the price.
Hi, do you or someone have a good answer for this?
I’m standing goofy on skateboard and surfboard and regular on snowboard and wakeboard! But the funny part is when I’m riding switch on any of the boards I find it very difficult?? 😂
Someone has told me that the dominant leg is normally back on the board and my right foot is my dominant, so that means that I am regular! But I will naturally put my right foot forward if I stumble, so that means that I am goofy? 😂
Hey Tommie I've had this question bouncing around in my mind for quite some time and was wondering if you could answer it for me? Is it a bad Idea to set up my front binding slightly more forward then my back binding? The reason I'm asking is because when I set up both my bindings on the reference point I find I don't have much stability and can't really do a squat (with the board I'm currently using) and If I were to move both bindings outwards to the next available stance it feels too wide. So basically I feel like I need somewhere in between the widest stance and Reference. P.S. I do not have an EST system.
Also you'd be the first person to make a video about this just saying ;)
It’s very uncommon to see people have a longer tail than nose, so if you don’t have a directional board I would move the rear binding and if you do have a directional board I would move my front binding
👍🏽
Bro I want my switch riding to look like that 😅
My problem is every time im riding switch my muscle memory fucks me up cause obviously the lead foot changes when going switch but my muscle memory still "remebers" wrong foot as leading one witch f's me up...
Fuck man I love you I've learned so much from yu
I always suck at turning with switch riding
Have you met Johnathan Buckhouse before?
@@tommiebennett Just another snowboard vlogger here in Colorado
Screw selfies!
Knee stiring switch turns ... malcolm moore did it first at least you could tag him in your description
Thumbs up for chicken🍗 and waffles 🧇
Here we go….
Pancakes…. Are the thing… waffles are ok… but pancakes what can I say… 🥞🥞🥞🥞🥞🥞🥞🥞
I suck ass at skating anyway.. so skating switch is gonna be rough
But u like cheesecake 😊
I think just Focus on putting weight on your front foot and think of it as your riding regular
way too cool..had to turn it off
Chicken and pancakes?? Dafuq dude 😂🤮
I noticed you took time to mention that "Chicken and Waffles" are your favorite food ever and the idea of pancakes wants to make you vomit. I would ask that you really consider what is happening here. First of all, you are paying someone to slaughter a sentient being (the chicken) who values his or her life. That bird doesn't want to be killed and the act is painful and violent and unnecessary. Just because something is "social acceptable" doesn't make it morally correct. Please educate yourself on non-violence towards animals and veganism. Stick to teaching snowboarding and not slaughtering animals.
Thanks!
Thanks!
