  • Improve your snowboarding turns and snowboarding technique by employing 'Torsional Twist' into your riding! In this video I teach you how to become a better snowboarder by using your knees and ankles properly. This important technique is often used by beginner snowboarders when they start learning, but then forgotten about as they progress. However it is very important when creating grippy short radius turns on your snowboard.

This is explained alot better than in most other beginner videos. You explain how to get the board on edge perfectly. Many videos say "use your shoulder" to initiate the turn which is bad, because later you want a complete seperation of upper and lower body. Turning with the "levers" (lower body) is an awesome explenation

I've not seen turns explained like this before. I gave this a try today and the responsiveness from the board almost startled me the first time I tried it. Everyone says "get on your toes" or "get on your heels" and that *sorta* works but the technique in this video works on a whole higher level. I felt much more in control today after working the board this way. Thanks from a grateful newbie.

Malcolm. Wow. I tried this today and it really brought my turning up so much! I come from a surf, skate and water ski background. I've been doing those since I was 8 years old and was even competing on an amateur level in skateboarding and water skiing. I surfed triple overhead waves when I lived in southern California. I moved to Switzerland and started snowboarding late last year. When I got off piste at the end of the season, the whole thing opened up. I was surfing again. But I didn't know how to work with the bindings. They seemed to prevent me from letting my feet guide the board. I've been listening to other CZcamsrs and nothing has helped more than this video right here. We got some fresh snow and the slope closest to home was closed, so I hiked up and tried this. Wow. I am suddenly on the next level. Thank you Thank you Thank you.

That was very nice and relaxing watching you go down the slope so smoothly from edge to edge 🤗

You're my savior. Watched this video before hitting the slope. I went from not being able to turn toe-side at all to carving in 6 hrs, and this is my first season snowboarding. Thank you so much!!!!!

My kids are not snowboarders by any means, but they desperately wanted to play with/learn to snowboard on our local sledding hills. This snowboard is perfect. It seems to be made well; is sturdy. The price was very reasonable for something we're just playing with. I will definitely buy two more; I initially only bought one for my 3 kids to share, just to make sure I liked it well enough.

This will be the 2nd year for my 3 kids (13,14, & 19) and this is such a great visual for them as they are still struggling to make solid "S" turns. I think this tip will be a game changer for them. Thanks so much for sharing!!

The lever analogy and using your knees and hips to control your movement is really working in my brain. I’ve watched a lot of other videos and they usually say to just point while leaning in that direction, and then using the shoulders to turn but like you said it’s a delayed movement compared to using the hips + knees first
