    A quick guide of how to unlock the speed and power for the new ENGWE ENGINE X eBike.
    Looking like the ENGWE ENGINE PRO, the new ENGINE X model has a very smart trick. You are aware that bikes sold in the EU "should" have 250W power and to only work in assisted mode (no throttle). Well we also know that 250W is slow, weak and we also like accelerators when we are on "private roads". So ENGWE solved this, they made the X mode that comes with just "250W" power and a non-working throttle. With a bit of "magic" you can change the controller settings and the bike will ramp up to ~1000W top power, while the accelerator would be enabled! So you can now have a bike for both words, EU compliant and of course FUN compliant. The goodies don't end here, if you dial in the code "EngineXeu" when ordering this from the official ENGWE site, you are also going to get a nice 100 euro discount!
    You can get the new Engine X with fast & free local EU shopping from: bit.ly/3RkKYCz

    I watched another guy's video about how to increase the speed and remove the limiter but he said that after you picked the speed numbers that you wanted, you should turn off the bike and then directly on again for it to save the new settings.
    But it never worked, the speed was still limited to 25 kph. Now I know why it didn't work, you needed to press and hold the i button first, and then turn off the bike. Thank you so much, now I love my bike even more!

    Hi Techtronic,
    Very good video by the way. I have a few questions, when you increase your speed limit to say, 30 mph will it kill the batteries quicker? I've noticed that my battery doest last very long when the speed is increased and using the throttle 70 % of the time.
    Is is it when you use the throttle by itself it kills the battery? Or is it better to use the pedal assist?

      The display & controller only allows maximum unlock speed of 60km/h, but it has nothing to do with real speed under load. On some models you can set the limit to 99km/h and they will only do 28km/h top speed :)

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  Před 8 měsíci +1

      The Engine X comes with a motor that can safely operate into 200-1000W range. The controller also can operate in two modes, limited 250W and fully unlocked which allows close to 1000W. So when you buy it for EU it comes locked and limited to 250W. By your own risk you can enable full power.

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  Před rokem +3

      It's a bit more complicated, the bike controller has a motor strength assistance table map. The power will be reduced when reaching the 25km/h thus you will not get full potential of it. Unlocking the speed will also set the motor strength to almost 100% (~around 1000W) and because you will not reach a limit it will use all that power. As when limited to 25km/h you do get more peak power when you are climbing a steep hill and you are slower than the limit.
