    As mentioned on another of your videos. I had an Engwe EP-2. The frame is made from an alloy and is not strong. When you fold the bike, all the weight of the front end is on the back end, just behind the hinge. The soft alloy is not strong enough to support that weight. After riding the bike almost every day, for 2.5 years, mine snapped. These bikes are a death trap waiting to happen. When I contacted Engwe, they apologised, and asked me if I wanted to buy another bike. They claimed they have strengthened their testing, but I haven't seen any specs on the alloy used.

    Just a word of warning. The bike you tested is prone to snapping and the reason is the brace at the top and bottom of the frame by the the hinge. On the top of your test bike the brace only goes from the seat post to about 3/4 length to the hinge and the same on the underside of the frame. They updated on later models by extending the brace to the hinge on top and the bottom making it stronger. THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW on early models. The same applies to early engine pro models too and EP2 pro I think.

    The motor is the same as the ep-2, just limited to 25km per hour..
    My question is since they measure the power going trough the motor cable here in the Netherlands, won’t the motor still pull 750w up to 25km/h? Cause that would mean it gets impounded here

    • @forcews
      @forcews Před 3 měsíci +1

      Then impound something from police too like radio or something or just deny impounding. Over excessive bureaucracy is enough already. 750-1000w should be norm hauling cargo not some puny 250w. Laws have to be forced to change that is matching with real world scenarios not some politician law from office who knows nothing.

    Great honest review.
    I own a Engine Pro, and I can disable the throttle and set the speed limit to 25 km/ hour.
    So logically, both Engine pro and Engine X are legal or both are not legal.

    • @TechMishka
      @TechMishka  Před 4 měsíci

      Yeah, which is pretty cool.

    •  Před měsícem

      I observed both at my local dealer, and X has a sort of plaque claiming it is compliant to EU something something, and electric engine is marked with "250W" (I'm not sure if you can limit power output in Pro?) As funny as it sounds it could be the one real advantage in case you are stopped for legality checks. You can just point at these as it's not very likely that a policeman will dive deep into settings details. That said Pro has hydraulic brakes. That makes you think should you prefer objectively safer bike betting on not being ever checked, or less safe, but visibly legal. Depending on a probability of such checks in your country you may want to chose less safe... because of the regulation intended to promote safety :)

    • @srennielsen4545
      @srennielsen4545 Před měsícem

      In Denmark the police dont care if you have disabled throttle or set the maxspeed to 25km. It is still not certified to eu/ce standards. Its like building your own bike and mounting a motor. There is still a lot of regulation to get streetlegal.
