With the release of patch 2.7 to DCS world and hopefully an increased number of new players being drawn to this amazing sim I thought I’d go over the basics for all of you wannabe virtual hornet pilots out there.
In this video, we will cover how to input TACAN information for the F/A-18C Hornet to navigate to ground and carrier based TACAN’s as well as aerial refuellers.
The purpose of this series is to help with overcoming the steep learning curve and make it as easy as possible for anyone new to DCS and the F/A-18C Hornet to learn all of the systems and weapons that the hornet brings to DCS.

@@Inzyman100 mate there is plenty of discord channels full of helpful people. If you like to play multiplayer with other people most of the popular servers have got their own discords for people to organise flights and things for sure.

Hey, as a fellow aussie i would like to ask what headtracker u use? Did u fork out the large sum of money for track ir 5 on amazon or do u use something else? Thanks
I use trackIR 5 but there are many other cheaper alternatives if you can’t afford trackIR
@@TorniQuetHD what would some of those alternatives be? I already know about freepie and things like smoothtrack, and there are things like delanclip but thats US.
@@willo1141 I know trackhat has got some good reviews or if you’re not too bad at DIY stuff you can make your own from CZcams tutorials. I got mine cheap off gumtree, it’s kinda half broken but for the cash I saved I don’t mind if it’s a little dodgey haha
Question, why does my rose and tail keep spinning when I enter TACAN? I used waypoints to fly to many airports because those ones don't have them so I enter LONG and LAT for those guys. Then I set back 44x for Kutasi but the rose and tail keeps spinning ???? wtf.
Sorry kutasi works now but 22x doesn't. Vaziani
TACAN has line of sight limitations mate, if you're too far away or its terrain blocked you're aircraft wont pick it up
