With the release of patch 2.7 to DCS world and hopefully an increased number of new players being drawn to this amazing sim I thought I’d go over the basics for all of you wannabe virtual hornet pilots out there.
In this video, we will cover how to correctly align your Joint Helmet Mounted Cuing System (JHMCS) for correct use with other aircraft sensors like the targeting pod.
The purpose of this series is to help with overcoming the steep learning curve and make it as easy as possible for anyone new to DCS and the F/A-18C Hornet to learn all of the systems and weapons that the hornet brings to DCS.

@@TorniQuetHD Awesome ^_^ Any tips on what you do to refamiliarize? I've used your tips to make an easy take off, contact JTAC, bomb some easy targets defended by an SA2 and SA9, and refuel mission, for when I've been away from a single plane too long.
@@ColonelAkirNakesh the next video coming out will be a consolidation video of the basics covered so far… that’s what I do to re familiarise myself with aircraft, fly some basic stuff to get back into the groove and then worry about the fancy stuff like bombing and firing missiles after
Hi thank you for another video just a comment I heard that once you do the last Roll alignment try no to look down and click align bottom instead Continuing looking FOWARD zoom out and click the align bottom. Avoid to look down while you are still align. Again I just heard that.

i have never done dcs jet fighters, and am tron between f16 and f18, which is better for a beginner?
They are both very capable at doing multirole so I would go for the one that you’ve always loved. If you enjoy the aircraft then get amongst it and fly it 👍🏻
The F-18 is more complete in DCS than the F-16 but when they are both completed it will be a very close race on what is the best overall at all of the multirole capabilities.
The main difference between the 2 is the hornet can do carrier operations, taking off and landing on the aircraft carrier is a very challenging skill to master.

Air start you shouldn’t have to do alignment, should be pre done
