This statue was not only wanted by Kobe fans, not only by Laker fans, not only by LA born n bred era but this statue was needed and it was needed for everyone in the world.

I listen to "the Captain" and we see what he has done post NBA, and it makes me sad because we know Kobe was on the same path. A leader of men, a creator of outstanding humans, someone you want to listen to.

I got to experience a meet and greet with coach wooden when I was a kid. One of the highlights in my lifetime. As a huge basketball fan I got to pick his brain a little. Kobe carried the torch for our generation. We cheered him, we fought him and we loved him. RIP Mamba 🐍
