Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is a sane voice in a chaotic, crazy environment that's widespread in America right now. Thank you to him for that ❤

You never mentioned Kareem's many books! He is an author and has written truly engrossing novels of fiction regarding Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes! I mean, INCREDIBLY good. Any Holmes fan is missing out if they haven't read them. I admire everything about this good man.

Mr Jabbar transcended the NBA, long before he even played his first game! Simply by finishing what he started at UCLA, in spectacular fashion. The NBA had to wait.
Ali threw his Olympic medal into the river, Mr Jabbar had sense enough to not have picked it up in the first place.
Mr Jabbar has been a man for so long, it’s humbling that his age might some day soon catch up to him. His age had to wait.
Of course he’s sharing his thoughts now. You don’t evolve by attempting to recapture your past. (Like that other Laker surrounding himself with sports teams! No offense Magic, but enough already).
You are more likely to evolve by attaching what is a very unique perspective on living, to conversations that will perhaps move mankind forward.
    Thank you Mr Jabbar.

Kareem was my favorite player, I enjoyed watching the Lakers, but also that he was so smart, and carried himself so well. Those current athletes who think they are "doing something" with their little "protests" but then have no respectability off the court, aren't making any real statement except "look at me." Maybe they should look at Kareem and get inspired to really take a stand that has depth.

    I always really liked Kareem Abdul-Jabbar .
Then I heard he had a very impressive Jazz album collection with a lot of hard to find and valuable music ; some of it given to him by his Dad who introduced him to Jazz .
Somewhere is the vid talking about when his home had a fire and destroyed his album collection .
He was devastated and I felt so sad for him .
I hope Kareem's gotten it replaced although he'll never really be able to replace what was given him by his Dad .
No doubt that must have really hurt .

Surprised that Jim Axelrod and the producers didn't mention Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's role in the Bruce Lee flick, Game of Death, especially considering that the fight between Abdul-Jabbar and Lee is the first scene that appears in CBS Sunday Morning's 'Honoring Bruce Lee' CZcams segment.

First of all, so-called "Kareem Abdul-Jabbar" isn't even his real birth name? I think it's a disgrace and shows complete disrespect of one's heritage to change their birth name, unless when a woman gets married. If a woman gets married and DOESN'T change her last name, that shows no respect to her husband. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the name "Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor Jr"?! The change was probably made as a result of a greedy Business Manager with respect to perceived anticipation of greater recognition and subsequent monetary gain?! Furthermore why would anybody put a hyphen in their name, ESPECIALLY a man?!

It was actually his choice. At the time he was following Malcom Smith and Allja Mahammond. A lot of black were converting their name as it was seen as a form of rebellion against the US. You know… that small racist country he was allowed to make millions in.
