- Walking in Moscow, I think i've managed to find the CHEAPEST Tourist Attraction in Moscow. Sparrow Hills is a viewpoint overlooking Moscow. From there you can enjoy the view, and also take a Cable Car from Sparrow Hills to Luzhniki Olympic Complex.
📍 Location: Sparrow Hill (Vorobyovy Gory) Moscow, Russia

I was going by this cable car when it was just opened. It was free for students (and at that time I was studying in the university). It was nice to try going by the cable car and see spectacular view!
Конечно катался. Помню, были билеты по понедельникам всего за 100 рублей.
I went on one ages ago in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. We went up in the Smoky Mountains. Honestly, I am afraid of them, but I still rode in it.

Moscow looks so much better than any large American city these days. You won't see places like Kensington Philadelphia or Skid Row in Moscow. They've developed the city so much. Molodets Rossiya!
Moscow was recognized by UN as the megapilis with best social infrastructure in the world.
And it is.
Shanghai and Beijing now have the best social infrastructures in the world .
Absolutely amazing !

Do not forget that no single city in USA is sucking blood from other regions. Moscow is built (even in Soviet times) on money mostly generated by Siberia, Urals and Russian Far East. Oil, gas, gold, diamonds, timber, electric energy - everything is sold abroad and 99% of all the money end up in Moscow. People in regional Russia surviving on $500 a month salaries in a run down houses with terrible infrastructure. Drive 5000 kilometers from Urals to Vladivostok and you won't see any single highway. Moscow is a parasite on the body of Mother Russia.
The only difference is that in USA there is a hundred more cities that delight your eye, though in Russia only Moscow of that kind. Didn' t you know that?
Russell has already become an experienced guide in Moscow and can open his own agency for English-speaking guests :)
I was telling a friend in Moacow this same exact thing yesterday. Russell's 1 day moscow tours.

Lovely video!!! How Russian are proud of this beautiful city. And never see a homeless people like other American city. ❤❤❤❤
The presence of temporary fences along which Russell walked is due to the fact that this year the Moscow Government is carrying out work on the improvement of this part of the Sparrow Hills. @@TravellingwithRussell Only thing that does not need it is your old Engel outback tested ac/DC fridge freezers😆🥰Love em...Got a few.. reliable as the sun👍
@TravellingwithRussell Vorobyevy Gory can be loosely translated as Sparrow Hills (it's plural!), though in Russian "gory" (горы) literally means "mountains". But the word "mountain" is often used in Russian in the meaning of "hill", that is not so high place as a mountain.
But the word "Vorobyevy" doesn't really come from the word "vorobey" (sparrow), but from the last name "Vorobyev", which, in its turn, is derived from the word "vorobey".
In Russian last names the ending "ev" or "ov" is the ending of belonging and in old times it was used to indicate that someone is a "son of" or an "inhabitant of". (That's why words like that are called "имя собственное" or "proper nouns" in English - words of property).
The last name "Vorobyev" literally means "of Sparrow". So the name Ivan Vorobyev literally means "John of Sparrow". So "Vorobyevy Gory" literally means "Gory" belonging to (or named after) someone "of Sparrow". "Vorobyevy" is also plural for the last name "Vorobyev". The family of a person with the last name "of Sparrow" will be called "Vorobyevy" (like plural "the Johnsons"). In any case it would be more accurate to translate "Vorobyevy Gory" as "Hills of Sparrow".
But proper nouns are usually not translated. So you can just give a translation explaining the name once and then use the word as it sounds in Russian so that future tourists from other countries would get accustomed to the name and would not be confused looking for "Sparrow Hills" during their visit to Moscow.
Воробьевы горы - любимое место в Москве!

I am going to be going there soon. We just had a couple of rainy days here, so once it clears up i will be back out there.
Awesome ❤❤❤
When I get to Moscow I will be bringing a couple of my custom one-of-a-kind bicycles I have built with me so my wife and I can see Moscow at a leisurely pace.
I wonder if there are still motorocyclists riding on those hills at night! Awesome views from those hills!
Теперь очень много камер контроля скорости
It's curious. I was loitering with my friend in that park some years ago, but now, seeing the 1st part of video - I didn't recognize the area. It became more clear since the 2nd part and the other side of the river - I guess, we were walking at that places. And it was winter
Nice shic video all way
Love forever Russell thanks
No problem 👍
Спасибо за ваши видео!
Really enjoy all the videos. There's a bear by an airfield that would make a great video. Bear Mansur. If you are ever out that way and can visit, it would be interesting to see that.
Cool, thanks. It's in the Tver Region.
Moscow looks very different now from those old black and white and pretty grim videos from the Soviet era. Very informative and enjoyable.
12:25 "Don't worry, it's not Russian, it's Canadian, they know what they are doing" 😂😂😂
*Russell inherited local sense of humour 😁 All is fine 👍
Sure it was rude
Right, the Russians put the first man in space. I think they can build a zip line.
Had a laugh at that lifestyle humour =)
Russell becoming more local with every video 😁
Нормально не обидно ) , зачем изобретать велосипед, надо просто купить самое лучшее , что и было сделано)).
@@user-oe5hx6ur3tС каких пор страна третьего мира, канада, делает что-то лучшее, тут как бы не купили самое дешевое 😂 На самом деле это видео как раз повод теперь бояться там ездить (я вот точно теперь не поеду, хотя хотела как-нибудь). Особенно учитывая ненависть Канады к России, с этих станется и продать устройство которое специально рухнет со временем.
Nice!!! 👏
Thanks!!
As far as I' know that escalator gallery was abandoned at 1983 due to landslides and economic circumstances. At least at the early 2000s my friend had showed me these ruins and invited to take a look. As you can imagine it became sort of a public toilet. Altough I'm a local around these parts of Moscow its existence still kind of a novelty to me.
6:45 there is no "nice pathway" here or down at the Moscow River enbarkment, they are redoing walkways and, more importantly - communications whichare the main reason of this whole endeavour as far as I'm aware.
9:04 your hand kind of pointed to the building of the Russian Academy of Science Presidium -the one with copper plates at the top. They have kind of cool inner yard with statues and there is a wiewing platform nearby.
16:17 yes, but nobody in Russia calls them "the Seven Sisters", it's a foreign nickname for them. We call them "Stalin's high-rises". And they all were built in the Moscow proper.
17:41 do you know who has the coolest view? There is a little rotund with windows all around right under the spiel and it is a rector's working cabinet. And under the rector's cabinet there is a University's museum, as far as I remember, but sadly it is not easily accessible for random people.
Там еще и пресловутые пирамиды везде натыканы. Как хотите, так и понимайте.
Sparrow hill has nothing to do with sparrows. Just a translation from Russian as it sounds in Russian. There is long medieval history here.
Он на Вики так называется и там фестиваль sparrow hills проходит.
@alexanderchepak2009 Sorry if i confused you after seeing the small bird. I thought it was a little funny though.
