We weren't allowed cellphones when we were in class 15 years ago so wtf is different now .
🧑🦳🤓
Finally realized that they are putting out idiots into the world that can't think for themselves.
Exactly!
So when in emergency lol
@@junkfoodguy lmao what emergency? there's still phones in school for that.
@@junkfoodguyonly during class you can't be on your phone
@@melrobertson2743 I'm sure use dalculator right
They stated "Kindergarten through grades 6". WTF!? WHY does a 5 or 6 year old child NEED a cell-phone? I am ALL for this ban, in hopes that our children actually spend time learning in class, and FOCUS!
The phones have actually made it so they can't focus for more than the time it takes to send a tweet.
When in intruder enter in a schoolboy betrer ban cellphonesxright
@@junkfoodguy WTF did you just say?
@@junkfoodguywould you shut up
You’d be surprised the amount of parents who buy there 4 or 5 year old a phone. I know one family personally and I think it’s ridiculous. I didn’t get a cell phone till end of grade 8 and I paid for it myself, parents refused. What a different world we live in now
I would ban them completely at school.
When in emergency we better ban phone because dictatorship ford right 😅😅😅😅😅
Vapes are illegal lol
For minors I mean
@@junkfoodguyyou are stupid
@@junkfoodguyWhat?!?
Canada should pity the situation that it has created fr the future generation
ah yes because it is solely canada that created this situation
At least this government has started to do some job to protect children.
Canada cracking down on something 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Except the drugs
Honestly tho if your a parent and you think you need your kid to have a cellphone for emergency, get a life, the school has a phone.
I was in a school where that was the case and when my mom tried to phone no one picked up and I did not get told she called. Having a direct line is super important especially if something is time critical
Long overdue. They are the new wet nurse for just about everyone. Keep them out of the classroom. If the students need info for research etc, go to the library. If they need help with trig or calculus, get a scientific calculator.
You can’t smoke on school property indoors or outdoors.
And probably still do
@@ryr5330 There are going to be fines.
@@liamwatson5125 Doubt, and i graduated 2 years ago
@@ryr5330There are going to be stiff fines for smoking on school property. Neither students nor faculty can legally smoke in school. Kids are too young to smoke.
Have more trade school high schools teach welding, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, drywall/taping, cooking classes
Ban from use in classroom. Period.
Why not turn into learning tool instead right
About time!
It’s about time turning a blind eye is failure
Finally some smart decisions are made
So basically "we'll tell your parents!" meanwhile half of these kids have parents who simply do not care, especially if their child is passing, which essentially every single child does pass now, so.......... This will do nothing. I also love how the reporter tries to insinuate that cannabis is only a concern nowadays in high-schools??? LOL, as if we weren't smoking weed at lunch every. single. day. back in 2004-2008! (and before then too, I'm sure)
I'd argue that even the most stoned students (without phones) have a much better chance of actually learning anything compared to sober kids (who aren't stoned) with cell phones. I went to HS from 1996-2000 (before cell phones existed).. and yes many stoners would get ripped at lunch or on breaks but they still managed to get passing grades. This was back when teachers would fail kids for poor grades (something that doesn't happen anymore apparently) 😅
What the heck took so long!
Hard to enforce….
No it isn't Check them when arriving. If parents need to get in touch they can try something unique. Make a phone call to the school.
@@larryborsa4396 what if something is going outside, and they need to be emergency notified.
And how many students would become more focused on the teacher and not be thinking about their cell phones and vapes banned in the classroom? This issue has surpassed any legitimacy on education because the parents who were enabled by their parents are now enabling their own children because the parents have no concept of the real world because the parents can't stop looking at their phones long enough to talk to their children..
Teachers should be able to confiscate and sell as side hustle
So you aant teachers get sued
I would hate to be a teacher presenting a lesson while a student is occupied by a cell phone . I would consider that as an insult and would tell them get the hell out , you are obviously not interested.
So if your teacher you wouldn't want to turn into teaching tool instead going backwards like ford cons
Vpn sales 📈
Shocking. What will they do next
Are teachers finally going to take control of their classrooms again? Can’t wait to see how many kids go through withdrawal symptoms when this starts
It’s hard to control an overfilled class with 30+ students
Thank Doug Ford for the overinflated class sizes 👍
😂😅
Hire teacher assistances...
❤😂 for the next 8weeks what are they policing which in the last decade that they haven't achived
Bravo , exelente, stop them
About time.
If vaping flavour is a problem what about alcohol flavours.
Why can’t they issue fines for vaping inside?
Let's see if they Enforce this; or wimp out to over-protective parents?
Cell phone shouldn't be aloud at any school at all that should be a law
If you bring a cell phone to work with you even though there are phones at your job then kids can have one in their backpack at school. No need to be a hypocrite.
@@saffylllama5609 Absolutely not. Distracted learning is against the law.
@@liamwatson5125 A phone in your bag is not a distraction. In highschool the kids were not allowed to bring their backpacks in the classroom, their bags had to stay in their locker so I'm Assuming the bag is not at their desk.
Why not turn ceklphones into jearnibg rool instead of being stuck in time@@liamwatson5125
Cell phone should be banned until grade 12
Teachers just allowed to make decisions without parental consent?
Conservatives, what if your child has to give up their phone, bring it to the front of the class and put it in a box with a name sticker on it……. and they use a name that you didn’t give them? Think of the horror. You obviously haven’t thought this one through. Protest now!?!
I'm sure my sons school they gotta keep them in their backpacks in the back of the class. It's not an issue at all schools.
(grade school)
But it ok have tablet in classrooms
why haven't they crack down on this before?
Pressure from parents, difficulty enforcing rules, inconsistent classroom expectations from teachers.
Why not use it learning tool instead of going backwards
this ministry of education should educate itself before our children. thank you for not reading! continue acting up the way you do like bureaucrats
Boy a Boy
Why schools look like bunkers? Low ceilings, no windows, dark hallways with dark stone walls ....!2 years spent in buildings like this.... I feel sorry for the kids nowadays...They waste their time in bunkers where they learn apathy to later leave them empty handed.
Maybe you should look ip history of the school
This has been a problem for years, why is it only now their making a deal about this??
You mean... you hadn't before? Shameful....
Children these days demand respect without having any respect for others and themselves.
It may be a much better solution to immediately expel students who don’t know how to cooperate instead of forcing education on those kids.
Should Canada allow Child Labour for those “special” type of children who believe that they’re better off working, making money, paying for their own food, their own rent, and paying taxes instead of being infuriated by being forced to follow the rules in exchange for having free education as kids.
CEO of crazy
Psychobabble
Years too late !!!
Long overdue...
Kindergarten? 😂😂
Ghana is already doing this. You cannot take your phone to classes
What about for grade 7-8? What’s the rule?
No cell phones out at anytime in my school. Including halls/outside/lunch etc. However, not all teachers enforce this which leads to the whole system falling apart.
who's this guy with tye Rasta hat in the back ground in the school hall way ? that ain't no teacher
That was truly bizarre.. Janitor...?
Maybe they don't want to learn because they've been born into economically dire circumstances, and have been taught by the world around them that hard work won't get them anywhere.
This should not be what we ought to be expending time and energy on. The housing crisis and financial stability of our communities should be our top priority.
Soooooo another wards , you're too lazy to get a job and you still live in your parent's basement
The teachers want to fiddle the kids without being filmed
The students captured video of numerous teachers saying inappropriate things in the class room, they want no video witnesses.
Why haven't the schools done this themselves yet? Why did it take the government to take intervention into school operations in order to fix these problems??? I suspect lazy overpaid teachers might be the problem.
Sound like your Debbie downer right
I think fines need to be instated for cell phones in the classrooms and vaping in the washrooms. They need to make it even more harsh.
overpaid!? 🤣
@@danyab1377 underpaid
LMAO,CRACKING DOWN on VAPES and PHONES!?
lol who uses public wifis anyways nowadays ur looking to get ur private information stolen.
Why? If they don't wanna learn they don't got to 🤷🏽♂️ school doesn't teach much anyways 😂
The problem isn’t the phones, it’s the education system. Make school interactive and enjoyable.
Don't stop there. Remove the movies and you tube videos being shown on a daily basis and actually teach!
You are the problem!
Nothing is going to change. There’s no consequences for students.
I used to smoke a joint daily outside on my lunch break lol whats this cell phone thing
Normalize Ⓐctive unions and worker and🏡🏘️co-ops. Preserve and expand our🗳️democracy. Workers make this country run, workers should run this country☭.🏴🇨🇦
Ban calculators too. Kids can’t do basic math without one . Seriously sad
Wouldn't want these teachers being exposed .. what a joke!
Sober ok gave cellphones in queens oark
lol kindergarten
I know right!? WHY does someone in kindergarten need a cell phone!?
@@RedDevilMotoToo young to have a cell phone.
Ohh really do you know that you are so behind to even starting to cracking it down now. Are the schools ready to deal with mental health crisis that’s going to happen suddenly without phones now ? Are parents students onerous of this in school who is the adult sitting in class doing abt all of this ? Not just vaping but also cannabis from stores located right across the schools
THEY NEED to crack down on free passes for students to move on when they cant read , write or do math!! 😳😖🫤😶
