I work from home and I so understand your feeling of not wanting to spend ‘me’ time in the room you spend most of the day working.
Yeah, especially now the work equipment takes up so much space now. It's literally become an office rather than craft room

Yeah it's nice to have a bit of time these days. Not sure I'll ever have time during the week to get pencilling done but maybe when it gets it starts getting lighter after work 🥰
I am glad you had a little time to color. I am sorry work has taken over your space though. I was really looking forward to seeing how this worked out, I like the idea of choosing the books etc for the month. I would not have thought of it making coloring more portable but I am glad it allowed you to color in a more relaxing location!

I didn't think that I'd move my colouring location but early in the month it was a lovely day in the conservatory so I brought my 5 books and 4 supplies downstairs to colour... and there I stayed! Ended up setting up a basket for my goodies!
The Feb "shop my stash" is up, the one I deleted was a short flipthrough that went up at a funny resolution 😄

Yeah it definitely seemed to work for me, I think it helped that I could bring my "subset of stuff" downstairs to colour 😀

I started the front cover page of the Winter Mandala book, last year!! Not finished it, because of those garish colours 😮

I think whoever created that Winter Mandalas book may suffer from colour blindness 😂
You're not wrong! It would be nice if it was shades of blue and greens, subtle colours.
That’s why I’m not a big fan of colour by numbers: their choice of colours 😂
The Color Questopia books used to be ok, until someone told them to only use 25 colours, then they turned into the same as all the others, I mean its difficult to add colour nuances with a basic 25 colour palette 😆
@@ArtJourneyUK .. a lot of these mandela-type illustrations look a lot better, in my view, with only 3 colours. And yes, I would expect the cover illustration to be the same inside, lol.
That was a productive colouring month Lily ❤ It was a good idea to pick the books and mediums out first and then set to using them 👍 (I might have to try that myself!) That would be hard working from home like you do, I wonder if you had a creative “ritual” - for example once you turn the work computer off, you put some music or a podcast on and maybe a relaxing scented candle and a nice drink, it would help seperate the “work” and “relaxation” time in your mind even though you are in the same room?
@@spare_room_studio I used to do that Jackie, shut down my work PC, put on some music and turn my chair to my colouring desk. Then when my hours got longer, I just want out of this room after 10h! I usually go down to make dinner and then do not want to come back in there until I have to. Still, this is working, using a trying a small subset every month... so far anyway 😆
