With 4.1.1 firmware update NC is about 30% minimum worse. Now I can hear people voices when NC is on or TV at home. Before that I can't hear anything of that. No more silence. Hoping for fix ASAP. Do not update Sony WH-1000XM3 to firmware 4.1.1.

Updated mine and yes, I noticed the same problem too.
My Google assistant won't work with my headphones. It connects and everything but when I press the NC button and hold it down, it doesn't turn on the mic to receive my verbal commands. It only tells me the time and my notifications if I press the button once. Does anyone have this problem? I also just updated to the new software a couple days ago it's version 4.1.1, I use the them on an iPhone and have everything set up and google assistant is downloaded and fully set up but I still have this problem.
I’ve just upgraded and updated straight away and I’m disappointed with the NC compared to the XM2’s. Hopefully they’ll sort it out.
I got mine the other day and updated right away. I found it odd I could hear voices and my own voice pretty well...so thats a software issue then?

Type C charge is what pushed me to buy these headphones , it was either these or the Bose QC , but I am sick of micro USB , I can't understand why companies keep using them
while i understand that its nice to have one plug for everything and usb-c will be the future plug for everything, peopel have to realize thats just your personal experience. in fact for me personally those headphones are the first device that i have with usb-c. and i have many stuff. its not my fault that they mostly using it for premium stuff and i just won those headphones *lol i can handle one more cable.
@0451 Shodan USB c is fast. It's hard to break it unless you aren't responsible

Marcela sancha From what I tried, it sounds the same, if not better and you can also have them powered on in wired mode, which will give you the option to noise cancellation/ambient sound on.
Does your ear touch the inner part of the earcups?
@@aletta112 If you don't power them on and just use the wire then the sound is terrible. If you power them on and use the wire the sound is really good.

The classic 1000X's still sound good but i have noticed that sometimes certain genres of music can sound a little muddy.
The volume on them could be a little better aswell.

I usually like to listen to music on 70 to 80% volume.
On the original 1000X's i sometimes have to go up to 90% volume to get moderately satisfied.
Definitely louder and I know exactly what you mean about certain genres sounding muddy with the originals. Thankfully these don't do that. Also, you may be interested in the review I have coming this weekend

I just got my pair in the mail today. I tried a sample on a few weeks ago and fell in love, doing my research, I trusted lots of people on the sound and was not disappointed. I went through the app and was wondering why that directional thing was there. Interesting feature. I feel like the XM4s will have a dual audio feature to them. It'd be real nice to have audio from my computer and through my Nintendo Switch audio jack.
No issues with 4.1.1 here. All working as promised.

Agree 100%! Review is on point as usual bro. The XM3 are legit. I was only able to try them for about 10 minutes but in that short time I was sold. That sound quality and comfort combined with that level of ANC is a killer combination.

One of the few headphones in which all the fuzz about them is justified. What a joy to the ears.Finally got a pair.
I agree with the treble, what I end up doing is EQ'ing and turning the clear bass lower then putting the headphones in "concert" mode. I typically have a more "spacious" sounding pair. Also, I go in my phone settings and screw around in there a bit.
I'm a samsung user so it was great doing that process but it may not be the same for others
why is nobody mentioning how atrocious these are when outside in the cold? the touch controls stop working and the whole thing goes haywire sending inputs automatically to your device. I live in Canada and was shocked to find this out after spending 450CAD on these.

Light means comfort. Hard to fault these headphones if not the fact that it can't connect to more than one device. Hopefully a software update can fix that. At home, they sound even better when wired with noise canceling on. I like them a lot.
I can confirm this, my commute in the mornings on the northern line is now bearable!

Your review isn’t very technical but more of an anecdotal review, I’ll try and fill in the gaps.
I own both.
QC35II = Better for classical music and heavy voice listening (focus on clarity), better for phone calls, can pair to multiple Bluetooth sources, replaceable parts, basic audio codec support, excellent ANC, decent but not great battery life.
Sony 1000x Mark III = Tuned for wider dynamic range as you would hear at a concert, this includes BASS, excellent instrument detail, GREAT ANC (better than Bose, trust me), AWESOME battery life, excellent audio codec support (Android users can get the most out of this), awesome headphone app that lets you turn the table on Bose and tune the Sony’s to your heart’s content including all but removing the “bassey” quality of the headphones. Poor phone call audio, tons of spatial sound settings.
The Sony’s are better all around and better for flying because the ANC is superior. The Bose are better for instrumental music and heavy voice listening but the Sony’s can be tuned to get damn close.

I just got mine yesterday.. I'm not an audiophile but my stuff has to sound great . These work for me ... very nice and I know they're pricey but I'll take very care of them

I've always used Bose headphones but my brother was trying to convince me to get these instead. I was being stubborn so he went ahead and gave me a pair of these Sonys for christmas this year and I haven't used my Bose since...these are just too good.

just bought the bose qc35 ii cause I use a lot of devices at a time (ipad iphone computer and tv) but i fear im missing on something cause the sony looks very nice especialy in the nc department. still have a few days to return them... im so confused

TheCouchBrothers I dunno the only thing I can think of is pair my phone for calls, pair my tv for everyday use and wire my ipad when i need it. U can pair the phone for only calls and have a device for multimedia...
M F if you really need multiple devices stay with Bose, but if you want everything else to be better go with Sony, I would go with the Sony, but the boses are still good to

@@MF-gz3cl Apparently you hold the power button down for 5 seconds or something and it pairs with up to 8 devices. I have just ordered a pair of these so can't confirm personally but I have read a few posts where it has been confirmed.

You can bluetooth pair to multiple devices by holding down the power button for 7 seconds.
the EQ sounds very much like broad Valve EQs of the past, very warm and open, the bass control is very good at the low end
Great review!! Thank you!! I own a pair. Downloaded the app and although I don’t use too many of the features in the app, I was able to set the equalizer to a position that brightens up the highs while leaving the mids and lows intact. The closest pre-programmed EQ setting to it is the ‘Bright’ selection in the app but my manual setting also boosts the bass a bit (not much) to make it meatier than the ‘Bright’ setting and not take away from the lows. As far as lack of multiple device support is concerned, I’m with you on that 100%. The least they can do is make it so you can connect to another device without first having to actually disconnect from the existing one

I use my Sony X 1000 to listen to audiobooks -- they are amazing -- and worth the $350
I'm not worried when I see plastic. We have plastics that are stronger than steel. I would trust a company like Sony would use the appropriate materials on a premium product.

@@OfficialGamesky Most my friends think i'm mad that i have so many pairs of headphones. The usual "You can only listen to one pair at a time" comments but there's just something i love about trying and owning lots of pairs. To hear the different sound nuances that each pair have is an obsession of mine.
And......we have the exact same problem. Each pair definitely makes you hear each song differently and plus some days you want alot of bass and then others you just want more clarity

I bought one last "Thanksgiving" I finally used em last July 1 all month traveling San Fe. Its better than WH-1000XM2 and my other headphone comes with noise-canceling but has wire to it, and runs with battery.
They are very nice and work well to block out noise.

I returned my pair. Endless random beeps broke my will. Nice headphones but the software is buggy.
Yea I'm going to be returning mine this Sunday for the Bose 700s. Random beeps, sweaty ears, terrible at phone calls, a light blinker which sticks out in the dark, plastic, audio way better after EQ tweaking but I just feel like these wont last as long overall.
Roman Adamenko nah dude, id rather pay 400$ to get the Sonys rather than the Bose. The ANC on the Bose is BS compared to the Sony’s. Sound is also a lot better on the xm3‘s, way more power and Bass.
@@alcapone5990 you're right. I ended up returning the pos 700s back for my Sonys. They were hyper uncomfortable, ugly, 20hrs, I preferred the bass from sonys and I culd feel the bluetooth 5.0 radiating my brain. Bose 700s was a fail, Sonys XM3s all the way. Also I got the Sonys back for $300.
What about comfort? Do you think these are more comfortable than Bose? Could you stand like 8h+ with them on like Boses?
I currently study for ~6 hours straight with the Bose QC II everyday and they are phenomenal. I have no clue about the Sony, but I am curious!
I can use them for 5.5 hours before it starts getting a little annoying.
João Rosa I do my hw on a desk, looking downwards, I’ll do my homework and study for about 6 hours and met right ear gets a bit sore BUT, I have a weird shaped right ear and even the Bose hurt them, I tried both, buying the Sony Mx3 because of the app and sound, I suggest you try both, but if you just want to order online I’d go for the Sony
i have both and love both, but i have to say that Bose has a slight edge over the XM3 when it comes to comfort but that's not saying the xm3 are not comfortable because they are.. no doubt.
I'm not too much into wireless and I guess they call it qoute on qoute "Average Consumer headphones" but I'm gonna have to save up for these I've heard nothing but great reviews about these headphones

Very good review, however they can connect to 2 devices when one is for media and the other is for phone calls. I love these headphones, but, like you, might wish for a bit more treble to balance the bass.

The internal band is not aluminum haha, that would snap instantly. It's made of spring steel, as per every other pair of overear headphones ever made.

In extreme cold temperatures they can throttle a bit. By that I mean your assistant going off or worse case scenario your music volume drastically goes down.
Although I use a ski mask and they fit right in and all those issues tend to not happen anymore. Why? No idea, I'm just glad it works

That USB-C cable is way too short! I can see 4ft but not 4inches. I wish this guy would have talked about the mic, how does it sound when using it on your phone to make/receive calls.
NutNbutSpeed mic is poor as most wireless headphones. I’ve posted mic comparisons and demo of earlier firmware. Firmware 4.1.1 does improve the mic and is now my voice is comprehensible, though is still very muffled. Bose QC 35 II still win miles ahead in this aspect. I’ll post the mic test of 4.1.1 soon.
There's one very good point here... don't expect it flat! Why flat? It's not monitor headsets designed for recording engineers. In reality, is flat the best listening pleasure? No, the world is not flat either... The highs and lows are required for the "pleasure"
They are amazing but they cost 26,000 Indian rupees which is darm pricey. Puts them in luxury products range.
