Durga is a Hindu Godess. She is known for her warrior skills. According to a Legend that she alone fought and defeated the Asur (demon) army. Guru Gobind Singh Ji wrote a verse about it. This verse is called “Chandi di Vaar” and is always read by Sikhs before going to war as it gives courage.

Union Territories are small enclaves that were either ruled by European powers other than the British or geographically sensitive locations like Lakshadweep and Ladakh. Daman and Diu & Dadra and Nagar Haveli were Portuguese colonies. Pondy and Mahe within Kerala were French colonies. When India become independent the Countries leadership was mindful of the unique culture of these areas and set them up to be administered directly by the central/federal government. New Delhi is mostly the exception here and was not given state status because it was the seat of the central/federal govt, sort of like our Washington DC.

States are like provinces in Canada and for the most part are governed by State governments except for areas like defence, foreign policy, monetary policy, common taxation and few others, which are controlled by Union governement or Federal or Central government.
The union Territories are directly governed by the Union government unlike the states. There were many historical reasons why some places are classified as union territory and each Union territory had its own reason. Basically wherever there was too much minorty population who could be dominated by surrounding states they were made union Territories.. there are exceptions to this like Delhi..
Delhi / New Delhi is the seat of Union government and they don't want union governments administrative and other offices to be part of any state territory because in states the state government has control over policing, law and order etc.
New Delhi is the main Central district of Delhi where Indian parliament, President of India residence, PM residence, All union ministry offices, supreme court are located..
As the Delhi City grew in size they were granted with Semi state status because it was growing too big to administer without a properly elected govt.
So Delhi has legislative assembly because of this semi state provision, which was until then only feature of a State.
But still Delhi's police & law and order are still in control of Union govt unlike the Proper states.

They r one of the rare tribe of Andaman and nicobar islands so in order to protect themselves they don't allow anyone to visit their islands n the govt also respect their decision n protect them. And u should check more about Andaman and nicobar islands we have lot more surprising and fascinating things other than those shown in that video.

Union Territories are governed by the Central Govt. Chandigarh is most special. Capital to both Punjab and Haryana but neither Government controls Chandigarh. Both Punjab and Haryana State Government are located in Chandigarh and its nearby cities but Chandigarh Administration is under Lt. Governor who also controls the police. so you can say both Haryana and Punjab police have no jurisdiction within Chandigarh. with right way of search, all of this is all over internet. I am know you will find out much more than just what i say. and at every step it gets more amazing.

So India has Union territories for many reasons...
Mainly because these lands are very small and doesn't have enough resources etc to say be self dependent like other states do. So the central government keeps control over it and runs it.
Delhi is because of administrative reasons. As Delhi accommodates Supreme Court, Central Government, the President House and many of the foreign embassies and international organizations, Central Government wants to keep it under its direct control without sharing powers with the state government of some other party. Even law and order which is a state subject, is exercised by the Central Government and that's why Delhi Police comes under Central Government.

    What is a Union Territory?
A Union Territory is an administrative division that is directly controlled by the Central Government. Union Territories are ruled directly by the Central Government and have a Lieutenant Governor as an administrator, who is the representative of the President of India and appointed by the Central government.
Note: Delhi, Puducherry and Jammu & Kashmir do not operate in the same manner as the other five Union Territories of India since they have partial statehood status and have their own elected legislative assemblies
