I've noticed this before: Matteo isn't afraid to put things in the sink and then bring them back out and use them again. Am I the only person who treats anything put in the sink like it's suddenly a biohazard until it's washed?
I almost lost it. Are you also extremely anal about washing both your hands if just a pinky touched raw chicken or raw fish?
Good to know it's not just me.
Yeah, but look at how clean he keeps his sink.
honestly i was looking into the comments to not have to write this myself , and then I see a guy say it , so refreshing , our OCD isn't alone , I got you
It's true but also my sink is filth. I think he's got it together, like a real kitchen adult.
Love the gritty realism of cooking in a normal kitchen space.
You have became my favorite comedian of all time. I promise you I laugh so hard every time I watch one of your videos. Keep it up my friend you're simply the best...... Sending you nothing but love and respect...... ❤️❤️❤️❤️
SAME 🎉
Same
I am going to have to agree with you on that!
This, with baked rosemary potatoes and canned peaches ... best meal ever at my grandma's house, i miss her.
Not together of course.....I'm sure your grandma wasn't weird.
@@planestrainsdogsncars4336 LMFAOOOOOO
This sounds so damn good thank you!!
❤️❤️❤️❤️. So glad you have those memories
That sounds amazing, shout-out to Grandma
I'm Italian and I find your accent extremely cute ♥️ it shows that you learnt Italian through your family, which is adorable!
Ps. While you were cooking I was like "why on earth doesn't he cook on a table?? Wouldn't it be more convenient???". Then I "remembered" that I do EXACTLY the same thing. True Italian chaos.
Ciao, Matteo! This is also part of the Brazilian standard dishes (specially where Italians settled back on the end of the 19th century). We call it "a lá milanesa" and it made its way into the countries cuisine! We also add some tomato sauce with mozzarella cheese on top, bake it and call it "a lá parmegiana". Great recipe!
Mexicans, too, but typically beef. We also call it milanesa 🖤 It was one of my favorites as a kid.
@@trophybuckle3235 When I was in college, an Argentinian friend introduced me to milanesa. So good!
@@auntlynnie @trophybuckle3235 @lucacustudio Yes! Milanesas are the back bone of Argentinian culture as well! We eat them almost daily. The recipy is just like Matteo showed but without the flour and butter. And mostly cooked in the oven :)
The chaos and imperfections just make this show that much more wonderful!! CANNOT WAIT to see you in Philly in March!!
My Italian soul is so happy with this! I love your stand up and representation of our culture! Thank you :)
As a 64-year-old, Half Sicilian/Half regular slice, Italian American, YOU NAILED IT...bene
"How fabulous is that?"
The spirit of Ina Garten has entered you.
And even cotoletta al pollo keeps pretty well in the freezer for later, so if you have extra you're good.
Matteo, you're just a treasure...
"Butter, oil and breadcrumbs ... How fabulous is that?" - the Barefoot Matteo
😂 This is literally a schnitzel
Which came from Italy.
You can do it without the breadcrumb and then cover it in a sauce of white wine, butter, a little lemon juice and salt. My grandmother made that all the time and it’s delicious. This way is amazing too. You don’t need many ingredients to make a ton of amazing food.
That’s scaloppine!
Always more Nick and other guest, but you are the driving force. If you’re not already shopping this to streaming services, for shame! 😂
Seconded! I would subscribe to any platform smart enough to give him a contract!
The cooking show I didn’t know I needed.
Cutlet is also really loved and appreciated among Persians. We even have a “National Cutlet Day” The Italian version looks amazing!
Watching Matteo cook makes me simultaneously hungry and very very thirsty.
I’m crying I’m laughing so hard watching this one - my childhood bff‘s parents were both first gen Sicilian-Canadians, and I absolutely LOVED spending any amount of time at her place - her family basically adopted me, and my favourite childhood memories are being taught to actually cook (my mother was extremely British & boiled EVERYTHING or else charbroiled it into carbon).
I still remember how we would all gather together in her Catananna’s kitchen to make Sunday Dinner. Although I had only a rudimentary grasp (at best) of the dialect all the older family members used, I still managed to muddle along as best I could & they were all extremely patient with my horrendous pronunciation, lol. (Fwiw, I was also taught to use a pan as a kitchen implement as well 😉).
I have so many happy memories of that time in my life, but the one I suspect I will never forget was the time one of the new employees from the funeral home that the 2 families co-owned as well as the town’s ambulance business.
(🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️😂).
Anyhow - I will never forget the way everyone in the entire kitchen stopped & gasped when the newbie innocently saw my bff and I making the fettuccini pasta (under the watchful supervision of her bisnonna) and innocently asked if we were cooking “fettuccine Alfredo”.
I swear to God that the collective gasp from that kitchen full of women sucked every bit of O2 out of the room before being expelled in a chorus of such furious Calabro-Sicilian that I couldn’t even begin to understand what they were saying; even my bff looked a bit confused…but I knew whatever it was they WERE saying? It wasn’t good!! 😂🤣😂
To this day I swear that the ONLY reason I know how to cook is 100% thanks to some of the most loving, beautiful women I have ever been blessed to know.
(And no…I have never made or eaten “fettuccine Alfredo” - I know damn well if I ever did I would most likely then be haunted day and night by all of them, lol).
I’m British (Irish really but born in England) and I’m so glad I was raised in care because I got cooking lessons from Caribbean and Italian families. British can’t cook to save their lives
@@imaresifreak lol, you’re not wrong! I never quite understood until I met the rest of mum’s relatives why *everything* my mother & my aunt cooked had to all look & taste exactly the same as everything else - I swear that if “bland & tasteless” was an actual spice, they STILL wouldn’t have used it! 🤦🏻♀️😂
For the record, I would totally watch a network cooking show with you!!!! Love your comedy! Love your cooking!
Ciao Matteo!!! Grew up eating this for sure! But give the lemon a chance ---- ditch the Italian flavors, keep the lemon = Schnitzel! Ate it almost every day in Austria one summer and this little Italian girl was happy 😊 Love you to bits!!!
I love chicken with a squeeze of lemon, always.
You most definitely SHOULD be doing a cooking show, sir. Love.
I made this tonight and totally used a pan. Everyone ate it up. Thanks for the inspiration!
What is so great is that this how regular folks would cook these! I love your videos!
all the German gays be like "yah zis is just schnitzel 💅"
❤️
Well, we do call it Schnitzel. So lecker! I mix together eggs and flour and then I put in panko crumbs. Best regards from Germany 🤗
As a kid with a Mexican Mom, she would make Milanesa (Milanese) all the time!!! She would use the metal lemon squeezer to tenderise the meat... She would also use it to crack nuts. Not being salacious, that's just what that lemon squeezer was used for.... And, it was also used to squeeze lemon on the garden salad that she would serve with the White Rice and Milanesa 🥰🥰🥰🥰
I love these cooking videos so much. Ive tried two so far and they were soooo good!
In Argentina we call these Milanesas and we have them ALL the time. with french fries or mash potatoes, or salad, or anything you want actually. also we make them with any kind of meat. love it ♥
This is fantastic! Would love more!
I love that you mentioned the pasta queen, she is fabulous
This is practically a tutorial for Schnitzel loll
Yes, the roots of Schnitzel came form Italy.
More cooking shows please! 😆 love it.
2 mins and it's completely off the rails! So good.
I so enjoyed this! Thanks
Somebody on netflix finally give this man a cooking show!!
I love your bubbly personality. You are a good cook as well. And resourceful. 👏
One of my favorite comedians and looking even more adorable than usual.
(To the cameraman) “Are you having one?” 😆
Okay, so I just found you and LOVE you so much already! I've been binge watching all your videos. Thank you for all of your diverse & hilarious content!! 💖
Such great energy! I’ve been very blue and this just makes me laugh. Thanks for your gift of laughter, love! ❤️
You’re so underrated it’s insane. You are my favorite!
Loved it! Please post more of your Italian cooking adventures ❤
Hahahaha the layers of humor to that shirt. Jfc hilarious
I love making this! You just can’t beat the simplicity of this. I usually do it with rice and a salad with vinaigrette.
OMG I love your cooking videos!! They are literally my favorite thing right now. I already made your Carbonara and it turned out great. :)
This is my new favorite channel!!!
This is a common dish in Spain too, not only chicken and veal but with pork sometimes too. In a region of spain they make massive ones that are actually two veal pieces with cheese in between, breaded and fried. They call it Cachopo.
Also, it's very funny to call it "pollo empanado" in front of an argentinian because some have a fit if you dont call it "Milanesa"
I made this for dinner tonight and it was a hit!! My family loved it! Thanks Matteo we love you! ❤
You make me laugh till I cry and now I can watch you cook to? Love it!!!
In the south we appreciated this with cube steak, oddly enough we call it chicken fried steak.
I love this series! I just made the lemon pasta tonight and it was so good!
Oh, he's got a lemon pasta? I gotta find that!
You absolutely should be doing a cooking show. You are my fave right now.
I’m coming to Charlotte to see your show! Can’t wait.
Please do more cooking demos Matteo, I could watch them all day long 😂
I’ve been waiting for this video!! Hahah
Now I get to cook it for my lady and kids. I’m addicted to chicken and marinara as of lately 😅
I forgot to tell you that I love your specials, don’t stop 🤌🏼
Desde Puerto Rico disfruto tus videos y me río hasta las lágrimas. ¡Gracias!
I enjoyed this video SO much! I was laughing so much I had to go back to see if l had the recipe right!!😆💕
Sending love from Italy... You are great!
Loved it!!
We saw you at the Funny Bone in Cincy. I can honestly say I have never laughed so hard for so long. Thanks for joy you bring to people.
Omg cotoletta!!!! Still one of my favorite dishes my Nana would make. Also i LOVED seeing you in Cincinnati!!!!! Laughed my absolute ass off!!!
How do you cook with absolutely zero counter space? I'm impressed!
Promise me when you get your own TV show, that you will keep all the bloopers in and Chris will be the head cameraman. Listening to you two laugh is half the fun.
Yay more!
The pot worked & made me laugh! Awesome vid! ;-)
My life is so complete because of you Mateo thank you for being you freaking love you 😍🤣
It’s basically the same thing as Schnitzel! Love it!!
Schnitzel is with Kalb aka beef
Yes, Germans borrowed it from the Italians. 😂
@@2Bluzin Not the Germans, the Austrians. Which makes sense, considering how close Milan is to Austria.
Meat tenderizer 😅😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😭 omg im dying lol 😂
Apenas descubrí a Matteo hace días, y siento que mi vida por fin, está completa!!!
Wow Matteo ! You're such an excellent cook ! Reminds me of the food I ate with my Italian friends in Chicago. Not only are you a great comedian but an excellent cook !!!
I just adore your quick wit. I wish you all the best with your career, and can't wait for you to get your own special.
I am a huge fan of comedy, and it is true talent to be "off the cuff" funny offstage. You make it look effortless even though it is definitely NOT!
My mother cooked chicken the same way. Yes, it is delicious.
love you, thanks for sharing :) 💕
Ding was so loud I thought it was my phone!😂
Made this just last night! So excited. Can't wait for "that's for another show."
Ina is breathing a sigh of relief 😂💙😂💙
I wanna get that shirt! “Al dente,” I love it ❤️
still firm when bitten...
His face when he hits the bowl one last time
You should definitely do a cooking show!
Sad you’re not coming to the Midwest! Would love to see you
I just discovered you today, and I can't stop laughing 🤣🤣 you're so funny 😆👌😁
I made this today and my 5 y.o. kid liked it a lot. Thank you 😊 it was fun cooking with you ❤️
Always good to see you, Matteo! Do a show in Orlando and I promise I'll bring you a meat tenderizer!
Can you do a video talking about your kitchen stuff? I just want to know where you got your bowls! They are gorgeous
Definitely trying this 😋
I love you Matteo!!!
Thanks I will try that out!
I would love to see you do a collab with the pasta queen👌🏼
this and pancakes were the only two foods i could make in college.
and the heavy pot is perfect!
This is the best.
I’m doing this! I never beat the breast thin enough so I’m inspired to do it right this time. And my 6 year old might actually eat something I’ve made for dinner!! Yay❤
Binging on your cooking videos
this is the only cooking show i'll ever watch
My husbands go to meal when he’s sick. With penne marinara and (weirdly), peas in it.
always makes me laugh
This + Chicken Rice a Roni was my life
Fanfreakintastic 😂❤
Bewbs saying HELLO! x
I don't know why I enjoy you so much but I do, I love your personality. I'm Hispanic but our mothers used similar recipes to make essentially the same dish and I love how you present it. I enjoy your comedy more but I'm loving your other content ❤
He does own sleeves!
I was shocked and amazed at how well that pan flattened the chicken!! Shocked I say!! I'm going to try that, even though I do have a tenderizer mallet at home.
The Food network should give you a cooking show.
