I am no seamstress and dont even own a sewing machine so i sew things by hand. A friend of mine bought a dress 3 sizes too big cause she was in love with it and asked me to perform a miracle and alter it lol. Wish me luck!!

You saved my life! I make wigs and needed to find a different way to take in a wig that was too big without compromising its form. I applied your instructions with what I knew about wig making and it worked so well. Thank you!!!!! Subscribed for life.

That dress screams late 80s/early 90s to me, not too bad of an era for clothes. Today's clothes to me feel so "Blah", if you know what I mean, no panche, attitude, fire, whatever you wanna call it. Were it me, I would have tapered it out after the hips to create a fuller, swooshier skirt, but that's me. Another beautifully done piece.

Ahh yes I do love fit n flair! I felt like there wasn't enough fabric in it to have any drama in the fit n flair but I think I am going to add a ruffle to the hem! Thank you for watching :)

  • @ReisigSeeds

When hemming, put the edge of the hem where your leg goes in. (Narrows)
The eye is drawn to the contrast between the fabric color and the color of your leg, and by putting that important point where your body goes in at the sides, you’ll get a more flattering look.
There are several points on the leg where this naturally happens: and it differs on everyone. But if you keep that in mind, you’ll always have a flattering skirt length.

@@SewAnastasia I wasn’t criticizing your look at all. I just know people have a hard time knowing ~where to put the hem and wanted to add it as something to help others.

    It's waaay too wide!
And, to top it all off, I have a an hour glass figure, with a small waist, approximately " medium hips and full, high behind, lol 😂!

I like the way you adjusted the dress through using the seams. I do think that you may have it a little tight and a little short as you keep yanking on the hem. I do plan to adjust a dress that I have using your method and I have subscribed. Look forward to more ideas from you.
