I'm not diagnosing a floating mountain lion, merely speculating that criminally minded floating mountain lions are always a possibility 😄

  • @sparrowhawkerdesigns

A swab of the throat wound would have probably given them the DNA of whatever "bit" him. My grandson was attacked by a Rottweiler and even though there was only one definitive bite mark, there were scratches and bruises all over because humans will fight back when being attacked. (My grandson is fine now.) I don't believe for a second a mountain lion attacked the victim and didn't leave a single other mark on him. This was a predator of the human variety. IMHO.

    • @aarondavis8943
      @aarondavis8943 Před rokem +1

We really need to know the nature of the wound to make a judgement. It would be difficult to mimic a bite wound from any animal with an edged weapon. Knives and machetes cut; animal teeth and claw rend. The wounds are entirely different. We don't know the wound so it's pointless speculating.

      1. DNA would very likely be contaminated either by the victim's blood/tissues or the environment. Speaking for my own dept (not near TX) we'd probably swabbed any area near the "bite" that looks "clean" but we wouldn't hold our breath for uncontaminated sample.
      2. Every video gives the impression the victim's throat was latched onto and ripped out.
Problem is there'd be blood spraying all around the area, called arterial spurts.
The same would've happened if he'd been slashed with a knife. We had multiple, like more than a couple, knife homicides with "south of the border types". In any eyeblink they can slit your throat from ear to ear or past the ears. This will appear like something ripped a big chunk from the throat.
On the lack of foot/paw/hoof prints its most likely either weather (wind + water) may have made tracks unreadable. OR one scenario I've seen WAY too often is Looky-Loo deputies and officers, even firefighters have wiped any trace of tread or tracks.
Here's how it narrows down from my experienced instincts and experience. Victim was a methhead and was in prison for it. He got out and he's still doing meth. Meth costs money. Meth needs a seller who wants cash for the product he gave you. If you don't cough up the money, your life is hanging by a thin string. Also, being MUCH closer to the Mexican border the sellers are thicker and so are the assassins who work very cheap. $5 can get you a murder of some local punk in northern Mexico, probably cost more in the US.

I think you're correct about the reason given for cause of death by the authorities. It was during the height of the COVID pandemic, Christopher's was not a death of a "model citizen" that the media likes to pick up on (so no pressure there to find the legit killer), and law enforcement probably just wanted to close the books on it by blaming a wild animal. Another great analysis, Dr. Grande.

Cops seem be lackadaisical, or employ kangaroo court, with people, we as a culture don't value; in example, street hookers and petty criminals. Unfortunately hookers rarely injure anyone, other than their customers, while petty criminals, like mold, create misery in lots of little places.

Boggles the mind that the authorities can claim it was a mountain lion with a straight face. They might as well have claimed aliens or Bigfoot killed him, as those theories have an equal likelihood of being true as a mountain lion. Maybe even less as there seems to be more sightings of aliens/spaceships than mountain lions in the region.

Not surprised. You really have to live around lions to be that familiar with them. Dr. Grande referred to lions always suffocating their prey, but that is not true for juvenile lions inexperienced at hunting or even old lions who are not able to hunt anymore. We have them here in Arizona and they are the most active in the month of December and during all winter. The juveniles don't kill people but could attack and leave injuries resulting in a person bleeding to death. I agree with the Fish & Game on this one.

Usually the dog latches onto a leg or forearm, then a lot of people try getting on top of the dog to free the limb and control the dog, but if they mess up the dog gets loose and now they're on the ground where it can get their neck.

Lived in the Rockies in Colorado for a few years…tragedy struck when a mountain lion attacked & killed a teenage jogger from the local high school…young cougar exacted the kill from behind then dragged the teen, hiding him for feeding later. A rare horror story of nature. Authorities tracked & killed the mountain lion. There’s a tribute walkway/bridge in honor of Scott Lancaster in the town.

My grandmothers house title was “stolen”. Someone got a quick deed done… forged her name and even had it signed with someone who was a notary and notarized and was in this big scam with him. He had done it to several other houses in the area. Unbelievable how easy they were able to pull this off. And he was about to sell the house to someone and run off with the money. So anything that can alert someone to that happening is great. Oh and my grandmother had already passed when this happened, so she wasn’t even around to sign the paper but the county didn’t do anything to verify it was a real sale. Luckily they auto send out a letter when a sale is done to the address of the sale and thankfully my dad went and checked the mail before this scam artist could retrieve the letter.

I agree, I don't think it was a cat. It would be one thing if he was a child, but in order for a cougar to kill a grown man it would have to hit him from behind and above to land a critical hit on the back of his neck. It wouldn't attack from the front, and if it did there would be far more, deeper claw wounds.

Did the police or any agency check where the mountain lion went? They declared a man killing mountain lion was on the loose so I hope they looked for it (/sarcasm off).
Maybe the mountain lion got an Uber or Lyft out of there - which seems as likely as the lion attack.
Pit bulls can definitely jump that high - they’re among the top breeds for jumping if not the best. However, blaming any animal without proper investigation is just sloppy police and forensic pathologist work.
The issue with deciding who deserves the pursuit of justice, is that moveable line of worthiness. A slippery slope.
I agree with Dr. Grande, the media and public scrutiny is a driving force in the judicial system.

Two recurrent themes in your videos, Dr Grande, is that the police is more interested in closing cases than looking for the truth, and that the police is only interested in investigating further if pressured by public opinion. This is very interesting because it goes against most citizens' expectations from the police force. It would be great if you could analyze the psychology of law enforcers, what drives them to choose that line of work, and how the reality of the job may conflict with their idealistic views.
