MUST DO Upgrade for your Cheetah 125!

  • Installing new front air shocks on the 2021 Tao Motors New Cheetah 125. Factory shocks are terrible. This should be one of the first mods you do. The oem shocks are WAY too stiff. Even driving on the road the atv will shake because there is no give are damping. After the new shocks it rides much smoother on pavement and way better in the yard over bumps and small jumps. Must do suspension upgrade for you or your kids. If only your kids will drive it I suggest getting a new rear shock also. The rear shock will be a little too soft for a heavy adult though.

      @BWADaniel Před 2 lety

      I wish I could’ve stopped you in time. Chinese Quads are not the way to go for your kids. Ever. They are dangerous.. they flip over easily, the brakes DO NOT work. There’s no suspension. It’s fake. And the chain will almost ALWAYS pop off at the worst time and will destroy the motor. These will never hold value. The minute you buy them for $1700, they immediately drop to $400. Good luck ever getting anybody to buy them. I hope you didn’t actually buy these. Go get them a trx250 for the same price.

    • @toolstoys70
      @toolstoys70  Před 2 lety +1

      @@BWADaniel I appreciate your input. Kids safety is soo important and putting them on an any ATV should not be taken lightly. This can be a very dangerous activity in a split second. These are not a toy! Parents I urge you to take it slow and take your time teaching an practicing with your kids before you let em loose. - While yes they use sub par components there are many different brands and models. Some models use hydraulic brakes that work great. This particular model has great rear brakes and yes poor front brakes. Some components do NEED to be changed out for rideabilty and safety. This thing is less tippy than my boys first atv a yahmaha raptor 50. Yes its probably a good idea to upgrade the chain. Easy fix. When these are used appropriately (yard and small trails) and you teach your kids how to ride, they provide much family fun. The resale value does suck this is very true! I skipped the dealer and got one for $1250 shipped. However finding trx250s around here is next to impossible and when you do they want well over 2K for a 20 year old beat up quad. Yes they are much better and bullet proof but buying old atvs are fast, have other issues, can die and break at any point also. End of the day don't buy your kids a huffy and expect a Trek. Parents buy Huffys every day and are not trying to set there kids up to fail. Its just what they can afford, and all the kids need if they are just riding around.

      Only issue we’ve had with the tensioner is that it squeaks pretty loud. But keeps the tension well. My initial thought is that maybe your chain is too loose so the adjuster is lifting the chain TOO much.

      Everyone says it’s just the carb when they cant get it to run. But likely he’s right. If that’s it then it’s probably a good deal. If you buy it I’d start with a simple carb cleaning. The carb is so small that the jets get clogged up easy.

    • @BubbaB43
      @BubbaB43 Před 2 lety

      You can go with a smaller front sprocket but you'll lose top end speed. If it was me I would go with a big bore kit, bigger PWK or a KOSO carb, external air filter and full exhaust. There's all kinds of upgrades for that engine. You can even get it a port and polished head with bigger valves, bigger cam, better ignition etc.... The list goes on and on. Also they have complete engines like the 190cc and 212cc ones that have 5 speed transmissions. Look up pit bike race engines and upgrades and you'll find a gold mine. There the same engines you just have to go by the location of the starter when you look them up. See if your starter is on top of the engine or on the bottom of the engine and go from there
