Welcome to our very first video! After nearly 16 months of full-time RV Life we decided to start documenting our RV travels. Get ready for the high and lows and get a good laugh as we tackle boondocking in Utah in our 44 foot Alliance Valor toy hauler. This episode we share our epic boondocking spot near Bryce Canyon National Park and give you tips on scouting out the safest route, especially if you are a big rig. We also share with you our secret find just 30 minutes from Bryce Canyon. Kodachrome Basin State Park is a real unknown gem of the area and the drive there will knock your socks off. The trails there are dog-friendly and the views are stunning, without the crowds of Bryce.

I’m 69. I remember very clearly Kodak Kodachrome & Kodak Ektachrome 35mm slide film. My Dad & I shot a lot of it. Thanks for a good memory.

@@liketheresnotomorrow we are kinda in a similar situation as you because we took our last kid to college but apparently we didn’t take him far enough away because he keeps coming back. One more year and we might finally be able to hit the road for longer periods of time.

Yay for you two! We have two adult kids too. One freshman at IU and another post college working in Indy. I’d love to learn more about how you all processed this major jump away from former life and squaring how you would keep up with the ‘kids’ from afar. You all must have been scrambled coordinating work, prep for college, selling house?, and moving to RV life all at the same time. I subscribed so will enjoy your upcoming episodes. @@liketheresnotomorrow And I am usually the guy getting paid to do it from someone like you ;-). The CZcams thing is a lot different than the usual corporate or television work we do. Less about every shot being gorgeous, and more about the story. I'm still adjusting to not wanting to make every frame of video a painting you can hang on the wall, no time for the in the CZcams world!!
If you run into production questions feel free to send then my way, always happy to share my knowledge with other creators. We shoot mostly on GoPro's and a DSLR and then edit in Final Cut, so I have plenty of experience from that end. Welcome to the wild and whacky world of CZcams!!!

I can't believe Hugo is over 80 pounds 😱 I thought Bowie was one of the biggest and tallest of all Noel's puppies, last I checked he was 62 pounds!

I'm want to upgrade my truck to a dually and my Grand Design trailer to a 5th wheel, I heard about Alliance RV's for the 1rst time last week and like a couple of their models, how do you like yours so far?
We really do like it a lot. They are not without flaws (all brands have them) but Alliance customer service is really great. We do have an issue and are traveling back to factory to get it fixed, but it’s all covered so at least there’s that. Our last video details the issue. I’d still buy another Alliance.
@@liketheresnotomorrow issues are expected, specially when traveling often, but good to know Alliance have been great, good customer service is a great selling point!

Hi Guys, we were watching your videos and noticed that you do a lot of shorts. As digital marketers, do you find this to be an advantage to advance a CZcams channel for subscribers/views vs. regular longer videos? It's our experience that the longer the video is the harder it is to retain an audience. PS LOVE YOUR CHANEL!
Funny you asked... I (Darlene) started off doing one long form weekly, and then after we monetized, I switched to adding in daily shorts about that weeks long form. So a short every day between long form. Honestly, it was a ton of work, even using Munch and Opus Clip to create them for me. I found we got views but not enough to make a real difference, and very few subscribers from the shorts. You get shorts views but not really your audience most of the time. At least, that's the way it seemed. I ended up switching to the one long form and focusing on tactics to get the click and keep them on longer. A much better use of time. That moves the needle way more. I do a 1-3 shorts a week now. Focusing on improving your click and retention on your long form is the key IMO.
What part of month were you at Bryce Canyon? We are strongly considering our first visit in 2 weeks after seeing your video. I expect it to be a busy time but really don’t know.
We were there in mid September and it was perfect weather, especially for boondocking. Busy during the day but not crowded. During the summer I hear it’s incredibly crowded. Youll want to get to the trails at sunrise for a better experience and cooler temps. There are shuttles from town as parking goes really fast in the park. If you go, have a great time. It’s one of our favorite places we’ve ever been (so far anyways😜)

I think my favorite sight at Kodachrome SP was penis rock - hilarious. Who said God doesn't have a sense of humor. Another UT SP we like is Goblin Valley SP. The area surrounding the park is as beautiful as inside the park. We boondocked there on Wild Horse Rd. here: 38.572937, -110.737371
