  • I have finally built myself a proper miter saw stand. I recycled some old cabinets,wheels and iron. I used the Kreg Precision Trak & Stop Kit and it works great. I have turned my miter saw into a precise cutting system.

    Great job, I love the way you have repurposed wood. Also I love you shop, kinda messy but it looks like you do a lot of work there 🤔😎👍

    Nice job. You could have gotten away without the pigtail by breaking the link on the duplex receptacle and making one socket always hot and the other one switched. To avoid major construction, I am toying with the idea of an L shaped rail that can be fastened to a portable stand and give it the measuring and stop functions and keeping portability. If anybody has seen a similar design please reply.

      Jeffrey Deutsch I don’t know if this simple stand is of any use to you, however, its conception may be useful.

    nice ! only input I have is on the power side,split plug in wall, one for saw, second for vacuum , in case the saw draws do to knot or tough wood. Dewalt wings, do they hit your new fence?The switch is a great Idea !

      @homesteadhandyman4481  Před 6 lety

      They are 2 different circuits. All my circuits are 20 amps in the shop. The wings do hit the fence but so far not a problem. I sure am loving my stand and the switch works great. Thanks John

    Quick question.. When you turn your saw on the bevel, dont you have to slide out your fences in order to have clearance for the saw to slide properly? Just wondering. The set up looks fantastic though!

      Hi Aaron... You're right about that It was an oversight on my part. I don't cut many bevels on that saw but I have to correct it. Live and learn 😎

    How far did you have to place your stand from the wall? I have the exact same saw and am trying to figure out some dimensions. Love how it turned out though!

    • @homesteadhandyman4481
      @homesteadhandyman4481  Před 4 lety +1

      The back aluminum leg is 15" from the wall. The back of the cabinet is 10" from the wall

    wouldn't it be easer to make the miter saw table lower for the saw instead of making 2 sides higher. Also you would have wider side tables on each end. You would be able to support wider boards.
