Making an outdoor hanging business sign

I made this sign out of 1.25 inch white oak for its excellent durability outdoors. It was coated in a spar urethane finish and installed last fall. I had never used shellac as a paint sealer before this but it worked out quite well. I would definitely recommend that.
This is a bit of a compilation of several shorts that I put together as an experiment.

After spray painting and sanding, did you do the final finish with shellac again, or something else? Does it have any kind of UV protection?

I used a spar urethane that is optimized for outside use.
