Unhaul my books with me!

- Hello pals! Today I am taking on the recently popular trend of unhauling my book shelf. I'm pretty psyched on this trend because I do have a lot of books that I really don't need. What I do need is more space on my shelves. Anyways! Enjoy!
I think we need a "my wife recommends" book series. If she doesn't want to make an appearance (understandably so) she can give you a list.
She’s got some killer recommendations so I’ll do that!
That's a great idea
unhaul is such a healthy trend I feel, and great for passing books onto someone else that may enjoy it!
"Four pack"😂I too, still have to read Brando Sando's four pack
Love the "ding" as a recurring character
Stumbled across your channel the other day and you have quickly become my “go to” for book channels. You just come across as “the guy next door”, very relaxed, easy to talk to, open to pretty much anything, unpretentious, and a fellow Canadian (I’m an east coaster). Love your style, presentation, and book selections. I may even pick up a Stephen King and give it a try- attempted a couple of his years ago but they weren’t for me. But hey, tastes change too. Keep up the great work👍
Wow, thank you! Really appreciate that dude!
And next a bookshelves tour❤
Just Nick casually getting the same book in both hardcover and paperback copies, breaking the spine of the paperback one, giving it away, and keeping the hard copy 👀
Hahahahaha! I assure you my favourite floppy broken ones are staying 😆
Ohhh you have the cover I want for The Troop, but I ended up with a different one. Deffinitly not for everyone.
I can't bring myself to read Name of the Wind, with the worry that it may never finish.
I need to do an unhaul, what a great idea.
totally agree about Bunny! I actually finished it thinking it would make sense in the end. nope i should have wasted my time. terrible.
You should do a video where you take these to some free little libraries around Hamilton 😊
i can't wait for your next video, plus you are so great and you are so underrated
Aw thanks man! Appreciate it!
Thats pretty terrifying and amazing - haha!
Reading Pet Cemetery now! Loving it so far
Elantris is one of my favourite books
I had the same reaction to The Name of the Wind. I also read The Wise Man's Fear thinking I would like it better and it was such a slog.
I just unhauled this series yesterday! No shame, lol
Whew, my heart skipped a beat when you said you were u hauling Fifth Season, I thought you weren't interested! It's AMAZING and totally worth the read.
I was about to comment the exact same thing!
Hahaha! I am fully anticipating loving that book!
the fifth season is fantastic! one of my fav series
Unhauling is great!!
Elantris is my favorite Sanderson book. I hate that every Sanderson fan scares people away from reading it.
Bunny wasn't for me either but you're breaking my heart with The Troop 😄
LOL, yes, I gave up on the 3rd King Killer Chronicles book coming out and a while ago. TBH, it’s been sooo looong since I read it, (mostly, listened while working out and cooking,) and I’m concerned if I reread those two books now I wouldn’t really like them at all now 🤷🏻♀️ And I’d definitely need to reread them before I read the third book, if it ever comes out.
😮 The Troop was so good tho.
Well, if you like Horror, have you tried Mike Bockoven’s books Fantasticland and or Killing It?
🙏🏼☺️ Godspeed.
ayyy ill buy elantris from you. great books as always bro
The Troop was a 5 star read for me
I just read The Book Eaters!! It was SO good!
When you get a chance do you think you would read Shogun? By James Clavell. I am going to start reading it due to the new TV series that is supposed to come out! I'm excited! Thank you for the lonesome Dove recommendation I am going to get to it sometime soon.
Have you read Lisey's Story ? It was my first SK book oddly enough and it hooked me. Loved it.
I read other books but I 100% agree with the covers, why don’t they do them like that anymore?
It’s so shallow capitalistic nowadays. I’m shi**ing tears rn
Felt the exact same way about The Troop.
I just picked up a copy of Elantris to try 😂 New to Sanderson and was torn between starting with his stand alone or The Way of Kings.
If you're interested you can find lists of his cosmere books recommended order of reading. I started with the Mistborn era 1 which was a good place to start, and read a few things in random order before finding the recommended order. I'm trying to backtrack and read them in order now, and as part of that I read Elantris. As others have said, it's fine but definitely not his best. Way of Kings is my favorite so far.
Elantris is my favorite Sanderson book
I agree with skipping book eaters. It sounded so good, but I did not like it. I gave it a generous 2.5 stars🌟
I bought a Sanderson mass market 3 pack for $10 because it seemed fiscally irresponsible to NOT get it, but now I'm in a bind. I read/loved/annotated The Way of Kings, but I jumped into the next book too soon and ran out of steam. But now I dread picking up those chunky little bricks, so I think I need to give in and get the normal massive paperbacks even though I don't want to transfer my annotations or have multiple copies.
And re: Catch Me If You Can - I remember my father running into that situation with A Million Little Pieces by James Frey. He gave in after months of hype about the memoir, and literally the day after he started reading it, the author got interrogated by Oprah because no one had fact checked it, lol.
I am 100% with you on The Name of the Wind. The MC is such a Mary Sue and I felt no empathy or connection with him whatsoever. The love interest story was all a bit weird. Agreed, just don't get it
What?! I absolutely loved Bunny by Mona Awad. Personally I adored the vibes. It felt like a Chuck Palahniuk novel with its satire and the style of writing. Plus it just keeps getting more and more messed up. But it definitely isn't for everyone, it is a weirder than normal book. I actually briefly dated a girl who had a copy and knew I wanted to read it so she let me borrow it. She herself hated the book. That's not why we stopped dating btw lmfao but I was surprised she didn't like it, and she was surprised that I loved it. So maybe I'm strange.
Though I found it odd that she didn't like it because of how absurd it was, yet she reads Palahniuk who is just as absurd if not more sometimes. I dunno lol
I also only made it about halfway through The 90's, glad that I'm not the only one
The Nineties definitely reads as more straight history than Klosterman's other non-fiction but i ended up listening to the audio book and really enjoyed it.
I think you'll like The Phlobotomist by Chris Panatier! Best to go in blind, don't read the synopsis or it gives a lot away. Also, have you read King's Joyland? Agreed, Bunny was trying too hard, total DNF.
love your videos so underrated i can't wait to watch ur channel / audience grow 💓 and 2nd that comment that we need wifey's recommendations or faves video >.< i love a good unhaul video. i really would be curious to hear your thoughts on zadie smiths writing i think you may really like her. have you ever read her or is she on your radar? white teeth and on beauty are her most popular i think but she has a more recent release the fraud (haven't read)
I think you're gonna make some people really happy at your free library. These are all excellent books and I'd be quite excited coming accross any of them. Very generous ❤
Man, I have the Drawing Of Three from the set your big Wastelands. Wish I could find it!
keep looking!!!! haha
Honestly, for Elantris you’re not missing out on much. I loved the *idea* of Elantris but wish we had it in a current Brando Sando writing style. I personally had a hard time getting through it. Can’t wait for your thoughts on Mistborn Era 2 when you get around to them!
Elantris is my favorite Sanderson book right now out of the seven I’ve read
Ah too bad you didn't connect with Kingkiller 😞 I used to say it's my number one series, but now I am among those depressed fans that have more or less given up hope for the third book, so I stopped saying that 😅 Still love the first two books tho.
I shocked myself by not enjoying it honestly, haha. I do hope the third book does come out for all the kingkiller fans sake!
@lasminaEdina Did you read the novella as well, and what did you think, if you did?
I'm trying to just find my books at library and only buy the ones I truly enjoy
I wish I had given up on Bunny. I read the whole thing b/c of all the hype - I kept thinking it would have a payoff if I kept with it to the end. Not for me.
Yeah I bought it for the hype as well and 50 pages in I just couldn't do it. Glad to know I didn't really miss anything.
If you like "Catch me if you can" then Kevin Mitnicks "Ghost in the wires" will knock your socks off and it's all verified true
I had to comment something as I think I may have commented on all your vids so far. Your opinion of Kvothe isn’t completely unique, I have heard others say they think he is annoying. I on the other hand, liked the first book but have stopped with the intention of picking it up again if he brings out the 3rd book. There are too many other books to read to obsess over a book that may or may not come out. I do thank Mr. Rothfuss for the story he’s given us so far.
I loved The Troop, for me it was really hit the ground running and it never stopped kind of pacing. I've heard people call it boring before though, so I guess it's something you either connect with or you don't, and if you don't, it's not a fun read! As for Bunny, I wonder if you'd like All's Well by Mona Awad? It's also magical realism kind of weird, but a very different tone and style than Bunny. On one of your first videos I left a pretty lengthy reply that I think has been randomly deleted by CZcams, because I can't find it anymore, but I was wondering if you've ever read Discworld by Terry Pratchett? If you haven't, I think you might enjoy it. There's always a lot of debate on which book(s) to start with, but for you, I think Guards! Guards! or perhaps the first Tiffany Aching book, The Wee Free Men, would be fitting. If you have already read Discworld... Ignore me, I guess 🤭
I think you're bang on with the troop because I can definitely see some people really enjoying it - just wasn't for me. I haven't read that Terry prachett book so I will definitely check it out! Thank you!
Most people do suggest Guards! Guards! First, but my sister made the suggestion of Mort. I have both of these books but haven’t really decided which to read first
When I was a kid, my sister wanted to read The Shining, and after we came home, she went to walk the dog, and our building is connected to another building by an open cellar with steps. In the darkness, as she walked by, she saw that shiny, silvery copy of The Shining on the floor of the cellar, face up. 😮😮
If you like Antiquing and you're passing near Woodstock, you definitely need to hit up the Antique mall. They have a few book spots with a large selection.

Oh thats awesome - thanks for the info!
I recently started my Stephen King collection. I'll take some of your King books off of your hands.
I am like 50 pages from finishing Elantris, so that was amusing. It was just okay, imo, so you're not missing too much. ✌🏻
📘
the troop... read it cause everyone losing their minds over the grossness in it... I even use to have nightmares ABOUT the same thing going on in the book. so I SHOULD have been SO GROSSED OUT, right? no. I was just MEH the whole book thinking "anytime now it's gonna get SO BAD I JUST KNOOOOW IT!" if you want gross... read MAEVE FLY
Is Doctor Sleep novel a lot better than the movie?
I haven't actually seen the movie so I can't say!
I’ve heard that the movie isn’t great but I did really enjoy the novel, controversially more so than the original Shining.
Read On the Road; I entreat you
Bunny was such a weird read. It was ... For lack of a a better word ... Boring? Like the dark academia was interesting but I just didn't like the characters that much
Yeah I think "Boring" is the way to put it. My eyes were involuntarily closing mid-day while trying it.
I loved the first Mistborn trilogy but I disliked Elantris so much, that I lost almost all interest to start The Way of Kings
Bunny was too much of a fever dream for me. I did not enjoy it.
Bunny was awful I hated it 🤣
Books are sick
