A few months before I needed heat again I had to replace the gasket on the water pump. The gasket only lasts about 5 years before it shrinks and starts to leak. I refilled the cooling system but didn't burp the system. Now with cold weather upon us , no heat. Flushed the heater core and burped the system. Heat is working again.

Hey so I’m Frank I’ve been working on a liberty 3.7 just like the one your working on for heat.
So this customer brought it to me for a water pump. I replaced the pump. But after job I test drove it. And noticed it was misfiring. Did compression test and found cylinder 2 had no compression. So I let the customer know. I removed the heads and found intake valve and exhaust valves on that cylinder were burnt now also looking at pistons noticed that cylinder s piston had a chunk broke off it. There was a hole in piston. So i broke the car down pulled pan and ended up replacing all the rings ,pistons, honed the cylinders like in your video. Which gave me a brush up on my knowledge. I also ended up replacing valves and guides. The customer said since was tore down he wanted to take advantage of opportunity. Pulling the oilpan with motor in the jeep was a bitch had to remove axles and transfer case and drive line. before could get to pan. Anyway did the job put all back to get her with fresh gaskets and fresh parts for the parts replaced I started it and it was smooth. Up until the motor warmed up. It threw a P0123 code at me. So I replaced the throttle position sensor and reset all the monitors. Now I started and it’s running slightly rough. My next thing is going to check the plugs witch I’ve replaced already just to see if hauled up. I’ll keep u posted but if you can think of anything that could cause the slight rough idle would be appreciated. I’m aware of knock sensor crank sensor and cam sensors. I checked ground. Anything else?

You know I did that exact thing and I pulled the motor after all of the stuff that you’re talking about twice eventually finding out that it was just a bad coil… almost out of business but I didn’t do a lot of stuff myself. I had my guy do it…. He overlooked it.

How long should it take for the heat to come out in fridged temps? Mine is sounding really loud just idling or even as I drive and it takes 15 minutes to feel any heat even in 30F. is this normal? last yr I do not recall taking that long or sounding so loud. I do finally get heat but it takes so long... does this mean I need to get it fixed ? ty so much.

I have had 2-3 flushes, water pump fixed, and the entire heater core replaced. My jeep apparently does not have an air cabin filter behind the glove box. What could be wrong? I have a 2010 liberty sport and I have a coolant leak. I replaced my water pump and a few hoses, and the thermostat.
