As a very drunk Brit, I am so so proud of Sam. We haven’t achieved 2nd since 1988 or something and he completely flipped what the general public was expecting. Maybe in a year without a horrific invasion of an innocent country we would have won, but there is no way in hell would change this result. Love you all ❤️

There were 2 winners on Saturday - the sympathy winner and the moral winner - i would NEVER negate the hardship of Ukraine and the lovely people there... but this was a song contest... Sam won by a landslide.... globally Sam will ultimately be the bigger winner. There are some very bitter folk on here slate this. Sorry but you are wrong and where you bitterness shows is that deep down you know it. BEST UK entry EVER... And will go down in history as one of THE best Eurovision performances of all time. It will be on ALL the compilation albums and in your faces for a long long time. Suck it up!

He has a future as a recording artist. His voice and range are brilliant. I am stunned at this performance as a UK citizen.
Sam is literally one of the best representatives to ever represent the UK. The sheer hard work he has put in to singlehandedly try and change the UK's eurovision reputation is just astounding. Where other artists have just shown up just to get drunk and have a good time, Sam has literally been non stop with the press junkets and media, to the continual slog of shows, both on large stages to the smaller unexpected intimate street performances....hes always had one message, and that is to show the world that the Eurovision IS loved in the UK and that years of negativity needs to change. And hes done it with such love and humility.
He has basically done what our very own broadcaster (the BBC) should have done in the last 20 years, and that is to bring something serious and quality enough to be a huge contender. The BBC need to hang their heads in shame!
Whatever the outcome tomorrow, whether he gets 0 points or wins the whole damn thing, I want to thank Sam for remaining eternally positive, challenging people's notions, and for working hard to reverse the years of neglect. I hope you go on to a superb career because you truly deserve it.
