This suggests that not only Savathun, but Xivu Arath and Oryx could have been chosen by the Light too and The Witness prevented this...but after millions of years at least one of them still could get the Light. I guess this is what Savathun tried with Oryx corpse, thinking it could be possible to force Oryx to be a Hive Lightbearer.
It is the worm familiar from the books of sorrow. It is a dead worm that spoke to her father about the cataclysm referenced in this cutscene, then he gave it to her and it led her into becoming who she is now.
The hive were originally going to be chosen by the traveler but the witness lied to them about an upcoming cataclysm in order for them to make their pact with the worm gods and become the hive.
Its okay bae 😭 The Traveler visited her home world and the witness knew this so they decided to intervene and force them into the deep so the hive could be created and the krill couldn’t be claimed by the traveler. At least im no lore expert but this is what I understood from the WQ campaign!
