Let them burn in and then see the magic with poweramp Xb55ap has boomier bass, and is louder, lacks on the treble side a little Wi XB400 has punchy bass, good treble and bluetooth convenience. I like ex155ap the most, even though it's the cheapest because how compact and comfortable it is.

I have MDR-EX155 (no microphone) and MDR-XB55AP. EX155 is more comfortable for long usage. But the wire is thin and get tangled easily. XB55AP has more bass and slight bigger size than EX155. But the wire is thicker and more durable. I'd say XB55AP is suitable for outdoor and EX155 for indoor.

It's been three months and it's still going great. The more you use the better it gets. You'll have to compromise a little bit with the colours tho. They start wearing out really soon. But the built quality and sound it provides is superb. It also has a very decent base. I can guarantee that it can last atleast 18 months even with a very rough and tough use.
I just ordered sony ex 255ap (blue colour) on amazon for just 1299. I guess its the best deal if someone can compromise with colour. I just hope that it wont be very sparkling blue.

The frequency graph is very interesting but since these earbuds have drastically different sensitivitis the ex255ap will sound much better because louder = better. It would be good to normalize or equalize average sound levels in these recordings for a more accurate comparison. Most people will simply turn the ex155ap sound up a little bit because on most devices there is plenty of sound for your ears at the middle of the volume control range. It's important to understand that these are two very different types of earbuds; the ex155ap is an acoustic suspension earbud whereas the ex255ap seems to be a bass-reflex earbud.

Using xb55ap with samsung note 9. Still feeling the pain although less than a week. I didn't like the sound at first: too much bass. A workaround was to try different EQ settings to get the best sound. Almost getting there but I may never reach that sweet sound spot.

I just got the EX155AP and compared it to Koss Retrospekt and Sony original MDR-029 (lightweight on-ear headphones). The EX155AP is ... SHRILL !! A little too shrill for my tastes! Its clearly not a cheap headphone but it definitely overdoes the highs and I can't even hear about 13 Khz any more, sheesh! Also, i love your theme song at the end, THANKS !!
I recently bought the xb55ap. The bass in this earphone is very high but also it doesn't have crystal clear sound. I also have xb455 headphone but xb55ap is not able to compete with it.

Good review and I'm listening your review with my SONY mdr-XB75AP. XB series, either 55AP or 75AP definitely for Bass Head and their bass punch incomparable. But it sacrifice a bit the sharpness of the mid and vocal. The ex225AP is vice versa from XB55AP. It's a hard choice depend on your preference listening songs. What I like from SONY are they build their products with good quality and reasonable price. Always valued for money most compared to it's European and American counterparts. Wired Ear phones are still have their fan nowdays. Do not afraid of losing power and charge free.

At the first, I also feel not comfortable because of the design, but after several days using XB 75AP until now, it's ok and fit to my ears. For the sound quality, especially the low frequency, this one definitely one of the best in SONY in ear lines up. Mid and High Frequency also good. I highly recommend if you are common listening to pop, trance, hip hop and Bass freak based musics. For XB 55AP, I have no experience. But in my opinion and watch other reviewers, there is no significant different to XB 75AP. Anyway I have both XB 75AP & WI XB400. The XB 75AP has better bass thanWI XB400, but just a little different. I believe XB 55AP quite similiar to WI XB400 in sound comparison.

For me 255ap is the best choice for gaming, movies and music any genre except acoustic/instrumental,ex155ap is better..

If anyone is using Sony WI-XB400, let me tell you that these earphones can be tuned to almost perfection. The stock tuning is not that great because there's some harshness in the high frequencies around 10kz which sounds terrible in high volume. Also the upper bass is too much which gives them a boomy sound and not well defined. But using the wavelet app I have come with an EQ that sounds so smooth, effortless and balanced. It's a whole other experience. Also I changed the eartips with Soundmagic E11C tips as they have bigger opening. If anyone is interested I can provide the EQ so that you can fiddle around a little and see if you like it. Keep in mind that I tried to make them sound natural and balanced, so I reduced the bass just a touch to make that happen.
I should've watched your video before buying xb400. I bluntly went for it based on extra bass feature thinking that it would be same as mdrx B55ap. What you Said about xb400 is exactly true.

If anyone is using Sony WI-XB400, let me tell you that these earphones can be tuned to almost perfection. The stock tuning is not that great because there's some harshness in the high frequencies around 10kz which sounds terrible in high volume. Also the upper bass is too much which gives them a boomy sound and not well defined. But using the wavelet app I have come with an EQ that sounds so smooth, effortless and balanced. It's a whole other experience. Also I changed the eartips with Soundmagic E11C tips as they have bigger opening. If anyone is interested I can provide the EQ so that you can fiddle around a little and see if you like it. Keep in mind that I tried to make them sound natural and balanced, so I reduced the bass just a touch to make that happen.

I should've watched your video before buying xb400. I bluntly went for it based on extra bass feature thinking that it would be same as mdrx B55ap. What you Said about xb400 is exactly true.

@@santokiesingh1873 if you used Xb55ap and so fond of it but now Trying to buy this one assuming it would be the exactly same as xb55ap, and only the difference would be it is bluetooth version, then you will definitely disappoint yourself. Once watch his video again. What he said is exactly how it will be. I'm not saying it is not good but wired and Bluetooth version feel totally different though comes with extra bass.

I think those are fairly decent earphones and no need to switch to ex255 or xb55ap from Sony. If you want to try then go with with something from kz next time.

I found Oppo Enco M31.. it has LDAC, now I'm not using my XB75AP. Sound quality is better than XB400 and Oneplus bullets wireless 2

Really looking forward to a wireless that comes as close to 75 AP in terms of bass. Some say the Skullcandy inked plus are good. But are the oppo enco M 31 superior in bass lines?
@@wanshankharwanlang4719 There's a bass mode, but that wouldn't match XB75AP's bass though.. I'm not too much into bass, the overall audio quality however is better than most neckband earphones I've tried in that price range. It is better than xb400 if that helps..
